For a nice quiet place to eat on campus this is the place for you! Waited 20 min for water and finally just had to ask for it after asking for it when ordering. Food is good as well as the prices. Waited another 5 min to pay. But make sure you have some time on your hands because they are a little on the slower side.

Great to have a another choice outside of fast food on campus! Upon entering, I found myself surrounded by a true restaurant feel. A little hidden gem amongst the hustle and bustle of my finals week. I had time between classes to sit for a bit and decided to eat lunch on the patio, backpack in tow. A Caesar salad and blue moon later, I know I will be back every time I’m in need of a full belly. $ 10 for my delicious salad and spirit! Can’t find that anywhere else on campus! !! It was nice to escape the cafeteria feel and choices. ADVERTISEMORETOSTUDENTS!!! We make up about 99% of your potential clients! Two thumbs up CSUS for providing this option! With a bit more word of mouth, I know you’ll see us filling those seats! (Ps. It’s across from Round Table Pizza in the Union)

After the Union renovations, this place was renamed the Epicure Restaurant. Every time I’ve been here, it was practically empty. I guess being open only 3 hours a day at lunch on weekdays has something to do with it, but there are other factors. The only person working there at the time(I think there was another one lingering around somewhere) tended to make a lap around the room to see if any of the guests needed anything and then would disappear for 10 minutes. Three of us had the Chicken Club and each half of our sandwiches was a different size. We compared our sandwiches and it looked like the bread came from the same loaf, but they mixed and matched who got which pieces(end pieces tend to be smaller than the middle). It would have been a decent sandwich if the chicken wasn’t dried out. The side salad came with no dressing and we had to ask for it separately. Another person from our group had a cup of soup and it came in a little tea cup. They asked for crackers(assuming they were going to be Saltine) and got Ritz crackers instead. For a $ 9 meal, any other eatery in the Union probably would have been better.

Who would’ve known that a restaurant like this would be deep in the heart of the Sac State campus? Frequented by visitors, faculty, staff and probably students, the food here is pretty good. Typical American fare such as burgers, paninis, pasta, quiche and salads. They also have special seasonal menus and the occasional buffet. I tried their Thanksgiving buffet special($ 11.95 — bevs not included). I sampled the: * Turkey with Cranberries(good — not dry. Very important!) * Stuffing(a bit too salty for my taste) * Mashed Potatoes(ehh — pretty typical fare) * Eggplant Parmesan(see above comment) * Pumpkin/Butternut Squash Soup(very good!), * Apple cobbler(the waitress raved about it, but I found it to be ordinary) What really stood out was the service! Attentive, but not obtrusive. My client was late so I was well looked after during the waiting time. The inside kind of reminds me of a hotel restaurant. Linen tablecloths and napkins covered the tables and there is even an outdoor seating area! Totally see the potential in hosting an event here. While dining, you can look out the windows and see students busily walking by, kind of makes you feel young again. Oh wait, you ARE young? Oh. Well, now I feel old.
