The Painting System

My wife, three kids, and myself bought a new summer house in Sacramento with 5 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms, and a giant pool over looking the city. The entire house was in desperate need of a paint job so i went asking people around the area where they got there place painted through. All i kept hearing was call Frank the best paint company in the entire city. So i called The Painting Systems and they were out giving me a quote within the hour and surprisingly, it was the best quote and they finished the job within the month of January. I would refer them to ever i know in the Sacramento area forever.

I read the reviews and frankly I had a very different experience than the 1 star folks. Sometimes I wonder what really happened. Perspective you know?
I called The Painting System out after getting a referral from a friend who used them and several of their neighbors. After seeing their homes and how well they looked I added him to my list of companies I would get quotes from.
Frank came out and quoted me verbally as someone else had stated, then he gave me a written quote, guess what, it was the same price unlike the other reviewer. And just so you know it was less than half of everyone else’s price. They did MORE than what they quoted, not less. Our wood in some areas was in bad shape due to the previous owner not maintaining it. They went in, sanded, caulked and painted and now it looks as close to new as possible. He had to match older paint because we could only paint half of the house, and he had to use about 3 coats because the wood was so dry and in need of a protective layer. The job was done in one day, we did about 3 walk throughs, one in the beginning, one in the middle, making sure all my concerns were addressed and one at the end. My home looks beautiful, they cleaned everything up, not one speck of paint anywhere it wasn’t supposed to be.
Honestly for the quote I was quoted, I was leery because it was so much less. However, the job was done the way I would have expected having paid much more. Alfredo Rocks, Frank is great. Give them a try. They are affordable, and use quality products.

Don’t be charmed by the owner’s apparent sincerity. He might seem like an affable old friend but it will be his lousy paint job that you’ll have to live with. Not only careless and incomplete but frankly deceptive in some cases. And hard to reach after the job is finished. Avoid at all costs! Or should I say, avoid at any cost.

The only reason I gave one star was because I can’t do any lower.
I am pissed at this paint job. It has been 2−½ years since the house was painted and today I noticed the paint was chipping off and crackss on the stucco were showing up.
the 12 step preparation plan is bogus. Do not fall for this company. You have been warned. Don’t do it, Don’t do it… Lets see if they honor their 10 year guarantee.

This company painted the exterior of my home and my neighbor’s house across the street. The contractor was very nice and personable. The two guys who painted my house were very detailed and thorough in their work. In fact, the job was so well done that one of my friends hired them to paint the interior of their house. They were pleased with the work, but didn’t feel they got as good of a price as I got. I think I got a discount because they were painting the house across the street at about the same time as mine.
I am baffled by the bad reviews, but maybe there is a new crew of painters. My house was painted about 8 years ago and the paint is still holding up beautifully, as is my neighbor’s house.

These guys came out and painted the rental we were living in. The quote was free and they fit us into their schedule in a reasonable amount of time. Based on the other quotes we got, theirs was right in the middle for pricing and they did a bunch of preparation on the house. Very impressed by the efficiency of the crew and knowledgeability of the contractor.

Stay away… far away from this outfit! We specified 2 colors, one for walls and one for trim. When we came back, they had reversed them! And they claimed we wanted it that way? Then, on the walkthrough, I politely pointed out multiple areas of shoddy trim work. At that point, the guy told me that I was expecting too much of a quality job for the price. Huh? If you were going to do a substandard job, wouldn’t you have needed to tell me that at the beginning? Then he got literally irate, yelling and cursing, and refused to give a promised discount. Very threatening, very unprofessional, very much never getting my business again!

This guy quoted us verbally. Then he came back and quoted us verbally with a different number and then came back a third time and quoted us with yet another number and cited paint colors we had never discussed.
When we tried to straighten out why the erratic behavior and the continually changing numbers he accused us of asking for additional discounts (we did not, he offered every discount in play) and became verbally harsh. Then he sent us an (IMO) passive aggressive email blaming the whole thing on us and withdrawing the quote (s) that he never finalized in writing in the first place. Bizarre.
Avoid.

Frank is extremely personable. Unfortunately, I was paying for a painter, not a friend.
His crew specialized in being fast, not thorough. We were charged an extra $ 500 for a lead-​paint treatment, which we never saw any evidence of sanding of the old paint.
The «slurry coat» must have gone on, been worked into the cracks and holes in record time, because the initial wall coat went down the same day. And the cracks and holes came back. And flaked!
The walk-​around found many cases of the original color showing through and flaking that had to be gone over again.
The trim was a joke.
After four weeks I am still finding areas to touch up.
