Our group of(16) came here for lunch. The service was good & fast, the food was great and at a decent price. I’ll gladly come back when I’m in the area.

Very good service and food was pretty good. Serving size of the sushi was big(we had 4 different kinds). I think the prices are a little high for the area; it’s sort of out in the woods(well, the area is newly developing). The restaurant is clean and nicely decorated — ethnic vibe but not overboard. They had televisions on sports stations(no sound), and we were okay with that. It was about a 10minute drive from the St. Augustine Outlets, and it was really nice to not have a crowd or not have to wait very long.

We came for lunch and haven’t had such good sushi in a VERY long time!!! We weren’t thrilled with the cucumber salad, but that is because we are used to a different presentation, not that it tasted badly. This is so good in fact that we are trying to plan meals in order to return before we leave in another two days! I will now call this my NEW favorite sushi restaurant in St. Augustine, FL!!! I would recommend this to everyone reading!

Sushi was great! Came here on a date. The service was fast and the sushi was fresh! We also had the Saki(they have a wide variety) which was very smooth. The atmosphere was quiet and generic but no complaints. Definitely worth it to try!

I am probably biased since I lived in Japan for five years, hence three stars. The Beef negamaki was good and the Gyoza was a little lacking on flavor but the sauce made up for it. Friendly and attentive staff.

We selected to dine year based upon other Unilocaler reviews The restaurant is located in a plaza, The front of the restaurant as you’ll see from the picture I took is all blacked out, inside the Decour is acceptable an average Asian style. Service was definitely not with a smile and was intermittent. It seemed we did not have a dedicated server serving our table but a rotation of servers. I can honestly say this is probably some of the worst sushi we’ve had in years. The sushi was very pricey and given the quality was definitely worth only half the price at best. Two others in our party got the chicken teriyaki which I tasted confirming it was bland and tasteless. Unfortunately their high Unilocal rating from my point of view is not what we found and was not our experience. Definitely not a 4+ Unilocal rated restaurant definitely a two star in my book. Maybe 2.5 stars but no higher sorry on the poor review but that was our experience. I just don’t see where all of the high Unilocaler ratings are coming from.

Great seaweed salad. Served on base of sliced cucumbers so you can eat it all. Had the king spicy roll. Terrific! And honestly the best fried cheesecake I’ve had. They’re smart about this! Cut the piece in two longways so you don’t end up crunching a frozen core. Will return.

I just want to shout out to the management that your employee stayed last night extra half an hour to allow me to drive from the Jacksonville airport to pick up some soup and sushi for my wife who was sick. We will not soon forget your thoughtfulness and we thank you for your wonderful service. ANDTHEFOODWASVERYGOOD!

Good– The food is pretty good, nothing amazing, but the best part is the owner who comes around to every table and checks on the customers. Very nice man with s good personality that makes the restaurant a little different. Bad– A little in the pricey side. Gets full in the afternoon, you might want to call ahead and check for a table. Parking can be s nightmare.

This is a great little restaurant in the neighborhood. They have good quality food and excellent service. I prefer to order one of the hibachi meals when I eat there. It comes with soup, salad, vegetables, fried rice and the protein of your choice. It is a lot of food, and I always have some to take home. I have also ordered from their extensive sushi menu, and it is very good. I love that at the end of the meal they bring you a slice of orange. The service is also very good. They are quick to bring you what you order. Sometimes they are almost too quick getting to your table to take your order. Overall, when I want a quick place that is close to home and good quality I stop there!

Great little neighborhood joint! The atmosphere is lively but not crazy. There are seats at the Sushi Bar or tables. Really enjoyed the Chicken Hibachi. Very generous portions! It’s so nice to have a good restaurant close to home for those nights when you just want some time with your family.

