This place isn’t that bad, but it’s okay place to go if you are in the area and craving sushi

My family and friends always come here! I am very picky about the quality of fish at Japanese restaurants and their quality is great! We try different rolls and plates all the time here so it’s hard to recommend stuff when everything is good. The owner Karen is very nice and friendly as well. Always checking in to see how you are doing. Great place for kids as well.

Whenever we want sushi this is the place we go. The portions are great, great ambiance and atmosphere and very friendly staff. Though some waiters do act a little clueless. We get the college roll and some of the more simpler ones deep fried. I guess they call it the crunch roll. There’s another one called the spider roll which is really good but kind of expensive.

Great service! You go here once, waitress remembers you and welcome back! And they serve great sushi and udon soup. My son loves here too. It’s small, cozy and clean place. Enjoy!

My new favorite place for sushi near Elk Grove. Fresh and delicious, great service and a huge selection. The Hamachi is amazing.

Pretty good sushi, nice and friendly staff. Got the BBQ albacore and I am sauce junkie and it had lots of sauce so I loved it. Only complaint was that it was a little too cooked. The college roll was good, had a bit of a sweet taste which I didn’t mind and was surprisingly pleasant. The menu had good selection and my husband liked they offered a deep fried roll(volcano roll) because he can’t handle raw. Was a bit pricey but most sushi places run the same, I. E Tokyo Fros or Mikuni. I will be coming back.

I really enjoy eating at this location because the customer service is GREAT! The atmosphere of this place s amazing as well, and above all, the food tastes great! Unlike many other restaurants I’ve been to, the soups are always plain, but this place always have the right flavor to everything! I gave it a 4 star because the price can be a bit higher than other sushi restaurants. Other than that, it’s definitely one of my favorite places to eat!

Pretty nice people work here. However the price for the amount you get is no convenient. I would not come back. 27 $ for 4 pieces of tasteless shrimp and rice lol. Save your money go to bento box

My favorite sushi place in all of sac. The service is awesome. They really make you feel at home. The sushi is so fresh and everything is delicious. Bento boxes, sashimi, tempura, everything is top notch. The ambience is amazing too. Tucked into a little corner near a gas station, of all places. But don’t let that fool you. Keep up the great work guys!

I used to eat here frequently when I lived in the area. I made my way back today and tried the sushi/tempura bento box. Definitely filling, but would have liked the fish slices to be thicker. I know, I should have just ordered sushi and done away with the side fillers. But I must say, the tempura was excellent. Piping HOT. I left filling full and it did satisfy my Japanese craving to an extent.

One of these days I shall tackle their sushi challenge! For now, this’ll do. Sushi Pizza($ 12) — pan cake, spicy tuna, crab salad, tomato, tobiko, scallion, and avocado. Seafood Roll($ 13) — shrimp tempura, scallop, salmon, crab salad, topped w/tobiko & house sauce. Everything was good! Appetizer came out exactly as I had expected. sushi shaped like a pizza ~ loaded with sauces, which turned out to be a bit excessive. Decent starter. My sushi roll also tasted okay. Nothing outstanding. For the price, I anticipated better quality, rather it was your run-of-the-mill suspects. I’d come back if a friend chose the place. Frankly, for what it costs you might as well stop by Mikuni’s. More choices and better service. At least if you’re still in Elk Grove area.

Ended up coming here for dinner last night after finding out Tay Giang wasn’t actually open yet and clearly still under construction… even though two people have reviewed it already… boo… I’ve been here once before back in my CRC days but never returned. It wasn’t terrible but it wasn’t the best either. During last night’s visit my eyes fell upon a «sushi pizza» on the appetizer list. We had to get it! It turned out to be pretty good. It’s basically deconstructed sushi. The bottom layer was crispy which balanced out the soft crab and saucy texture on top. For my entrée I decided on getting Niku Udon which sounded good at the time… beef, onions, udon noodles… But the flavor was average and beef was chewy. I probably should’ve gone with a sushi roll instead… The service was on point… maybe a little too on point? We had three servers actually who constantly checked on us. They also refilled our water cups(which are quite large to begin with) even when it was still ½ inch full from the top… We’re in a drought, people! I felt bad wasting so much water, I had to stop them from refilling such a tiny amount. Also, I couldn’t help but notice all of the staff taking shots at the bar. It must’ve been family/friends eating at the bar but they were loud and seemed to be having too much of a good time… I probably won’t return here since my meal was A-OK and the staff’s behavior was questionable.

