An excellent time with my YE Friends. I must say this was a fun and enjoyable event. I walked thru the door and in the booth to the left were Michelangelo and«Tiger.» I dropped my white elephant gift bag in the center of the table and immediately ordered a glass of house red. We enjoyed a sampler appetizer tray with Shady Lady’s famous pork rinds. In addition I ordered duck tots and everything was scrumptious. After a while of super good conversation, food, and drink we decided it was time for the big exchange. Mic wrote down numbers on pieces of paper and placed them in the«Tiger stocking.» One by one we each took turns drawing a pice of paper from Tiger, which dictated our order to pick or «steal» a gift. And yes @ Mic, this was the most civil«nice» white elephant gift exchange I have been to in my life… It was so respectable, not that it makes a difference but uhhhhh. for the record, I think I woulda stolen Mic’s gift till he licked it that was hilarious. Shout outs: It was great to see you Wizard and I am delighted to know that the Wiz actually does walk on water(hee hee ;). Van and Koy looked beautiful all dressed up for the holidays. I like the jingly sound you made when you arrived sorta like Santa’s little elves(although I don’t know what elves sound like… just sayin. Jessica and Paul showed up before their dinner engagement, such a dapper couple… happy birthday Jess, and I hope that whatever Paul gets you sparkles! @ Jefe R, you are a hoot! And You make a great«innocent» little aviator cocktail sipping elf! Lastly, I would like to thank you Michelango for putting this on. You are awesome and I appreciate all that you do for Unilocal. You picked a great venue as the Shady Lady is such a sweet victorian style bar in the heart of midtown… perfect. The service here was excellent as the server came by our table often to check on our group. I will most definitely return to enjoy a proper meal at the shady in the future. Happy holidays to all and Festivus to the rest f us!

Shady Lady Delivers«Festivus» Magic 2 Days Out From Christmas! SITREP …or as some of us say, «Christmas Eve Eve!» It was time to herald Christmas-Week with some style &ADULTBEVERAGES! And since some of us are still be here in Sacramento, it was a nice time to *pop* by quick visit before taking off for all points beyond! THESETUP So a trek down to The Shady Lady Saloon brought us to their Happy Hour where«enter $ 5 Happy Hour small plates» & some chill hand-crafted cocktail drinks with our best Unilocalies! THEMENU! Shady Lady features many Happy Hour specials running during the weekdays from 3pm-6pm, featuring many of their appetizer plates — normally running from $ 7-$ 10, for only $ 5. And they include many of their iconic appetizer items, including: * Duck Tots, * Mac N’ Cheese Balls, * Fried Green Tomatoes, * Sliders, * And many more, etc. There is also Happy Hour Discounts going on both drafts & mixed drinks as well. Mixed Drinks run $ 3. Fancy Cocktails run $ 5. Olympia draft beer is only $ 2 a pint! ROTDC BTW, «What is an ROTDC?», you may ask? Well let me tell ya folks! As my fellow Unilocalie Katie G.(Sacramento’s new Marketing Director) will tell you, an ROTDC is a fun tradition coming from Austin, TX — namely, if you got a Review-Of-The-Day, then at some point in time it is imperative to have a «Review-Of-The-Day-CELEBRATION»(ROTDC! — emphasis on the«C»!) at the location of «said”-ROTD! And since I got an ROTD for«The Shady Lady Saloon» back on May 24, 2013, it was high time to celebrate that UYE-ROTDC and help herald Christmas Week with a *Bang!* GIFTEXCHANGE! We did a gift exchange and here is where the hiLARity ensued! Lucy went all out on «Gift Presentation», down to writing a small novella that(Bday girl) Jessica had to read along with the presentation of each individual in the package! Other participants, including Evangelina, Koi and myself really made out with the cool gifts we got for the exchange. And it was SO.DAM.POLITE! Not of us «stole» gifts from each other. We seemed content on focusing on a very pleasant evening of cocktails and mirth, and just enjoyable settled for an unchosen gift from the pile. [Check out the pictures — it was quite fun!] ROUNDTABLEAWESOMENESS I should have also stated we got the large circular booth which was our centerpiece for the nearly dozen of us that showed up for the event. Jessica’s sweetie, Paul was present as well, as was my colleague Charles T. And we got a surprise visit from my fellow musketeer Jefe R., the über-Yelper of Dixon(yes, there is one!). KUDOS A shout-out to Alison who was our stellar server — she kept the food, drinks a’comin and kept taking our«dirties» away in good time! THELOWDOWN Giving you all a very warm wish to enjoy your Holidays wherever and whatever(with whomever) you share them with! ;)
