Gene installed a landscape for us about 18 months ago. It was pretty much bare earth and everything had to be done from scratch. We had a very detailed plan from a landscape architect. Although much of the work that was done was great, the few negatives are hard to ignore. The good The installed patio was beautiful and it is still holding up very well. This was probably his best work on the project. Installation of decomposed granite was also done very well and is holding up. Installation of plants, and an irrigation system was also generally done well but here is where we transition to The bad The irrigation system had to be installed from scratch, including tapping the water line going in to the house. He initially installed a PVC pipe from the main line to the house, underneath the house to feed regulators in the front. I thought it was weird to run PVC pipe underneath a house and asked him about this. He said it was totally fine. I was skeptical and found out that this was definitely not up to code. After some more resistance he eventually replaced this line with copper pipe. The lower rating boils down to a loss of trust, which is too bad because I generally liked him and he definitely has a lot of talent for landscaping.

It is just under a year and I find that most of the work he’s done has had to be redone. The timer was a cheap quality and we had to have that replaced? Water was everywhere besides having the drainage put in we have to do all the hoses in the cement boxes. What a real disappointment. Plants had to be moved because he didnt know the proper layout of plants.
