I love coming here. They always have everything I need for dinner when I don’t want to go down the road to albertsons. I like that they have a section in the back where they have freshly made beans, rice, tacos, tortas and more! The family who owns it are always so nice and treat you like family. My go to carnicería.

I main reason I visit here is for their butchers counter. They have a very nice selection of cut meats for the grill. I normally go for the korean short ribs and the fajita meat. You have a choice of meats that are either pre-marinated or not. The folks behind the counter are friendly and always very quick to serve you. I’ve gone through their small fresh vegetable aisle but the appearance of the vegetables are never appealing to me so you might need to stop elsewhere.

Family owned Mexican Grocery Store. This is our go to for cooking out! Can not beat the seasoned chicken legs or the fajita meat(chicken or steak) both are great. Great salsa and excellent guacamole(warning) it is a little spicy. They also have a little kitchen to order food. and a place to pick up the best tortilla chips and tortillas ever… Prices are good for the butcher shop and the little deli inside but kinda expensive for the grocery part. The only downside is they tend to run out of Guacamole early. So if you want some. Which I suggest you should. Go Early!!!

Seasoned fajita meat by the pound = the bomb. Best flavor I have ever had. Take it home and slap it on the grill. Yummy!!! Just don’t look around too much and wonder about how clean this joint is. We get meat here a lot and I have never sick so that must mean it is «clean enough»… Right???

What’s not to love? Neighborhood family owned Mexican grocery store. They have really great quality meat(as in a butcher shop), tortillas(brought in from an outside vendor but still great quality and seem fresh made), and in house made salsas and guacamole. Their produce isn’t anything to brag about except they always have really good avocados. I love the bacon and ground beef. Very good quality. They have eggs, sodas, canned goods, etc but priced for convenience so not nearly as cheap as Walmart or Aldi down the road. Their main awesome factor is their«deli» area. Fresh made menudo, tamales, barbacora, Gorditas, etc. There are tables and chairs to eat there but we always take it to go. I get barbacora about 2 – 3 times a week there– very yummy!

I had a carnitas taco plate, which came with rice & beans. The rice wasn’t real warm and the beans were rather bland. The tacos were pretty good, though. I also liked that the guy asked if I wanted cilantro(I didn’t, because it gives me BAD heartburn). After the meal, I grabbed a couple of Mexican Sweet Breads, paid and left. That’s another thing that was kind of odd about this place. When I returned my plate to the counter, they wrote me up a post-it note to give to the cashier at the front of the store, so I could pay. All in all, this place was a real surprise. It didn’t feel like I was«in» Saginaw, but I’m glad it’s here. I’ll be trying it some more in the coming weeks and months.

This place was recommended to me for their marinated fajita meat. I’m going to second that recommendation. I bought both beef and chicken. At $ 2.99 per pound for marinated skirt steak, I really felt like I was getting a deal. You’re paying nearly that, or more, for one fajita taco at any fast food joint. The chicken was a little pricier at $ 4.99 per pound but they used chicken breast instead of thighs. Plus, the breast is butterflied and flattened. It was a good deal all around. Literally ready for the grill when I got home and it was delicious. If you’ve ever been to a Mexican market, you know what to expect when you enter. If you haven’t… Don’t be put off by the lack of organization and polish of the interior of this one. It’s a one stop shop for all things south-of-the-border-like. There’s tortillas, veggies, soda, and those candles with Jesus and Mary on them; classic! There’s also a restaurant inside. This place is not for the squeamish. But if you take the authenticity of your Mexican cuisine seriously, use this joint to do so. Of particular note, everyone was really nice here. If you don’t see anyone at the butcher counter, ring the bell and they’ll be with you directly.

Kill two birds with one stone, its a meat market and a restaurant. Everything is great burritos are $ 3.75 and big. Weekend menudo is pretty good. If your craving something from the meat section tell the butcher to take it to the cook. They will take care of you. Wonderful people! Eat there or take home!
