Son brought me some of his chicken lunch to try. We both agree the chicken was tender but all we could really taste was salt. Veggies obviously from frozen. Get a TV dinner instead. I am surprised this place is still open. Chewy’s was lots better and it closed. This is the second time I have tried their food and I am not impressed. Service, location and ambiance is good though.

Great food. Pot roast, country fried potatoes, veggies taste just like Grandma’s. Excellent service. Feels like home!

Love this place! Food is great and the price is amazing. I don’t think anything is over $ 10! We always get the same server and she is so nice.

I tried liver and onions and it was such a fantastic meal, that I now visit once a week for my superfood liver and onions fix. I just LOVE it! It’s very clean with a genuinely nice staff. I will definitely be coming back!

I wish this review was better, but our entire experience was bad. It wasn’t just a one-off, we have eaten here 3 times and each time have walked away saying«Blah.» The food is ok, the service is not. The set up of the resturant is also a little odd. As a few others have mentioned, there are WAY too many flies and/or other bugs flying around inside. Keep on driving — WAY too many other places nearby that are better!

What a disappointment. There were flies buzzing around as I tried to eat my grease laden cheeseburger, yes I know it was a cheeseburger but I never expected for the bottom bun to turn into a sopping grease mess. I asked for no onions, what did I get onions. I placed the on the table and was surprised by the waitress laughing and saying«oh they put onions, they just make everything taste like onions sorry» I will never support this establishment again. Beyond a horrible experience.

I would say this place is a little pricey for quality and portions of food. I ordered Jumbo Combo breakfast eggs over easy. Eggs wore runny which disgust me. My mother was with me and ordered California omelet which was served with only avocado, cheese and mushrooms there was no bacon in it that was on list of ingredients. Service was fair. The menus are inaccurate often.

Where to start with this disappointing«breakfast». With the name you would think that they have a clue about waffles. They don’t know the difference between burnt and crisp. Mine were 2 over cooked sides with no fluff, or body in between. The sides literally came apart when cut. The bacon? 2 slices at least 3 inches in difference but both cooked as to be charcoal. The waitress did replace mine when I tried to cut one and half of it flew into the booth across the table. The replacements were okay but why not deliver them initially rather than try to foist off garbage rather than bin-it? The coffee and syrup had a couple of things in common. Both were weak, watery, and tasteless. Wow, I would chalk this up to a single bad experience and give another shot, but I don’t know if they could raise their game even to minimal standards much less excel. Wow. How can you screw up breakfast so completely? Service was okay.

I came in for a to-go order. The food was good,(not great, but good). The place was empty on a sunday evening. The portion sizes are generous and the prices are very reasonable. My ranch dressing that came with the chicken strips however, was extremely watered down. I think I would definitely go back again for a to-go order.

I’m a waffle lover, but I’m often not impressed by any waffle. The waffles at Waffle Corner were perfect! I ate my waffle last so it sat for a few minutes and I thought it would get soft/soggy. Wrong! It was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside! In my personal opinion, the Waffle Corner has the best diner waffles I’ve ever tried.(Better than IHOP, Denny’s, Waffle House, and Stagecoach.) The restaurant has a true small-town diner feeling. The service was friendly(we got our coffee refilled 3 times). The prices were very good too. About $ 10 for a waffle, egg, bacon combo. Drinks were about $ 2.70. They also had lot of good waffle options! We got the caramel banana waffle(delish!) and a plain waffle with butter and syrup. I finished every bite of my waffle! Highly recommend. :)

I’ve only been here twice for a quick but filling lunch. As soon as my boss & I walked in for the second time, the waitress remembered who we were, which I thought was amazing since Californian’s have some of the worst customer service I’ve come across. She was quick, attentive, & friendly. The first time I ordered cinnamon french toast and couldn’t bring myself to order something different the second time because it was so good.

