Went to the Red Lobster this past Friday; packed, it was during their«Lobster fest». I ordered the Canadian Walleye broiled with baked potato. Couldn’t find the potato for all the butter they piled on and the fish fillet was so thin I could see the pattern of the China through it. Bad evening! Wine was OK.

Red Lobster ceases to astound me with their lack of quality in all regards. I had the Shrimp Your Way with the shrimp scampi and coconut shrimp and a side of their wild rice dish. The entrée itself was $ 16 but it was not worth it. Half a scoop of rice and overcooked shrimp that had a texture of rubber. The amount of food I got wasn’t worth the price and the quality just added insult to injury. The service seemed hopeful at first but again the failed in that regard as well. As our dishes piled up the server didn’t seem to notice(or care). She even stopped by to ask us how everything was but didn’t seem to notice the huge amount of dishes cluttering the table. The only thing good was the cheesy biscuits which is why I gave them two stars.

There aren’t a lot of options for seafood in Cloudy Town. Café Renaissance serves up a healthy portion of fish, shrimp, scallops. Red Lobster is a chain, but they serve seafood here. We’ve been pleased with our meals here: shrimp, walleye, etc., but it’s not one of our most frequented spots in St. Cloud. The place is often busy; that’s one reason we don’t stop here more often. Our favorite thing are the cheddar bay biscuits that are served with the meal. If you’ve been to one Red Lobster, you’ve been to them all, and you know what to expect. It’s a WYSIWYG restaurant(what you see is what you get).

Food quality is what you’d expect from a massive chain. My review is not about the mediocre food as we all know what to expect from places like these. My review is about the experience. A group of seven of us went yesterday, the Saturday before Mother’s Day at 4:30pm. The restaurant was at about 1⁄3 capacity and we were told we’d be seated in about 5 minutes, well 25 minutes later we were seated. During this time there were no less than five servers waiting to do business with someone. Also during this time I also witnessed something that I find absolutely deplorable, the dressing down of an employee by management. As a manager it is your duty to make sure that your guests are treated well it it not to dress down the hostess for not having a perpetual smile on her face. Nothing bothers me more than a boss that takes it upon herself to humiliate someone in front of guests. As a customer I would much rather deal with employees that smile and are polite of their own volition as opposed to someone with a fake smile on their face. Given a choice I would not visit this place again.

I’ve always thought leaving bad reviews of any establishment is a waste of time but I’m still fuming from today’s experience. I took my family here today and my father found a TOOTHPICKWRAPPER in his COLESLAW. Absolutely disgusting. I wish I could have taken a picture before our waitress took it away. Our waitress said the manager would come apologize to us immediately but she didn’t come for a good 20 minutes. The waitress replaced the coleslaw but the female manager came to ‘apologize’ in the most condescending tone I’ve ever heard — continuously stating that there’s no way she could imagine how it could’ve gotten in there implying that we must have put it in ourselves. Never mind that I’ve just been reunited with my father after 45 years and what was a special lunch for us turned out to be humiliating — I couldn’t believe the audacity in this lady’s accusing tone. Her only offer was free dessert which my father declined. And we never saw her again. I still left a tip because it clearly wasn’t our server’s fault(though she did get my drink order wrong) but this manager should not have a job if that’s the way she thinks she should treat customers.

Red Lobster has no shame. Dined for lunch today wanting to see for myself if the current hype about menu changes actually comes close to their claims. The only thing different is the look of the menu. The food is the same meager, over priced portions. The poor quality broiled shrimp I ordered was incredibly salty. Ditto for the nasty garlic cheese biscuits. The new menu entrees were not tempting due to the prices. I don’t know about you, I would not spend $ 30 plus for anything on a chain restaurant menu.

Really enjoy eating here. Steak was cooked to perfection. Wait staff was great and willing to go the extra mile for a single raw oyster to try for the first time. Expect a wait if you show up around 5 o’clock. 45 minutes is normal when they are really busy. Food showed up quick once we were seated.

This Red Lobster is better than any other I have ever been to. I have been coming here for years and years and will continue to do so. Today, my husband and I took four of our children out for lunch after a long day of shopping. The staff was friendly and attentive. The food was great and was warm when we got it. We will be back soon! We love going here for date night or family lunches! Luv this place!

Come for the cheddar biscuits. Leave and go somewhere else for fresh seafood.

Staff was fast and friendly but they kept psychotically asking us how our meal was… i was creeped out and felt uncomfortable, like i wasn’t even allowed to finish my meal. When we left there was a line out the door so it validated that they were just trying to get rid of us to clear the table… We were only there about 40 minutes so it’s not like we were just sitting around and talking. I have never been to a red lobster so i found the food surprisingly good for the prices, and the biscuits everyone talks about were good. But because we were pretty much asked to leave literally about every 5 minutes i will never go back … Maybe it’s a st. cloud thing, I’m not sure. And im not into the screaming babies at a restaurant.
