I came here for the first time for dinner and I was absolutely stunned by the amazing service and the class they had. The food was small portioned but so flavorful. Apart from the first course and the second course, the chef brings out a little sample of something to try. As well as in between the first and second course, they brought out a lemon cucumber sorbet as a pallet cleanser and it was delicious. The whole experience was amazing and I came out really full and I did not expect that(because of the portions) definitely a must try! I will go back again.

Stunningly beautiful venue and spectacular service. Due to unfortunate circumstances with another venue’s contract, we were less than three months before the wedding without a venue. While walking down an alley in old town, I caught a glimpse of the courtyard and our decision was made. The courtyard is surrounded by vine covered brick walls with two beautiful trees that provide shade and iron wrought gates and lamps throughout. A charming, southern-style garden. We were very lucky that the day we planned to marry was available at Firehouse. Beyond the beauty of the venue itself, the service provided was impeccable. Special shout out to the events coordinator, Randy. I’ve worked quite a few events, even a few weddings when I was younger, and he is a true professional. While it took awhile(aka bridezilla awhile – a couple days) for Firehouse to get back to me upon the initial contract and setting the meeting, once we had the meeting, I knew I was in good hands. Gone were my all of day of logistical wedding worries, Randy knew exactly what he was doing. We went into our initial meeting with an idea of how we wanted the night to run, Randy transformed our rough outline into a detailed schedule and provided a vision for the evening. What I appreciated most was his professional advice and expertise. Looking back, his guidance was certainly the most valuable part of planning our wedding with Firehouse. The staff at Firehouse simply goes above and beyond – and it makes all the difference. The food was fantastic. The mac and cheese bar was a lovely touch for late night eats after dancing. While the venue itself needs very little decorating, the staff at Firehouse set up our decorations that we dropped off the night before. This was a life saver. Before the wedding, I thought it was very convenient and a nice perk – one that I would pay extra for. After the wedding, this was a life saver. I had no idea I would be so busy the day of. They did a wonderful job setting up the decorations. They even staged the cupcakes for us. Again, I’m blown away by their expertise and professionalism. Can ya give Randy a raise already?! Venue: gorgeous. Whimsical and beautiful in the day transforms into a magical night. Service: the best. I’ve said it over and over. Top notch. Location: ideal. Their are hotels down the street that people can walk to and old town is a cute place to spend the weekend for out of towners. Food: fantastic If you are looking for a stress free, beautiful outdoor wedding with superb food, I would whole-heartedly recommend Fireshouse. When I look back at our wedding from a planning perspective, you’d think my first thought would go to the stunning beauty of the courtyard, but I can’t say it enough – the professionalism of the staff is truly what stood out. The only thing I would have done different is rent a dance floor.

We spent a week in the Sacramento area and my wife insisted we have lunch at the Firehouse after touring the train museum. It was 230pm when we dined so you would assume the service would be slow and the staff worn out after the lunch crowd. But no, everyone was alert, cordial and still working hard. I had the pork chop and my wife had a salad and some fancy mushroom puff. Excellent. I ordered the Chardonnay flight which was carefully selected from oaky to very oaky. My wife was envious and ended up ordering a glass of the okiest, 3013 El Molino. We sat in the courtyard which was lovely.

Very nice environment in restaurant, fit into the old traditional nice serving type of american dinner. Food was great, their daily catch of fish is always great to try. Lamb and beef are also cooked to perfection with medium rare. The cucumber sorbet to help refresh your taste buds during different part of the meal is also something that makes the experience more enjoyable. Recommend for special occasions! Be sure to reserve on special dates.

Amazing amazing amazing! Every single person working here are very friendly and welcoming. The bartender, host, our waiter… Loved talking to them. The ambiance is gorgeous and very clean. I loved eating dinner out in the courtyard, just absolutely beautiful. The meal was perfecto! I’m definitely coming back! One of the best restaurants in Sacramento.
Hands down best happy hour in old sac and possibly a top 10 spot in all sacto. I typically start off with a dozen of their raw oysters which rotate weekly and vary between Fannie Bay, miyagi, and kumamotos. The oysters come with amazing mignonette sauce and lemon, no Tabasco needed. I wash the oysters down with one of their 4 local Sacramento beers on tap(ruhstaller, track 7, yolo, and a house special firehouse IPA). If I’m there for dinner I’ll top it off with either the pork belly sliders and/or fish tacos. Also for veggie lovers they have portobello mushroom sliders which are equally as tasty.

We were in Sacramento for a funeral service and by the time the service was over we were all very hungry. We called this place and their closing time was 9:30 it was already past that time and they gladly accommodated our large group. We were quickly sat at our table and served. Our waiter was very patient with our large group and was able to get everyone served in a timely manner. Our food was AMAZING I had the chefs special which was halibut and some mashed potatoes as well as a side salad. Everyone else had either filet mignon or the pork belly. Everything looked amazing and everyone loved their dinner. A great surprise was the cucumber sorbet, best sorbet ever. This place gets an A++ Everything about this place is awesome and they were so kind to accommodate us at such a late hour. I will definitely come back next time I am in Sacramento.