I popped into this cute place with my family when I was visiting home. It’s just a small restaurant in a strip center in Saint Augustine but I was pleasantly surprised with both the décor and food. It is definitely a child friendly place given the area near many neighborhoods with young families. The restaurant is clean, well decorated and makes you forget you are in a strip mall. I also found the staff to be personable and efficient. The menu is pretty extensive — lots of sushi and hibachi options. The food was flavorful and the portions generous. It also appears that they do an extensive take out business as we were constantly watching to go order pass by. TANKS A LOT!

I recently discovered this hidden delight! I wish the area had more restaurants with flavor like Tank! Tank offers Sushi as well as Hibachi and All Japanese fare. I have never jumped on the Sushi wagon, so my review is solely on the Japanese dishes! Being a girl with migraines, I can attest to the fact that no MSG is used in their food! My favorite is the Shrimp Hibachi, which is full of 12 fresh shrimp and veggies! It is so fresh and light! My fave app is the Crab Wontons(calorie free of course). The are just enough to satisfy you without being too heavy. All dinners are served with choices of rices salads, soups, etc. I always have leftovers for the next day! Check it out! Like me, you will wish you had found it previously!

OMG! This was one of the best visits we’ve had here and we are regulars. I ordered 1 oz of Kobe beef as my appetizer then the Sashimi Martini and the Yankee Roll for my meal. Hubby had the pork gyoza and Power Roll. Both the sashimi martini and Yankee rolls were freakin awesome! Lots of yum yum sounds while I ate. I was pleased at the quantity of sashimi in the martini mixed with avocado and mango. The Yankee roll is worth the price of $ 13.95. The sauce that comes with it is incredible too! Hubs said the Power roll was good and definitely something he’d order again. We love their gyoza and it was great as usual. Kobe was very tender and flavorful. All in all, food was great as usual and of course we’ll be back. Have no fear, the majority of their rolls are very reasonably priced and their sashimi prices are better than a place closer to where we live.

In the outskirts of Saint Augustine and hungry – not in the mood to head back downtown, either – I looked on Unilocal to see what sushi and Thai options might be around and was surprised to find this listed, with very good reviews. Finding the Sushi Bistro however is a bit of a trick: it’s located on the very far side of a Publix shopping center off Highway-16. If you pull in and are facing the Publix itself, look for the Pizza Hut and nail salon, then go right around the corner from there – like take a sharp right at the end of the side where the Pizza Hut is, and you’ll discover there are a few more businesses on this far side, including a dentist, lawyer, and and and – our elusive sushi bar. Seriously kids, it’s hard to find. I almost left before finding it, and the façade of the building is very small and doesn’t stand out, either. Once inside though, the interior is very warm and welcoming – very inspired by traditional Japanese interior architecture(something I can claim to know a little about as I wrote a thesis on architecture in animé in college – yeah, seriously). The attention-to-detail is impressive and the whole experience is cozy, wabi-sabi, and really makes the best of what’s not a whole lot of space. Instead of feeling small, it feels personal. They did right with this, they did. The service is fine, if not outstanding. Some of the staff seem to have a slight bit of difficulty with English, though. As to the food, I ordered the Japanese spring rolls, two sushi rolls, and several nigiri. My friend(who despite being from the area was utterly no help in locating the restaurant, btw) ordered three rolls. Everything was very good. The yellowtail roll(which I had them add scallions to) was a little lacking on flavor but the bagel roll’s salmon flavor tasted very fresh, came through very well. The salmon nigiri I ordered – both smoked and fresh – also was of high quality. Now the spring roll, something that many places – especially in sushi bars – would be overlooked and receive little attention in the kitchen, was simply superb. Hot, fresh, and filled with flavor. Overall, very impressed. Why not five stars instead of five then? Because, and this is hard for me, I have reviewed so many sushi bars, I’m not able to say this was truly one of the very best ever, but for its location and such, it’s quite outstanding. I would say, four and a half stars I guess. It’s not a Kyo-ya level of sushi, but it’s very good and the atmosphere is so nice and welcoming.
