I have been going to this flea market for years and I find it to be relatively hit or miss. It is almost always the same vendors with an occasional new comer every now and then selling garage sale type items. If you are familiar with the large flea markets that are held in the southern part of the country you will probably be disappointed with the Pea Picking. As another reviewer mentioned this market mainly caters to men and is a great place to find cheaply made or used tools. This is not the place to find knock off gucci hand bags or similar items. The food vendors are also hit or miss and sometimes you will find that not all the vendors are there every weekend. That being said there is a fairly decent selection of fair food including mini donuts, curds and my favorite-taco in a bag. If you are looking for something to do on a saturday and a trip to Sconi sounds like the plan its not a bad choice overall as there is a mini golf course next to the flea market and other cool things to do in the area.

Was shocked and amazed to hear about this place from my brother and sister in– law of all people. Honestly, they are the last two people that I would ever expect to see at a flea market. Decided to take a small road trip to see what finds we could discover. It took about 45 minutes to get there from St. Paul. From the hwy, I was joking that I’d hoped what we sailed by wasn’t the place. Sure enough, it was. It’s located on the side of the hwy on the left hand side. It’s a bunch of outdoor stands and booths with people selling all of their stuff. A lot of it felt like it catered to the male demographic as there were many booths with tires, old tools and other stuff guys into that stuff would get a kick out of. As we ventured down, lots of other stands with an array of old stuff. –Home Goods –Baseball cards — Musical Instruments– –One stand was all the mini version of cars for kids(think a little escalade) –VHS movies galore –Shoes –Fruits and Vegetables — Pickles– but they looked as though were Gedney pickles you could get at a grocery store. There were a few Motley Crew and other 80’s bands mirrors which cracked me up. I used to see those at the State Fair all the time. I’m amazed at what people find in their basements sometimes. It’s a treasure hunt of old stuff, new stuff and some questionable stuff. Most of the vendors were pretty nice and outgoing. Some looked a little surly. Plenty of parking on the lawn. Little food trailers selling State Fair type food. It’s an alright place to stop if in the Taylors Falls area or if looking for something to do for the afternoon. I just don’t know that I would drive all that way again unless I knew for sure they would have what we were looking for. But I guess that’s the beauty of looking for old stuff. Never know what you are going to find… Open on the weekends from 6am-5pm