The Firehouse is one of our favorite restaurants, and it never disappoints. Today Vicky and I were able to enjoy eating in the Firehouse Courtyard. It is beautiful and the weather was quite nice. The sandwiches we had were great and now looking forward to the dessert that comes with the prix fixe menu(for Administrative Assistant’s day).

This was one of the best anniversaries my wife and I had and it was because of our trip to the Firehouse. When we first entered the restaurant it had a feel of traditional but elegant style. Reservation was for 7PM but we arrived early at around 630 and we were taken directly to our table and seated. The staff was courteous and professional. We look at the menu and wanted to sample on the dance often so we ordered two different several course meals they offered. Every dish was tastier than the last. The flavors that to create a wonderful dining experience. The sorbet to cleanse the palate came just at the proper time so that the rest of the meal was not tainted by the strong taste of what came previously. I definitely suggest this restaurant to anyone looking for a place to go for special occasions. However do not limit yourself because there were two gentleman there who ate by themselves to treat themselves to a good meal and great atmosphere.

My husband made dinner reservations for our first anniversary. You can feel the awkwardness almost immediately as you enter from the bar area because nobody bothers to acknowledge you until 10 – 15 steps in. We probably looked a little lost wondering who to check in with :| The hostess made eye contact but decided that a ringing phone was more important to answer at that time. So, that’s my only spiel. The courtyard wasn’t open yet but, apparently, we were seated at the romantic spot of the room — I had a tantalizing view of the thermostat. Haha, it was better than sitting where the rest of the tables were so snug you can hear neighboring conversations. I didn’t take pictures of our meal because it was dim and I knew that it would not do the food any justice. I liked the sampler appetizer and the surprise cucumber sorbet. It felt like a «Princess Diaries» moment to «cleanse the palate.» I don’t recommend the blood orange duck, you might as well splurge for the filet mignon. It was nice of the manager to ask us how we’re doing a couple times. We appreciated the chocolate message on our dessert. I will admit that the penmanship could be improved, though. Even if the lighting was better, I wouldn’t take a picture of that XD Overall, still a good experience for a special occasion. This review is already longer than usual and, looking back, I probably would have given the last star had I not set my expectations as high.

It’s pretty rare that I give a restaurant 5-stars. But they definitely deserve it. From the moment you enter the restaurant, someone is there to greet you. Once we were called for our table — they walked us over to the courtyard. Beautiful restaurant plus the weather was perfect. But anyways, about the food… We decided to come in for their Easter Brunch, which they offered a pre-fixed menu. We started off with an assortment of pastries, fresh fruit, smoked salmon rillettes, charcuterie meats served with crostini. I must say… the smoke salmon was delicious! For the entrée, I chose the filet mignon with a cauliflower purée with herb roasted potatoes. Man oh man, the filet mignon was cooked PERFECTLY. I made sure I finished every bite. My boyfriend ordered the pork belly and sweet potato hash. He loved every bite! It was filled with all kinds of flavors. Lastly, there was dessert! I had some sort of vanilla bean cake and smores! The vanilla cake was delicious! Smores was good, but we found it to be a bit too chocolatey. Overall — we had an amazing time. the location was gorgeous, customer service was fantastic and the food was amazing. I can’t wait to go back for dinner! On a side note… I went back a few days later to check out their Happy hour… i’d definitely recommend going! Decent prices and amazing food options!

Alright, Ive lived in Sacramento for quite some time since moving from the Bay Area and Ive always heard about this place and never been there. Every time I Unilocal’d areas for fancy dinners, this spot always came up as being one of the top, but still I’ve never gave it a shot. Well that day finally came this past Easter. The girlfriend and I wanted to come here for their Easter brunch. Once we arrived we ordered a couple glasses of their house Champagne and it was delicious and refreshing, even at 12PM. We were seated in the courtyard outside and it was nothing Ive ever experienced for brunch. The service was excellent and very prompt. The menu was set so my main focus on my review here were the two entrees that we had ordered. We ordered the pork belly hash with sweet potato and mushroom. Every single bite had different layers of flavor and it was savory from start to finish. We also ordered the filet mignon, and let me tell you, it was like butter. So tender and they cooked it to perfection. We ended up eating that dish very slowly to savor each bite. I can’t wait to come back here for dinner and to participate with their everyday menu. The Easter brunch was a nice way for me to finally try this place out and they did not fail to impress. FIVESTARS!

I’ve had the pleasure of enjoying the full dining experience here in the past and it is always been wonderful. Food is delicious and the service is exceptional. However, today, I am here to review for the happy hour. As The Firehouse is known to be one of Sacramento’s finest, it is no surprise that their menu for happy hour is astonishing. I recently discovered that Firehouse offers a dozen oysters for only $ 12. I’ve never ran across a better deal for oysters in my life! They rotate out the type of oysters served from time to time so it’s always a bit of surprise as to what you’ll get. I was told that they serve a different type of oysters for their regular dining option oppose to happy hour. Rest assure, the quality is just as great! They tasted fresh and bright with the addition of mignonette sauce. In addition to the oysters, their pork belly sliders are incredibly scrumptious. The pork belly simply melts in your mouth the second you take a bite into it. Definitely something I would highly recommend. I’d also like to note that the bartender, Jim was an absolute delight to be served by. He was attentive and hilarious. Man got jokes, that’s for sure! With a happy hour this great, I’ll certainly be around more often.