It’s a greasy spoon with the best french toast ever. Also, this place is called Waffles Corner. Not waffler corner… Hubby and I love breakfast. We’ve been trying to find that perfect breakfast place near where we live and we’re still looking. But when I’m craving french toast the way my mom used to make them, I want to come here! Whenever we come here for breakfast, it’s never full. Usually about half full in the main seating section is the most I’ve ever seen it busy. Parking isn’t terrible as they have a lot in the back. Be wary that they share the back driveway with a church! Getting out of there can be a nightmare. I’m sure it’s a much busier crowd once church is let out. The main waitress isn’t full of chat or smiles, but that is ok with me. You can sub french toast with any meal for $ 2 more, But I often get the french toast combo, which is filling enough for me. Refills come pretty often with the drinks. I haven’t had bad service here yet. I think the first time we came here, I got a waffle. It was not a very good waffle, so when I had french toast the next time we came, I was a happy camper. The hubby likes to get pancakes here. Always get the hash browns. The seasoned country potatoes are not very good and it’s like getting diced boiled potatoes. The hash browns are a beautiful golden brown and crispy, but you will need to add salt. I never add salt to most restaurant dishes, but their hash browns need it. TL;DR: get the french toast with hashbrowns. Go early on Sundays.

You have to put a star to give a review. The sausage wasn’t even cooked, it was cold in the center. The hash browns weren’t cooked on one side. They charge a dollar for a scoop of canned blueberries. This is the biggest joke ever.

Went to breakfast here today with the family of seven. We all agreed the food was terrible. I ordered the daily special, double meat plate consisting of ham bacon, two eggs and potatoes along with your choice of pancakes or a half of a waffle. The eggs were small, bacon over cooked and the pancakes had no flavor. All this for $ 10.99. The only bright spot was the excellent service we received from the waitress.

First and last visit to Waffle Corner. I was looking forward to Sunday breakfast, what a disappointment. This is located at the old Marie Callendars on Arden Way. Parking is very limited, you do not visit because of the ambience. The building and all fixtures are very outdated. Women’s bathroom was clean but had 50’s pink décor. Rather off putting. Staff was ok but not the type of friendly that says, «welcome, I am glad you are here.» Our waitress was attentive and made sure our coffee cups were kept full. We had the steak special for 9.99, why not just say ten bucks? Probably for 10.00 you would expect better good. Serving sizes were on the small side, all the food was piled on top of each other, steak was tiny and had no taste. The scrambled eggs were tough and tasted like old, out of date eggs. The best part of my meal was my wheat toast. The country potatoes were fried in a moat of butter with green peppers, onions and cheese. It’s very doubtful that I will ever revisit this place, there are many other places close by with similar prices and MUCH better food.

I was in town from Los Angeles and decided to stop in for breakfast on two separate occasions. My first trip I went with Classic French toast with cinnamon apple topping and a side of hash browns. The French toast was perfectly cooked and the topping added a nice sweet addition without having to load on the syrup. The hash brown were wonderful, nicely seasoned and crispy(without being over cooked) just like I asked. The waitress(blonde woman in her late 30s, I can’t remember her name) was attentive through out the visit. She seated us promptly and had waters brought to the table within a minute of our arrival. My second visit was the morning of my departure. I wanted to try something a bit different. I love chicken fried steak and have a hard time finding places that make it worth ordering again. Waffle Corner nailed both the steak and the gravy. It also came with a side of toast(sourdough), eggs(scrabbled) and hash brown(which I subbed out for French fries as I had already tried them). Everything was prepared perfectly including the additions and alterations I requested. Our waitress(short dark hair, tall with glasses) was amazing. She didn’t miss a beat, made sure our coffee, juices and waters were topped off including bringing more creamer when we hadn’t even noticed we had run out. She seated is promptly and was very informative when asked questions about certain items on the menu. I wish they had a restaurant here in Los Angeles and closer to home for me. It would be high on my list of regular stops. I’ll be sure to stop in again next time I’m in Sacramento.

Breakfast is my favorite food to eat at a restaurant, and I had high hopes that this would be a go-to place for getting a good breakfast any time of the day, so it saddens me to have to give my first bad review to this restaurant. The service was excellent and that usually goes a long way with me-however my food was so terrible that the service couldn’t save it. I couldn’t bring myself to complain at the restaurant, because I am probably partly to blame for ordering the wrong item. I ordered the chicken crepes with hollandaise sauce. It was simply the worst thing I have tasted in any restaurant. I left on my plate, and they didn’t ask me why. In hind sight I should have ordered waffles. My friend ordered eggs hash browns and toast. She said it was fine… so you are safe with that. I gave it a chance, and won’t return.

