I couldn’t believe the attitude the guy taking my order and the guy handing me my food had this morning. Let me just say, the guy taking my order should be an announcer. The amount of cars that were going in the drive thru pretty much circled the whole building but there wasn’t any point in putting my car in park. Cars, one after the other, just kept making their way down the line. I’m gonna end this by giving a shoutout to the employees who worked Friday, September 25th. Oh, and did I say it was the morning?

This is the fastest, friendliest McDonalds in St. Charles County. I have been visiting this location for about 3 years and have never had issues with order correctness or food quality. They might feed the employees prozac because they are the friendliest fast food workers I have ever encountered. This McD’s is a notch above other St Charles County locations and I can’t quite put my finger on why. Besides for a newer building, maybe it’s a local franchise ownership versus corporate owned(or vice-versa)? I use the drive through 90% of the time and the dual ordering lanes can become a double barrel load of frustration during busy hours. Generally, impatient drivers thinking they must always merge first after ordering are part of the problem. People just need to chill and wait their turn. Also, it feels impossible at times trying to get back onto Harvester Road. This is due to the insane traffic and suboptimal sightlines for traffic exiting from Hwy 94. This is especially true during the morning and evening commute times. Trying to turn left on Harvester Road? Forget about it! Would have given 5 stars except for the fact that the parking lot becomes a popular loitering spot for kids after the sun goes down, probably because this location is open 24 hours. Not a huge deal… As long as you don’t mind occasional verbal harassment from slightly intoxicated 19 year olds or the insufferable revving of clapped out 15 year old Honda Civics with coffee can mufflers and ridiculous primer colored wings screwed onto the trunk.

We have been stopping at this McDonalds in the two years we have lived in LSL. At first is was not well managed and had suspect employees. Now in the last few months the place is clean, well organized and the staff is of a higher calibre. We only go for breakfast and an occasional Frape. Being on Weight Watchers I can eat an Egg Mcmuffin and a Yogurt Parfait and be within my points for breakfast. Most of the food is what it is… fast/not healthy. You can make good choices though and be fine. Good job McD’s management we see a big improvement over the last 12 months.

I think it is ABSOLUTELY fantastic that McDonald’s employees are looking for $ 15 an hour to do a job that China basically has its toddlers do. For 30 years I’ve been driving through this place and leaving wondering why the hell I keep going back. In recent years, I’ve tried to be a healthier eater, so I’ve avoided this place like the plague, but after a few months hiatus, I got lazy and pulled in on my way home from work today. Aside from the incredibly friendly girl at the drive up window, I’m not sure if there is anything I like about this place. It’s new, yeah great, but if you polish a turd, it’s still a turd. The problem is, with all the bells and whistles, the neat technology they have to help them get your order done quickly, they still can’t get the basics right. There is a cool machine that grabs a cup, fills the cup with ice and your drink and then slides the cup to the window, awesome. There is another really cool machine where they type in the order, and it pops up on a screen in front of the burger assembly line. Too bad no one looks at it! I can’t tell you how many times I have convinced myself that fast food joints will finally get their act together and figure out a way to get orders right, only to drive thru another one and get the wrong damned order. Folks, I’m not trying to be a fast food snob here, but I cannot eat onions. For some reason, I gag, choke, and nearly throw up any time I get an onion on my burger. So it shouldn’t be too much to ask to NOT put something on a burger. You asked me what I wanted, I told you, you put it on the screen, you asked me if it was correct, I reviewed it and said yes, WHYTHEHELLCAN’T THECOOKSREADIT? So after nearly blowing McChunks all over my leather interior, I was once again forced to pull over, scrape those nasty little bulimia pills off my simulated meat burger, and then continue on down the road, all the while cursing fast food, McDonalds, and anyone who thinks that this is worth $ 15/hour in labor. There are trained professionals out there who can’t get $ 15/hour, yet McDonald’s employees think they need more money. Let’s try something else, how about you earn the $ 7.50/hour you are making now, get your acts together and pay attention to the orders and make sure the food is hot and the orders are correct, and maybe you can earn yourselves some raises. In the mean time, talk to your manager about hooked on phonics or whatever training you need to help you convert those letters on the screen into a meaningful code that will help you do just that. One star for the wonderful lady at the window. The second star shouldn’t be there, but I’m fat and I know my fat ass will be back for another burger after a few months when I’ve convinced myself I cannot live without some McNuggets.

Service can be slow but food is always hot and fresh. Drive thru tends to be wrapped around the building and can block the entrance during high times. My orders are usually right. Last 2 times I ordered 20 piece McNugget I’ve recieved a 9 pieces. The order was quickly rectified while the cashier profusely apologized and even through in a few more. Makes the pups happy to have extra nuggets.

I’m sure we have all made jokes about McDonalds and we have all grown up with the Mighty McD. Hard to beat when looking for a fast food that’s good. They still have the best fries anywhere. Always worth the visit… and always great for a late night snack. Something for everyones budget.
