Hard to even give 1 star!!! Only reason is because 1 employee did show me a product & asked me if I needed help. Other than that the register area was nothing but incompetent chaos & it was 8:30 am! Waited 25 minutes to be rung up and I was the 2NDPERSONINLINE!!! Horrible customer care. Spent $ 70 wish it was $ 0! So disappointing and the store had many employees, very few customers. So if Kmart is wondering why they are failing in return customers, THATSWHY!!! Not hard to see the issues IF management wants to check! Bye Kmart I’m moving over to a different store and most likely not another«Kmart»!!!

I have been going to this Kmart for over 40 years. The management seems to have improved as well as the long checkout lines in the last couple years. However, where is management when the lines are long and they should come up out of their office and ring a register to get the lines down so customers don’t leave their items and walk out of the store and go to Walmart. Walmart can obviously operate their Super Walmart located on 14 and Van Dyke WHERETHEREUSEDTOBE A SUPERKMART!!! What is the matter with Kmart WHOUSEDTOBE #1???

I am writing in regards to two alarming situation that I encountered at Kmart in St Clair shores MI, store # 4177. Issue one is over the customer service and their lack of professionalism or her outright rude behavior to clients, second is the unethical business practice. I purchased a pair of dress slacks from Kmart 5 days ago, they did not fit(too big) however I lost the receipt in the process. I returned the item today and let Margaret(register # 025) know. She told me that the item would be returned at the least sold price of the item(the lowest it will ever sell) NOT the current selling price. This practice is completely unethical and I am sure illegal. The item, at the time of my returning of it, was still the exact same price as if I was to have stood in line and purchased it again. This is 2014, every store(apparently except Kmart) refunds items without a receipt at the current price, that I understand, however telling someone they will get its lowing selling prices is an absolute rip off. I asked Margaret, so its possible the least price would be 0, she replied yup it could be and that’s not my problem its the policy. I made it clear to her the item is still the same price and I will not take less then what it is currently selling for, she then reiterated to me that its policy and it is not her issue. I am flabbergasted that a person would be put in a position to work with returns who’s level of apathy and manner is that of a person who has no care for the client, no care for the company she represents, and is willing to purposely cause conflict. I told her I needed a manager she stated back, she’s right there! Well yes I see that Margaret but When I ask for one, the expectation is you are going to get her not me! The customers behind me even commented on her attitude and were talking with me how disgusting this policy is and had they known this they would not shop here. Which leads me to my last and final comment, does Margret realize that their are department stores outside of Kmart in the area? That I could go to target and return an item with out an attitude by a clerk telling me my, return is not her problem? Does she realize the economic state of Kmart and Sears stores and that isolating customers, provoking them berating them with attitude is not going to return loyal customers? Lastly I ask those who are compelled to read this email, if they would return to a store that purposely takes money from you on a return knowing the item is not selling for that price, meaning purposely ripping them off, and only reversing it when the client complaints to upper management. If you purchased an item at $ 30, went to return it and its still being sold at $ 30 but are only offered $ 15 back, would you still shop at that store? Then add that the customer service representatives attitude to all of the customers is, «its not my problem». No thank you! I will gladly pay a few dollars more for a product, knowing that I will never have to experience this type of rude, disrespectful, apathetic employee as I did today.

This must be the worst store in the chain. The cashiers are rude, the supervisors are terrible and the store manager is non existent. I tried to return an item and the bar code would not scan on my receipt. The woman working with me was unsure how to get the receipt to scan. But while she was working with me the jewelry department needed help so she left me standing there. Again when she returned a front end cashier needed an override, so she left me standing there again. For a fourth time she leaves me again for the jewelry counter. She paged a few people to help her but there was no response then finally someone showed up about 30 minutes later. The poor girl that was trying to help me was not the problem, Poor management starting with the store manager. Unfortunately this is the only store near by so I will have to return to this store again.

This store is a disaster & today was my last trip there. Let me start by saying that on 2 different occasions recently I watched adults abusing their children and then I watched employees act oblivious to it. When I called their attention to it they did nothing which is ridiculous. The police should have been called immediately but, instead they were called by me as clearly I was the only one that found it unacceptable. For the last 3 or 4 times over ½ of the items I picked up to buy ended up to be empty boxes. From band aids to Tide pods empty container after empty container. The security either needs help or to be replaced because they certainly aren’t doing what needs to be done. What a mess never again

Rating would have been three stars, the checkout wait is insane. I’ve been going to Kmart my entire life — my mom has always worked at one. The checkout service continues to go down hill. Overall the store is clean, and has all you would expect — it even has a larger than normal clothes and shoe section. Also, gas coupons are nice and free layaway for Reward members. If they up their service, more stars will come.

They were kind enough to hold a microwave for me when my local store was out of them. The store layout has changed quite a bit since I was last there. It seems they are trying more for a department store feel. It was kind of neat. The cashier was super nice & efficient. If I didn’t live so far, I would for sure return over & over. I really like the new layout!

Three constants: 1. There will always be 50 people in line and only one cashier open. 2. Their pricing system is so antiquated that they constantly have to call for price checks. 3. You will get a headache from the constant flickering of the old school flourescent lights. Do yourself a favor and drive the extra ten minutes to Target.

When i was a kid Kmart was where I got all my school supplies. Remember those really crappy Kmart brand crayons in the big box. They were so waxy and never really colored like Crayola. well over the course of my adult life I have shopped a Kmart or 2 and always found them to be pretty cool. I have found many a trinket or misc. buy. This is one of the only Kmart left on my side of town. It’s not very nice inside. The layout is really closed in and just off. I do have to commend them on the nice sales floor staff I encountered on my last visit in search of a thermos of my fella. The lady was helpful and she didn’t just point and say aisle 6 she actually walked me to the aisle and located them for me and asked me if I needed anything else and said if I did she would just be 2 aisles over. I thought that was nice. I did manage to buy a thermos for my guy and some other randomness and a few Xmas stocking stuffer type items. Outside of being poorly laid out and the very ODDODD gal who checked me out my experience there was swell. I will for sure go back for odds and ends. I’m a sucker or a sale!
