So tired of False advertisement. They listed microbrews on special for 3.50 but not the one I bought wasn’t one of them. They obviously tell you this after you buy it… just pisses me off. I’m done buying any booze from this bar. Then the bartender had to be a jerk about it after I explained to him there’s no disclaimer and it should be noted. They need to treat the local clientele better.

Home away from home. Bartenders are fantastic and friendly, drinks are good and strong, cheap! pitchers are cheap. ATM in the corner when you come in, for those who don’t have cash in hand for the Cash Only bar. Pool tables in the«middle,» great back bar in which to smoke, sheltered from the elements. Add in some tasty food in the back bar and it’s aces. Best place to watch the baseball games, for sure. Wednesday Trivia nights are awesome, and it’s a good weekend option away from the craziness of Faces and Badlands.

I’ve been here a few times and have always had a good time. This time I came in to play pool as the clubs weren’t up and going yet. I was happy to see one pool table was open. We went to the bar and for a $ 5 depot the pool table is yours. From there you can play as many games as you want at only $ 1 each. Make sure the pool table is on before you put your quarters in. It’s been a long time since I’ve been here and forgot how friendly and nice everyone is. Especially the staff. I also learned that Badlands and The Depot are owned by the same place so you will see staff walking back and forth and they are more than happy to help you or get someone that can. That was a huge plus. I was so shocked when a women with a Badlands shirt went above and beyond to help me. We will be back. 7up is only $ 2 just in case you were wondering. The iced drink was perfect on the hot evening. Thank again for a great time. I love this place and keep coming back because it’s a fun party spot and there isn’t a cover. You don’t feel bad just popping in and out.

Ugh I have no respect for places that are cash only and don’t have signs saying so. Seriously how hard would it be to put a sign above your bar saying«cash only», you have a 8×10 paper advertising $ 5 root beer shots so… It’s especially misleading when you clearly have cash registers that have the ability to take card as well. And it’s not that much more expensive for businesses to set that up. That issue combined with the rude girl who made some remark about my boyfriend not being able to read the bathroom signs, because«that’s the problem with men since they’re always so drunk“Um.he had one drink and we’ve never been here before but ok. Definitely won’t be back

Let me just say that you put a string of amazing 90’s videos on and that is all I need to make me happy! Met up with some of my pals here for my birthday celebration and the music videos had me from the get go! We danced and drank cheap pitchers of cheap beer and it was fun. The bartenders were both nice and fun and the bearded one was super cute so that didn’t hurt either. Great vibe here very laid back chill bar, didn’t hurt that my friends are fun and love to dance.

I came here Friday night for Hush Ladies Night which is a ladies night that is supposed to be held the 1st Friday of every month. This was my first time attending this event, so I was looking forward to it and had higher than average expectations because I just went to a good lesbian event last Friday night at Sidetrax. First of all, I noticed that the event was not well advertised(at least for this particular month) since I couldn’t find a flyer or event page on facebook even late last week and the flyer for Hush Ladies night on The Depot’s website was still for the June event. The event was supposed to start at 9 p.m. and advertised that ladies were free. This made me assume that men would have to pay some kind of fee to enter, but when we arrived there that didn’t seem to be the case. It’s not that I was opposed to men being there, it’s just that my friends and I didn’t have a few male friends come because we thought that there would be a cover for them. Perhaps unsurprisingly, the bar was not super full right at 9 p.m., but it didn’t seem empty either. There was at least half men when I arrived at 9 p.m. and when I left and came back at 12:30 a.m., there was more people, but still not a lot of lesbians considering it was Ladies Night. The bartender who made my and my friend’s drinks was nice and answered a few questions that I had. I asked what she could make with Absolut Pears and she made me a cosmo using it and the same for my friend but with Absolut Citron. Then I found out the bar was CASHONLY and had to go hit up the ATM next to the bar for cash and pay the $ 3 fee. The bar itself is small and doesn’t seem to have a real dance floor. There were two go go dancers that were on a small stage in front of the bar and they were probably the highlight of the night since the people watching wasn’t as good as I was hoping it would be. My friend said that the turnout of Hush Ladies Night seems to vary depending on the month, but it seems to me that they need to work on having the event be more consistent. I’m willing to come back to give Hush Ladies Night another try, but I had a better time at Sidetrax last week.

Stopped in for the first time the other night and had a great time. Our first bartender was not the most attentive or friendly, but she was at the end of her shift and I assume she was tired. But the other two bartenders we had couldn’t have been nicer! They have amazing happy hour deals, nothing like Phoenix, and great music with a wide variety.

Love the Depot. There’s lots of open windows so it is never stuffy. The drinks are really cheap and there’s pool and they have cool events every so often. Bartenders are always super nice. Great music went on DJ request night and there was a nice mix of 80’s to modern selection. Always have a great time here.

I like this bar, always chill vibe. Nice place to hang. I went in one time about a year ago? and literally all the bartenders were being total dicks… they were not the regular bartenders and I have never seen any of them since. They acted like I was a 12 year old that was trying to sneak into the bar… it’s the doorman’s job to check my ID so I was a bit confused and annoyed. The bartenders since then have been super nice to me and attentive to my needs.

