Found a piece of rubberband in my tacos. Tacos tasted plain. Dirty looking place. Cashier wasn’t paying attention when taking order thus got the order wrong when it came out. Salsas/pico looked old. Convenient location for me and cheap but not worth it. Never going back. Super gross.

This place is definitely a hidden gem. It is very small and all by itself bit don’t let that fool you! This place is AMAZING! The tacos are just the best. Very simple but very flavorful and the shrimp and seafood cocktail– OMGoodness I could eat that everyday! The service is great! Everyone is so nice and the have a drive thru! Taco Tuesdays get pretty busy at lunch time but so so worth the wait!

Very convenient location, off Hwy 50 and near Sacramento State. I needed a quick bite while driving through town that would be cheap and fast. This place fit the bill. We ordered two carne asada super burritos, one with guacamole, one without. They have photos of their menu items, and the barbacoa fried taco looked good so I added one of those to try. While I was waiting, I asked to the use the bathroom. You have to go outside and reenter through the kitchen to access the bathroom. The bathroom was kind of dingy and dark, but when you need to go, you need to go! The barbacoa taco was piping hot greasy goodness. The onions were a bit overpowering, and it needed some salsa. Overall tasty though, with a satisfying crunch and beef flavor. Great drinking food! The burritos were a little disappointing. The insides were just lukewarm and I didn’t taste the guacamole in mine. The burritos seemed on the small side for a «Super». This place is a bit of a dive, but I wouldn’t mind trying other items on the menu if I returned.

$ 1 taco Tuesdays and the best horchata in Sacramento, need I say more? This place is conveniently located right behind sac state on Folsom Blvd. and has some of the best Mexican food for the price. Definitely try the tacos fundidos if you get a chance, they are delicious.

Not the most horrible thing in the world. But it’s also not the best. The cleanliness of this place is questionable. It needs a good scrub and steam in all the corners and crevaces like seriously. Also there’s a salsa restriction? That’s kinda lame. So my recommendation… go through the drive through so you don’t have to see the greasy brown corners and floor. And definitely order something you’re not going to need a bunch of salsa for.

This will teach me to read the reviews prior to visiting a place! The food here is so bland but what really made me want to leave were all the flies! Yes you heard me flies. This place is a breeding grounds… yuck!

$ 1 Tuesday. Every college students paradise. I just paid $ 500 on my books, and I’m hungry, so every Tuesday I’m coming here for cheap tacos, and they’re not bad at all. It’s not hard to find this place, it’s literally on 65th and Folsom, I think. But it’s by sac state. The building isn’t lavish or elegant just a regular building that has indoor and outdoor seating, that serves Mexican food. They have a wide variety of food: from tacos, burritos, plates, etc… What we ordered: 6 el pastor tacos, 1 chicken taco, 1 Asada taco, 1 shrimp taco, and 1 fish taco. It comes with chips and your choice of salsa from the salsa bar. The shrimp and fish tacos were $ 3. What it tasted like: the pastor is actually very popular at this place on Unilocal,it wasn’t dry, moist, oily, flavorful. It was good. The chicken was dry and the Asada was dry. They were both ok. The fish taco was very good. The dressing on the fish was very good. The shrimp taco, although very oily was very good. They put avocado and I’m sure it was cream cheese as dressing. But the shrimp was drowned in that dressing. It’s very heavy and makes you feel very unhealthy but it was good. I’m pretty much basing my opinions on the fish and shrimp ahahhah because I liked it a lot and the el pastor wasn’t bad at all. I’m going to try a burrito next. It’s only a $ 1 Tuesday you have nothing to lose. Maybe a dollar if you don’t like it ahaha

Located right next to CSUS. Came here for my lunch break for taco Tuesday. You have to buy a minimum of 3 for it to be a dollar, not too shabby! They were pretty good, only complaint was that they were a tad bit oily. The super burrito on the other hand sucked. Ive definitely had better. the tortilla was burnt, and i can’t pinpoint what it is, but it was missing something. Small place, the outside seemed a bit rundown. I drove passed it for years and never even noticed this place. Customer service was friendly however.

My previous review has now been shaded by many a return visit. While the food is still south-of-the-border authentico, the service is hit or miss, which is slowly wearing away on my opinion that Santos Laguna is an incredible hidden gem. I’ll stress again that the menu is top-notch. I’ve sampled everything now from their giant burritos stuffed with well-seasoned steak or chicken to their wet burrito smothered in a piquant house-made green sauce. On the other hand, the service can vary wildly from day-to-day. On one day, I came in during a busy lunch rush and waited half an hour as a grumpy staff of three continually either misheard or mis-made multiple orders ahead of me. The next week I cam in and was greeted by a smiling face and some super speedy service. Then a few days later, when I was literally the only customer, I was snapped at by a grumpy gal with a short temper who made me repeat my simple order multiple times. Maybe there are some staff changes, or maybe it’s even a language barrier. The reasons behind the Jekyll and Hyde service quality are unknown, but they do affect the enthusiasm of frequent eaters like myself. I’ll keep coming back. Just know that the menu is the real star of the show.

this place was okay. I had two shredded beef tacos. one taco had barely any beef and one had a lot. the beef was really saucy and greasy and i don’t really like that in my shredded beef. the salsa bar was on hit though. lots of choices and some very spicy ones which i like. i will go back and try this place again when I’m more hungry.

Great tacos! Especially on Taco Tuesday! $ 1.00 tacos! And they’re only like $ 1.75-$ 2.00 each on any other day! I’d like to go back to try some of their dinners because they looked delicious.