We found the Firehouse Restaurant through Unilocal and then actually ran into it when we were wandering around old town Sacramento. It’s a beautiful restaurant with impeccable service from our bartender/waiter Jim as we sat in the bar to have happy hour. The happy hour menu was a few select choices of some small plate appetizers that were delicious. We had a smoked pork carpaccio. 2 different cheese plates. One with Brie and goat cheese and the Brie was so delicious we ordered a double Brie one next time. Both served with fresh honeycomb and dried fruits and nuts. Smoked pork belly sliders. Bowl of medIterranean olives. The have a valet and if you check in with Unilocal they will comp the $ 7 parking.

Amazing service and great food! We had hors d’oeuvres of grilled shrimp, bruschetta, and stuffed mushrooms. All were well prepared and well seasoned. Main course of filet mignon, lobster tail, vegetables, and mashed potatoes were all fantastic and prepped to perfection. Even the coffee and cheesecake dessert were on point. With service that treats you like royalty this is a great place.

Oh my gosh! What an amazing dinner. Solid five stars on all counts. This is one of those classic, been here forever, top quality, high end restaurants that have survived for the best of reasons; the food, service, and ambiance are all top notch. We were greeted very cordially by the hostess and were taken to our table. We asked if we could sit a different table that was tucked away in a little alcove. Our hostess said we absolutely could sit there. Off to a great start. We were then created right away by our server and were offered drinks and brought an amuse bouche. Lovely, yummy little tidbit of salmon and sauce and cracker. We were also brought a basket of warm, fresh bread and to nibble on while perusing and sipping. We decided on the special 55th Anniversary Menu for $ 55 a person. A very good deal. Our first course was a salad or soup. I had the mixed green salad with walnuts, goat cheese an apples with a light tangy vinaigrette dressing. My husbanded opted for the crab and potato-leek bisque. The salad was very good, the soup was amazing. Would drive to Sacramento for a bowl of the soup. The main course was Chateaubriand with mashed potatoes and fresh vegetable. The meat was absolute perfection. Butter tender, flavorful meat cooked to specification with just enough Beranaise sauce to add richness and flavor, but not so much as to overwhelm the meat. And for the finale, we had the Crème Brûlée and a Kaluah Dark-Chocolate Pave. Of the two, the chocolate pave was the stand out. All of this was served seamlessly presented to us by Dale with professional ease and charm. The main dining room is beautiful and resplendent with flowers, linen, silver, and crystal with gilded mirrors and chandeliers. Elegant but not in least bit stuffy. This is a special occasion restaurant worth the trip to Old Town Sac. Expensive? Oh yes, but worth it.

My husband and I came here for our anniversary and enjoyed the Farm to Fork menu. We started out with the Artisanal Cheese plate. It had the traditional cheeses you expect on a cheese plate: Brie, bleu, goat and a sharp cheddar. It also came with honey which paired well with the Brie. There were several courses included and all were worth noting but I will stick with my favorites. The tomato bisque was very good. The salmon was mouth-watering. Cooked perfectly and seasoned just right so that it tasted like no other salmon I have had in the past. The dessert was my absolute favorite. The apple fritter(I believe was the name?) was so rich and flavorful. My only regret is eating too much before that came out and not being about to finish it. We also enjoyed a couple of cocktails– all of which were refreshing. Beware that the Chipotle Mojito– is very, very spicy! As my husband described«boy, it burns for a long time.» Service was outstanding. The wait staff was extremely attentive and made wonderful suggestions.

My co-workers and I came here a couple weeks ago to celebrate a couple birthdays. Firehouse has been on my restaurant bucket list for quite some time, so I was super stoked my colleagues chose to celebrate their birthdays here. My boyfriend and I arrived a little early and had a glass of wine at the bar while we waited for everyone to arrive. He had a Petite Syrah and I had a Malbec. I didn’t realize it when I ordered my wine, but the label for the Malbec meant stubborn(tercos). Which is probably one of the most perfect pairings between wine drinker and wine. The flavor was good too, but the name was an added bonus. For dinner, I had the catch of the day which was salmon served with gazpacho(see pic). The flavor was simply amazing. I savored every bite. My boyfriend had the heirloom tomato bisque and the steak delmonico. I had a small bite of the bisque and the steak. The soup was a bite of heaven and the steak was perfection. We also shared the chocolate peanut butter gianduja which consisted of honeycomb, candied pecans, honey foam, and chocolate gelato. If I wasn’t in a classy restaurant and eating with other people, I would have considered licking the plate clean. The service was very polite and what one would expect from an upscale restaurant. I was very pleased with my dining experience and look forward to my next visit.