This is one of the more«chill» bars in the gayborhood. Most other places are a bit more wild and crazy, The Depot is a bit more casual and relaxed. There’s a couple pool tables, and Mondays are free pool. They host several events and have specials on certain days of the week. They always have good drink deals like $ 2 you-call-it’s, or buy one get out for $ 1, and so on. Good service, good music, good vibes. All around, a nice, laid back bar in midtown.

Coming from Fort Lauderdale, where music video bars are the BOMB, Depot’s VJ’s are sure to bore you to tears! Where are the comedy skits? Where is the NEW relevant music? Where is the fun? Sadly, not here.

When Badlands and Faces gets to be too much, I like to head over to The Depot to chill out. The Depot has a full bar, videos, pool tables, and a smoking patio out back. The VJs are on top of current pop music, as well as old club favorites, and will throw on a funny TV clip from time to time. Depending on the day and time, they’ll play full episodes of TV shows, such as American Idol. Beautiful, larger-than-life drag queens host Wednesday night trivia(9pm) and it’s the best trivia I’ve been to in midtown as far as categories and prizes. There are varying drink specials every night, including F.A.G. Fridays(Fabulous And Gay) BOGO cocktails from 5pm to 7pm.

I like the depot. People are friendly, they have funny and sometimes mindblowing videos on the screens to watch while you are drinking. Prices are fine and its good times. I don’t stay for very long for whatever reason, but I do enjoy it while I am there. Give it a go!

We have been to this bar a handful of times when we are in this area. All you need is know that it the bartenders have heavy hands and there is no cover to get in. This place is definitely a dive, but it has a lot of space and they usually have great 90’s music playing throughout the night. I usually order the whiskey and coke and they are not skimpy about their portion. A pint glass was filled up with ice, the ratio is usually 75% whiskey and 25% coke = 100% awesome. We usually do not have any trouble finding a pool table. Even if the tables are occupy, you can ask the patron if you can hop on next and they are usually really nice about it. Cheap drinks, no cover, 90’s music. What more can you ask for. Downside: Cash only bar.

I generally visit Depot whenst in the gayborhood. It’s to the point, plain and simple. Friendly bar keeps, stiff drinks at a reasonable price, and I have never experienced a cover charge like some of their neighbors. It’s small, but a pretty open space, nothing fancy. Most recently came on NYE and had a blast, made 7 bucks on the balloon drop, score.

While I am not usually a fan of cash only bars The Depot has all kinds of charm. Stopped in with a new pal on my first tour of Lavender Heights… did I get that right? The crowd here is a bit younger than I but super friendly and welcoming. I shared that I was new to Sacramento and was greeted with hugs and email addresses. Why thank you y’all!

Line to LowBrau’s got you down? Don’t want to pay for the cover at Badlands, or for expensive drinks at Faces? I’ve opted for well-priced drinks at the never-too-crowded Depot several times this past month, and it never disappoints. It’s a pretty mixed crowd(you’ve got your gays, your straights, and the occasional tighty-whitey-wearing jello shot boy…), which always makes for good people watching. And if the people watching *inside* isn’t doin it for ya, they’ve got seats facing open windows that look out over 20th Street, where there’s never a dull moment after 10pm. Not a bad place to end your night, or even do some day drinking.

I’ve been here about twice(both on Second Saturday) and have enjoyed both occassions. The atmosphere here is very chill and relaxing. The staff is super nice and friendly. They have pool tables! Which is nice and good change of pace from the typical bar scene in downtown Sacramento. The bar is cash only!!! So be prepared. Drinks are pretty strong, which is always nice.

It was the end of a long night and I was told that The Depot was the place to go to get my groove on. It wasn’t, but I still had a decent time anyway. There isn’t anything too remarkable about this little corner bar in the Lavender District. I was told it caters more to the lesbian crowd but I saw a good mix of men and women there. We stood around a center table and talked amongst ourselves for a while while drinking various concoctions from their standard selection of alcohol. I would have liked to play pool but the one table in the back had a long line of waiting competitors. So I ended up entertaining myself by watching old Aerosmith videos and clips from The Rocky Horror Picture Show on the overhead video monitor. My nostalgia for reliving the early 90’s through music video quickly faded and we called it a night.

I consider The Depot a gay dive bar, and my favorite one at that. It stands out as a low-key little corner bar on the same corner as its big neon club companions. Much like its club counterparts, The Depot has strong drinks, numerous screens playing music videos, and a smoking area in the back. Unlike its club counterparts, the drinks are cheaper, it’s quieter and much more casual. There’s pool tables in the back bar area. I’ve been here on weeknights, on weekends, on pub quiz night, on Leather Porn Party night, on St. Patrick’s Day, on Halloween, on New Years, hell I’m going there tonight to the RuPaul première party… I like Depot any night of the year! It’s a great place to grab a cheap drink with friends(or even better, grab a few cheap drinks before going over to Badlands or Faces!)