So tonight I experienced something I haven’t experienced in a long time. Great sushi served as it should be: fresh, with a minimum of sauce, each piece a work of art. Best of all, I sat at the sushi bar and let the sushi chef surprise me. And he did every single bite was delicious right down to the green tea cream brûlée for dessert!

First off, customer service is great. It is usually Karen who is waitressing. For appetizers, I’ve tried their Agedashi Tofu and it’s so good. The quality of fish is always fresh and delicious. Whenever my family and I are craving sushi this is our go to spot in Elk Grove. We usually get either a plate of sashimi and/or Pepperfin Tuna which is always delicious. As for rolls, I usually get the Suki roll and double philly. Their bento boxes are decently priced, I love their sesame chicken; it’s always crispy and not overcooked like most places. Overall, I am a frequent customer and highly recommend their food.

I live near Suki Sushi and have been coming from time to time over the years since they opened and never really got around to reviewing because I feel like they have potential but just haven’t reached it yet. My very first visit was awhile back when I dined in with my family. I remember thinking prices weren’t cheap. For the price, I expected better sushi. However, I came back a few years ago with a girlfriend for another dine in experience and that time was much better. I can’t remember which sushi rolls we ordered but I do remember she ordered their Sea Steak with extra daikon and it was delicious! I was sad the dish was done! I made a mental note that I would be back mainly for their Sea Steak. Cut into thin slices, lightly seared and the sauce was a perfect mixture. Since then, I’ve stopped in for togo orders for my dad on the rare occasions that he craves sushi. He’s not much of a sushi eater so it’s usually just a Dragon Roll paired with a roll of my choice. I’m usually not too impressed. A few days ago, I called in a togo order at 2:15pm when they were about to close at 2:30pm and the lady that answered my call was more than happy to take care of me. I ordered a Beef Sukiyaki and replaced the noodles with udon and a Fancy Roll. Altogether, my order was a little over $ 30. The broth for the sukiyaki was a bit overwhelmingly sweet for me. I’m not sure if it would have been better with its original clear noodles. They gave plenty of meat, napa cabbage, tofu, mushroom and fish cake but for $ 16, I think I would opt for a regular udon bowl next time. As for the Fancy Roll, I really enjoyed it! Inside was shrimp tempura and spicy yellowtail and it was topped with tuna, salmon, yellowtail, avocado and tobiko. Fish was fresh and proportions were good. I asked for light sauce and it was a good thing I did because any more sauce and it would have been drenched. Overall, prices are a bit too high IMO but it is the border between Sacramento and Elk Grove so that may be why. Service is very friendly and ambiance is really nice so I would definitely come back if I wanted sushi without a far drive! Perhaps I’ll be back for their happy hour!

The moment my bf took a bite out of the barbecue albacore, he exclaimed that I needed to give them 5 stars ! As much as I want to give them five stars, I took a star off because I feel like their portions could be better. Our server, Lina was super attentive, quick, and sweet. When she seated us, she lit a candle on our table to «set the mood» lol! The food was great! We will definitely be back often. The moment you exit 99 and have a sushi craving, you have two options in this area: hula Hawaiian bbq or suki sushi. Choose suki sushi :)

Suki Sushi never fails to impress me. Been there a total of about 6 times already and didn’t leave a review until now. The food… The food is awesome, I’ve tried the bento boxes and the specialty rolls and everything was good. My go-to roll to the College Roll. The taste is perfect and doesn’t taste like every other mayonnaise and sauce-drenched specialty rolls at other restaurants. Although they don’t have«50% off» rolls and the bill can get pretty expensive, it’s well worth it for the quality of the food in my opinion. The atmosphere and ambiance is very nice. Been there both in the daytime and nighttime. In the daytime, it’s nice and bright, excellent lighting. At nighttime, it has a darker ambiance with candles lit at every table. Very romantic :) The service is always great. There was a time where I went there so much, the waitress remembers my usual order which was so sweet. The servers are always attentive, checking up on us and giving refills as needed. Definitely will always come back.

Heard of food challenges? This place has one of them. The sushi challenge is a competition where you are to finish three enormous roll(of your choice), miso soup, and salad within a set time. Me and two other friends attempted this challenge, sadly only one of us succeeded. Those who fail have to pay for those three rolls while those who successfully eat everything will get away without any charge and also a pic to go on the wall of fame. Perhaps one of these days I will succeed!!! Maybe… The rolls here are quite good, it was my go to spot for quick sushi after class. But due to my part time job at another sushi restaurant, I crave less sushi and rarely go to other restaurants unless with a group of friends. I love how this is located side by side next to Lollicup, I find a nice cold milk tea a perfect compliment after a sushi dinner. But that’s just how I roll~
