Good. place. They are doing remodeling. Hole in the wall but food was great. We had a torta and menudo. They were out of agua fresca but they did have homemade oj. Homemade tortillas were also great. Owner gave us a disc for tortillas being a lil late. Will come back.

I’ve been going to this place for the last 6 years and they have yet to disappoint, they treat you like family and even check up on how your meal is and its just the best.

This place and Lalo’s are the most authentic Mexican restaurants in the area. It’s now called Molcahetes Apatzingan, although I liked the name Tacos & Beer. The story was the family that owns it is from Michoacan and wanted to call it La Michoacana or something like that but it’s right next door to El Michoacano, and the owners said they couldn’t do that, so one of the owners said«lets call it tacos and beer!» They do in fact have tacos and beer, but if you order tacos here, you’re missing out on some really special things. The first time I went there I ordered Morisquetas(refried beans with chile sauce) and costillas de puerco(pork riblets), which is pork short ribs with rice and beans. It was so simple and so good and satisfying – Mexican comfort food – the best! I took some friends there next time and we had the house specialty which is Enchiladas en estilo Apatzingan. I’ve had almost the same dish in Patsquaro, Michoacan –only they call it enchiladas a la plaza because it’s served on the plaza in Patsquaro – and it brought it all back to me! It’s basically a platter of really simple cheese and chicken enchiladas, carrots and potatoes with two choices of meat. It’s enough for 2. The next time we went with a friend who was from El Paso, TX and ordered the enchiladas again, and she saw the queso fundido con chorizo on the menu and went for it – it was amazing! The next time I took an old friend who lived in Mexico for 10 years and we ordered the Molcahete and it was great – way better than the Molcahete at Lalo’s, and I love Lalo’s!

Very good Mexican food! Haven’t had food like this in a long time, I will recommend the enchiladas apatzingan style, super good food; every bite takes me back to my moms home town back in Mexico, delicious little place!

Many choices and hilariously tacos and beer are not featured. My family all got burritos and we were served by a 12(a guess) year old waitress. House made chips come with a watery salsa and a plate of refried beans with a cotija topping. The ambiance was less than thrilling, burritos large and filled with meat and agua frescas delicious and plentiful; melon, fresa or horchata. They have a nice patio and outside bathroom. Laugh out loud about chicken nuggets on the menu.

Been twice. Once I had the michoacan estilo enchiladas, which were great. It was basically some griddled homemade tortillas with sauce and crunchy cabbage on top and two meats, both of which were awesome, especially the grilled chicken. Not what one normally thinks of as enchilada, but that’s the michoacan estilo part. Homie had tacos, made better by fresh homemade tortillas. Next time we went, I got molcajete mixto, which is the cauldron of awesome(meats, cheese, cactus and saaaauuuuce) and then I made tacos out of it with the homemade tortillas. Homie had huevos rancheros which came with scrambled eggs, not my fave except they were the fluffiest smoothest damn scrambled eggs I have seen since my grandfather died. My grandfather made awesome scrambled eggs. I don’t know if they always make them scrambled or if they always do it that well, but it was impressive. They also get points because their refried beans seem to be homemade. Not super cheap cause I was getting all the especial stuff, but aside from that, they have the usual taqueria fare at typical prices. Homie said the pastor was good.

A mom n pop place. The guy taking our order was quite nice. We had a burrito and a plate. Decent prices. Nothing we ordered really stood out so I’d say that it’s fairly average.
