I love the ‘I don’t care, I don’t have to’ attitude Sutter Medical Foundation has. Whose brilliant idea is it to stop people from paying their insurance co-pay with cash — the legal tender of the United States? Last I checked, every paper currency bill printed by the United States Treasury has the caveat«This note is legal tender for all debts, public and private.» printed on it. I guess that Sutter Medical Foundation is special, and considers itself above the law. Which doesn’t surprise me. Too bad Sutter Medical Foundation’s employees pilfer cash from the till. That’s not my problem. Demanding that I get a cashier’s check($ 10.00) to pay a $ 10.00 insurance copay is asinine, and IS my problem. There used to be a time when Sutter Health operated for the benefit of its patients — instead of demanding their patients to bow and scrape to the will of their medical bureaucracy. Sutter Medical Foundation: We don’t care: we don’t have to.

I went to see a podiatrist named rip off Namvar. First time I saw him, I saw him for 5 minutes. Second time, was for 2 minutes. I busted my ankle and he said ‘TRY’ this boot to see if it helps. My wife and I asked how much it would cost and how much we would have to pay him for everything. All he told us was the 300 for the boot and that’s it. Later, we get mail saying we owe him 1488 dollars. We called three times to verify to make sure that was a mistake and two said they would fix it, the third was rude and said that it was our fault and that we had to pay that amount. She said the cost came from rip off Namvar ‘advising’ us to use the boot. So him saying«try the boot» cost over 1400. DONOTEVERGOTOHIMFORANYTHING! my ankle would have healed without his«expert specialist advice». Now we owe almost 1500 dollars.

I went to the doctor on Monday for a good ‘olé checkup. The medical insurance I get through work isn’t terrible; I have never been charged for anything outside of copays. I love my doctor. I see Dr. Martinez, he is younger and remembers me every time. The particular office I go to in this L Street/Alhambra Blvd building is the residency program office. I chose it because I believe that doctors in their last year of residency are more attentive and care more about their patients – they have an incentive because they are trying to graduate obviously. I consider myself a learner – I love to soak up information everyday. The doctors here are the same way and I just like the vibe. Sure, some people might be freaked out that the doctor has been practicing for only a few years, but I find it more comforting than when someone has to look my symptoms up on a computer because they have forgotten things. My doctor has it together and the entire office staff is pleasant.
