I have never encountered a more confusing experience in all my life with employees that just don’t care.
I ordered a small case of 120ct 5.56 ammo and 8lbs of Tannerite to pick up at customer service. When I arrived, after receiving email that my order was ready, I visited the front customer service/​online pick up. The young lady called in back and was informed that my order was actually out of stock and I would «have to call the store occasionally over the next week to see if it was in.“When I explained the email she basically just said «wow, that’s strange.»
Aggravated, I walked to the back of the store confused as to how they couldn’t have the ammo available. Come to find a whole shelf dedicated to the exact ammo, caliber, grain, count, contained, everything! As I was bringing the ammo to the front my phone alerted me through email «Gander Mountain has Cancelled your order for Reason: OUT OF STOCK» WHAT?! The product you have 300 cases of is «out of stock»!?
So I proceed up to the front regardless to show the young lady and she is dealing with another customer but informs me she «found the Tannerite»
They had my whole order! Even though in the first 30 secs I was shot down with «sorry come back another time»
The ammo order was cancelled by them so the original payment method would be credited in about 3 business days.HAHAHAA. So if I wanted to take the ammo I would have to pay again…
Called the 800 number and explained what occurred. I was offered nothing but an apology and in lieu of a refund be sent the ammo in the mail for ‘no additional cost’ … Wow thanks for offering to make we wait a week for what I already ordered. The lady on the phone even offered to have the ammo shipped to the store!!! I said «MAM, YOU WANT TO SEND THE STORE THE AMMO THEY ALREADY HAVE FOR ME TO PICK UP!?» To which she just responded «Ok, right, we will send it to your billing address is that ok?»
… Never again… I have spent about $ 1,100 in the past month at Gander Mountain. I will be taking my business elsewhere.

They had what I needed at an overpriced amount. What else is new. But I got my fishing gear. Just hate having to run around looking for help.
The guy seemed knowledgable and even put my fish line and hooks on pole. So that was cool!

This is a great store to find anything you need for the outdoors, and more! Located past Bozard Ford near the Outlet Mall, this store has PLENTY of parking and is quite a large store, meaning you have plenty of areas to shop and won’t be crammed in with other shoppers.
The outdoors area is obviously the biggest– there is absolutely anything and everything you’d need for camping, hunting, fishing, whatever you’re activity. Tons of hunting gear, guns, ammo, supplies… tons of fishing poles, lures, weights, tackle boxes… tons of tents, sleeping bags, mini grills, portable toilets… I could spend hours just walking around checking out all the cool stuff they have available.
The firearms selection is also very impressive. Lots of new and pre-​owned guns, from handguns to shotguns to riles to assault rifles. Plenty of ammunition, targets, sights, gun oil, everything else you need to maintain your weapon, and of course safes and lockboxes to keep your weapons safe and out of the hands of those not trained.
I was also surprised at the amount of clothing and shoes available as well. You can find hiking and outdoors shoes, but also some pretty nice running and exercise shoes from top brands. Gander also has a nice selection of Under Armour clothing for exercising. My wife and I actually found some really nice dry-​fit clothing for an upcoming white-​water rafting trip, and I can use it to work out in as well– double score!
The associates in this store were also friendly and helpful and made sure we had all our questions answered and we found what we were looking for, plus plenty of registers had us out of the store quickly. Overall, had a great time shopping in here, and found some great deals. If you need some basic equipment on the go, you could save money and get some of the items at a local Wal-​Mart, but if you’re looking for specialty items, or especially if you’re an outdoorsman, Gander Mountain is a great place to shop.

I love the outdoors which is why I am so jazzed to have a Gander Mountain in town! I particularly love their fishing sections (yes, you can get your local fishing licenses here) and the abundance of kayaks they have available.
If you are looking for standard basic fishing gear purchasing at your local Wal-​Mart would be more cost effective. But if you are looking for a specific kind of hook, weight, fishing line, bevel, etc., Gander will most likely have it. Not to mention, their fishing rod prices are pretty good and have tremendous selection as well! Gander Mountain also carries some live bait minnows for fresh water enthusiasts!
There is an area in the back outside portion of the store that is dedicated to a multitude of kayaks and accessories. They are a little competitive with other local kayak retailers, but still a little on the higher side of pricing.
This HUGE store carries a ton of outdoor/​sportsman type equipment that is definitely worth a drive toward the Outlet Mall to check out!