It tastes like despair. My chicken and waffles came with baked pre-frozen chicken strips. Nothing is seasoned. Eggs are watery. THEYFUCKEDUPCOFFEE. The fact that everything in the place seems to be prepackaged might be their one saving grace because I wouldnt trust them to make ice water. They still havnt let me pay the bill. If you try this place, Im the guy with hollow dead eyes in the booth.

I wish I could rate no stars. The waitress had bitter beer face and an apathetic attitude, the eggs were watery and flavorless. The«seasoned» potatoes were only seasoned by the pan they were cooked it. My boyfriend got the chicken and waffle and we are 99% sure the chicken was the frozen store brand Sysco brand and the waffle was also flavorless. I hate to say this, but I’d prefer Denny’s food over this place and I’m curious to know what its replacement will be.

Casual neighborhood spot that took over the old Marie Calendar’s. I’m still sad that it’s not Marie Calendar’s anymore(miss their $ 8 pie specials!), but as far as breakfast goes, Waffles Corner is a good replacement. They also have a lunch menu we have yet to try. We’ve had breakfast twice and both times it’s been less than half full of customers. Service is always friendly but can be slow when it comes to refills. There is little décor, just new paint and the same vinyl covered booths from Marie’s. With«waffles» in their name, I expect it should be the top-seller or best thing on the menu. And, YES, the waffles are good! I love that you can choose to have a waffle or pancake, instead of toast, with your entrée. The cook/chef does my special requests correctly(eggs over medium and extra crispy hashbrowns). Portions are average but quite filling, especially if you get the waffle. ;) I’m really hoping the folks around here give this place a try because prices and food make it a major contender in the ho-hum, Arden-Arcade breakfast arena. Note: on our most recent visit(3rd or 4th time here), my bf ordered the steak and eggs and said it wasn’t good, so stick to the waffles!

I’m so excited this place moved in to the neighborhood. I had the grilled chicken salad which was delicious and my boyfriend had the chicken fried steak which was cooked to perfection. We were greeted promptly and got our beverages immediately. The tea was fresh brewed and my boyfriend was happy they served Pepsi products. The staff are all so friendly and genuinely seemed to enjoy their jobs. The place was busy and I can see why. It’s a warm atmosphere and we will definitely be regulars. Next time I’m getting the berry pancakes, they looked sinful!

The service overall was good. Our server was very nice and accommodating. The restaurant inside was oddly quiet, idk if it was just quiet people or the way the building structure. But it just made it seem like a library. I ordered the jumbo breakfast. The eggs were good, the bacon was just how I like it(not too crispy), and the hash browns were perfect(crisp but not burnt on the outside) The pancakes, however, were not fully cooked through and we’re still doughy, all three of them. The two people I was with didn’t really care for their waffles, which is unfortunate for a place called waffle corner. They did like everything else, eggs, toast, has browns etc. Overall, the place is new so maybe they just need to Get the kinks out? It definitely has potential for being a good breakfast place, but my soggy pancakes left me disappointed, but it could have just been an unfortunate incident. I would definitely give them another try.

I love to support new privately owned establishments so on rainy Sunday we braved the weather to give it a try. We were greeted as we walked in by staff and shown to our clean booth. The menu is uncomplicated and offers great options! We had the berry and banana pancakes and the garden eggs benedict. The fruit on top of the fluffy pancakes was fresh and not overly sweet. The hollandaise was perfect — just the right amount of rich to tart — and the poached eggs had firm whites with soft yolks. The veggies beneath the eggs were sauteed spinach, mushrooms and onions and we’re a great addition to the benedict. The only down side was were the country potatoes ad they lacked seasoning, but cooked just right. I Love good breakfast places and I think we found a great new restaurant in our neighborhood and we’ll definitely be going back.

This is a brand new restaurant located where Marie Callender’s used to be. They serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