A buddy and I were at the 28th and B/Sutter Landing skate park, and looking for something good to eat. We stopped at Target momentarily, and looked around the area. Having been in the general area previously, we were remembering various chain restaurants – and went the other way. We were passing this place and agreed to try it. They had a typical menu, but customer service didn’t seem to be of any interest to them. The place wasn’t dirty but it didn’t look clean. I ordered carne asada tacos, and my buddy ordered a wet burrito, and we also got chips and salsa. When the man behind the counter asked about drinks, I said Mountain Dew, and my buddy said Dr. Pepper. It was a bit above $ 15, which seemed okay. We were sitting, and he said something, and I went to get the chips and the Dr. Pepper. When I asked about my drink, he «didn’t ring it up», even though I spoke first. I noticed that he kept looking away from me, as if my Mexican-American friend was the only important one. He accepted my money, though. He wanted another $ 2.00 for my soda, and he didn’t mention whether that included refills, and he certainly didn’t apologize. I got some salsa for the chips. The salsa bar had zero labels but there was a warning about taking more than 3(trips/cups/I don’t remember) per order. The orange seemed to be slightly more spicy than the red and the green, of course, was the most mild. I wasn’t sure whether the red and green were duplicated, but some bins were almost empty. After a short time, I heard«carne asada tacos» and walked over to the«Pick up» area, as everyone there already had food. I was surprised that my tacos’ tortillas weren’t fried at all. They seemed to have been pulled from a bag and put on a plate. Then, the mixture of cilantro, onion, and roasted beef was added on top. There were grilled onions added to the plate. The wet burrito seemed huge and what you would expect of one. The chips seemed to have been made days ago. Some seemed to have been fried a second time.

Stopped by this place with a couple friends… It was only okay… They have Taco Tuesdays… Carne asada, chicken and several other choices for a buck(usually 1.79)…legit place for mexican… self served sauces… Takes Credit card(they charge .50 for payments under $ 10) … Lots of menu choices… Parking wasn’t bad either. I think i was only okay because the tacos lasted flavor for me. I did like the fish taco here(not a part of the special) but it wasn’t anything spectacular. I wouldn’t mind eating here again if I was in the area, decent. but maybe not quite my cup of tea. :) Not a bad stop if one’s in the area looking for some cheap food.

Service: I would’ve said my experience was cool until the salsa police tells you that your getting too much salsa for your order. Umm I think 6 tacos and 3 orders of their Barbacoa(which are $ 2.49/each), 1 asada plate, and 1 marinated pork burrito is fine to get lots of salsa when it’s a variety you are getting. Also, there are NOOOOSIGNS that limits you to the salsa! The girl taking our order was super nice though. Experience: unfortunately they failed this time around. $ 1 Taco Tuesday you are winning, but honestly after the salsa police calls you out about salsa, you really just can’t say yeah they were awesome. There’s a language barrier too. Cleanliness: I say 1.5 out of 5. They cook with no gloves and prep your food with no gloves. I’m not sure if they wash their hands, but we are suppose to trust them right? Décor/setup: bathroom is located in the back, you walk through the kitchen. No offense, it looks like a 3rd world country bathroom with their cleanliness. They have searing indoor and outside. They have a drive thru too. Ehh. I don’t like the salsa police, I’ll have to think about coming back because I ain’t gonna lie, their tacos are good. Damn them! It’s definitely a whole in the wall looking place. Tuesday nights are busy! So be warned.

First time here 10.14.14, and actually the only reason why we stopped was because I noticed a small drive-thru… SCORE! With a baby in tow, but not wanting fast food, this was an awesome find! I have driven past here many times(since I live nearby), but the outside of the establishment is a little off-putting; plus if you are driving by and blink you are likely to miss it. So we decided to stop… SCORE… It’s TACOTUESDAY!!! $ 1.00 a taco. It was packed in the restaurant itself, and two cars ahead of me in the drive-thru, but it didn’t take very long and when we got to the window the girl was super nice, even though she was inundated with hungry customers(mostly hard-working manual laborers and students). Our taco order: 4 chicken, 2 Al Pastor, 2 Carne Asada, &2 Carnitas. And one horchata. Let me say I’m disappointed… Disappointed that I hadn’t discovered this place sooner! The tacos were delicious! In order of my favorites: Al pastor, carnitas, chicken, Carne Asada. Horchata was yummy as well! We came back less than a week after the first visit and I wanted to try to the taco fundido(al pastor) — damn that was good! It’s pricier than the street tacos, but worth it! We also ordered the Sac State Burrito which was also tasty. You can easily eat a decent portion for under 10.00, that’s me, but for you men, it could 11.00 to 15.00 easily, especially when everything tastes so good and if your order a drink. Speaking of drink, I noticed they serve the larger Coke in the glass bottle for like two bucks. I don’t drink much soda, but those are tempting! We haven’t ordered anything we didn’t like. This is a new regular spot for me! A must try!

I love this place, I often come here for $ 1 tacos since its right by Sacramento State University. It can be a bit on the greasy side, but I’ve never had any bad carnitas or asada taco. They are also very authentic, I haven’t tried anything but the tacos though. They have an open salsa bar but limit take out of sauces to(2 – 3) per person/order. It’s not a long wait either, I typically get my food within 5 minutes. The location is very small but they provide indoor and outdoor seating. They also have a drive-thru if you don’t feel like going inside to order.
