If you have a computer related problem, Tom is they guy who can fix it! Fast, reliable service with smile. I was sad to see him move away from Chicago, but he actually does visit family out here quite often. He also fixed my computer remotely which is pretty amazing, I had no idea that was even possible!

Let me admit right here and now that I am a wanna be geek at heart. I *puffyheart* love Leo Laporte(yeah, I watched him on TechTV before it morphed into the suckish G4 – The Screen Savers? Call For Help? Classic!) and my knowledge of PCs and rudimentary programming allows me to troubleshoot most of my own PC problems. I’m totally down with that little Linux penguin, I’m a Mac and PC user, I obsessively back up my hard drive, I’ve set up my own wifi, I’ve RTFM, and am loathe to call any help line. So why, you may ask, would I need the talents of ER Computing? Two words: custom computer. Oh, yeah. You see, I have this… proclivity for certain graphic intensive games. And graphic intensive games require a system that can seamlessly handle such intense graphics. Now, there are systems, gaming systems, that the local electronics store will gladly sell you. And those systems are pretty cherry. No, really. They are a wonder to behold. And if you have an extra $ 1k burning a hole in your pocket,(I don’t) you can have one. So what is a girl to do? Build her own computer, of course. Enter: ER Computing Tom met with me to discuss everything I needed in a new system. We talked budget. We talked needs versus wants(isn’t everything a need?). We talked graphics cards and processor speeds. And then? Then we went shopping. Yeah. You read that right. Tom didn’t just jot down some notes and take off. Oh no. Tom took me shopping(brick & mortar and online, if you must know) and included me in the process. Now maybe that isn’t a big deal to you, but I am all about the process and learning why various choices are made. The whole time, Tom pointed out the pros and cons of various options and where I might want to increase my budget *and* scale back my budget. One week later and my new pc was in my hot little hands. I’ve never owned a better performing system. Never. And, I must admit, this wasn’t my first custom job. Since that first build, Tom has updated my system and repaired my sister’s system. All for an incredibly reasonable price. My next system, and my daughter’s first pc(that genetic geek bug bit her hard), will be custom builds by ER Computing. I couldn’t, in good conscience, recommend anyone but ER Computing for all your computer needs. Builds, repairs, viruses spawned by clicking on questionable links/material(you know who you are), and configuring your wireless network… ER Computing does it all. Now, stop reading and give them a call. And, FYI, clicking that link is not going to win you a new MacBook/iPod/iPad, but it may just be what lead you here… ;)
