I’ve never had a bad meal here, although my friends and family say they have. I love the onion rings; nachos special on Mondays; and Wing Night in the bar. In the dining room you’ll get the old supperclub vibe and great service. The owners and managers have even accommodated my book club a few times.

Enjoyed a very special dinner for my parents’ 65th anniversary. Salad was a surprise for a Wisconsin supper club — mixed greens and light but flavorful dressings. Fantastic popovers served piping hot, perfectly cooked prime ribs, walleye and Gulf shrimp. We topped it off with raspberry cheesecake and rich chocolate mousse served in an all– chocolate teacup. My mother sent her compliments to the chef. So pleased it was a big success!

Terrific Friday fish fry, $ 12.99 for plenty of pollock with a great crispy beer batter which is not easy to do! And unlike some that force French fries and Coke slaw you get your choice of potato and soup or salad. Real tempted to go for 5 stars but the clam chowder was floury and not enough clam.

I LOVE this restaurant! I dined here this evening for the second time. The first time I came on a Saturday night and was able to get the prime rib special. That was out of this world. The popovers are to die for and the butter changes seasonally. The panfried walleye is huge and delicious. The only downside is that you have to walk through a very busy bar to get to the restaurant. And, if you get more than one popover they charge you for them. Bummer! The fried pickles aren’t that good but the ranch dressing makes up for it! The ranch dressing is super awesome! Like I want to just eat ranch dressing itself. Another bonus is they give you a cold salad plate. It’s the little things that matter; the cold salad plate is a must for me. Desserts are hit or miss but I usually don’t have room for them anyways. The service has always been good when I have been there.

Went there with a group of 11 girls around the age of 27 for a bachelorette bar stop. We went around 1130 for the bar scene. The live music was fun and we all danced. The staff was super nice and has very reasonable prices for drinks. Fun stop!!!

The Dalles House was as amazing as I remembered from 30 years ago. The staff was extremely friendly and the food was fantastic. The reason for the 4 rating is I feel the décor needs an update. Everything else was wonderful.

Was this a classic fine dining experience? No. But it was a friendly, kitschy, enjoyable scene. We were there on a Tue and decided to eat in the bar which I think was a good choice– more atmosphere if a little earthy. Bartender was very funny and responsive, a healthy pourer, Good beer selection. We ate both the duck and ribeye. Popovers were a great– rich but not too heavy and everyone enjoyed the food(duck was a little overlooked but tasty). We stayed to play a few games of pool(sort of). The local crowd was very tolerant, especially in my friend’s horrible musical taste.

We were camped near this restaurant and read positive reviews on Unilocal. We just left there full and very happy!!! Delicious food and great service. Hubby got pan fried walleye and I got the filet nuggets and grilled shrimp. Perfectly cooked and tasty. We will eat there again when next in this area.

The restaurant is a bit old school… White linen table cloths, stemware, etc. decided to eat at the bar. The bar is cool and the steak, had the filet, was cooked perfectly. If you’re looking for a trendy spot you should move on. Not much in this area, I’ll be going back.

Just an all around decent place. You won’t be disappointed… Or amazed. But what the heck! Food is well above average. Order extra pop overs. :)

We were leery based on the mixed reviews but there weren’t many options for travelers on a Wednesday night. Both of us had the cranberry chutney pork and thought it was very good. Popovers were huge and delicious! Décor is rather dark but clean. Wait staff was very friendly.

A great place to have a cold drink or a good variety of food items. They had a Rockin New Years Eve Party!

uggh. what a horrible, over priced place. first, the décor is dreary. needs a major update, so dark and all red velvety, candles and dim. have i wandered into the munsters abode? Second, not a thing on the menu under 12.97(and thats a piece of dry chicken). most dishes run in the 20’s. the burger on the menu is 14.97 and basically a huge hunka ground beef with iceberg lettuce, etc. the potato i got clearly had a big dark spot in it so i opted for the risotta, damp, stuck together. yikes. i had high hopes but no. .

The Dalles House is now smoke free as are all Wisconsin establishments. We love the coconut shrimp and the burgers are awesome. You can eat in the bar for a casual experience or eat in the dining room if you would like it fancier.

I’ve always had good food no matter what I’ve ordered. They have daily specials, a full bar, and a very knowledgeable staff! There is a comedy club on the premises. They have lots of different live bands and some really fun DJ’s. There is a patio located off the lounge for smokers if that’s your thing. Like them on facebook to see their daily specials!

Ditto on the smoke. A real big problem in bordertowns. Even if it’s just in the bar it seeps into the restaurant. But sometimes it’s worth the smoke in the bar to the hear the music. Bring an inhaler:
