We all know subway. I’ll leave the food aspect out of my review. The service is what earns this location five stars. They are fast, friendly, and helpful.

I came in right after lunch so i was the only customer in there and was immediately helped by Tyler. Not knowing what to add onto my meatball sandwich, Tyler suggested adding certain veggies to make it taste«like pizza». And surely enough did it taste like pizza, a soggy one too! Nonetheless, it was good with the addition of broccoli cheddar soup and so i’ll be coming back.

it’s a subway, so we all know about the food. the young teenage/college staff working well as a team and keeping up a bright disposition. i was slightly annoyed at the parking, as it’s meters all around the area. i luckily found a spot with 12 minutes remaining, and i was able to zip in and out with plenty of time to spare thanks to the speedy subway staff. had a nice quick lunch on my way to the capitol building tour.

Wow! I reviewed a Subway in Citrus Heights and gave it one star, but this place gets five! The guy that was working, Andres(sorry for the spelling!) was awesome! I was the only customer and he started helping me immediately! He was very funny and we just chit-chatted as we walked toward the register, making my sandwich. It was a GREAT experience! Not only was the service perfect, the place was cool, clean, and smelled good! I will definitely go there next time I’m downtown!

I have to give this place major credit where it’s due: it is the best Subway location I’ve ever been to, and as a former Subway employee, that is saying A LOT. I actually go out of my way to patronize this Subway location, because that’s how much better the food is than at any other Subway in the downtown area. Back story: Subway was my high school job when I was a teen and lived across the country. Ever since I worked at the place, I’m basically the Subway employee’s worst nightmare. I am much more discerning than your typical Subway consumer, and I’m hardly ever able to walk in without immediately noticing red flags – everything from food storage and sandwich recipes to glove changing and general cleanliness – I notice it all. It’s a gift. And a curse. But…at THIS Subway location, there wasn’t one thing I could complain about. It’s clean, organized, and they practice safe food handling measures. Now THAT is something I love to see at a place I’m about to eat! I’ve been here multiple times, and every time I have found the service to be prompt and friendly, and the food to be tasty and fresh. There are two common pitfalls of the Subway sandwich: first, old veggies. Places that don’t follow proper veggie management and switch out their vegetables have a case of what I call«trash lettuce.» The lettuce has literally started to break down due to being too old, and you get a lovely kind of garbage-y taste with your sandwich. YUM, amiright?! The second common pitfall of a typical Subway sandwich is the bread. Not much substance, because it’s literally just dough that they’ve pumped full of air, but certain locations don’t even know how to prep and store the bread properly, resulting in a sad, sunken, stale bread that is far from tasty. Guess what, boys and girls?! THIS Subway location does NOT fall into either of these common-Subway-pitfalls categories! Ding ding ding! We have a winner! I am legitimately excited because this is actually a pretty huge feat! Story time: The very first time I was in this Subway, I was doing my usual scrutiny of all their procedures and practices(I might as well have been a secret shopper/health dept. inspector up in there). One of the bums hanging around Old Sac came in for some water while my Sandwich Artist was working on my sandwich. The Artist(note my proper terminology) kindly stopped to grab a cup of water and hand it to the bum, but I held my breath: THIS was the moment. The TRUE test of this Subway’s worth. Why? Because the employee hadn’t removed her gloves prior to handing the cup of water over, and I was wondering whether I had to be «THATPERSON» who asks her to switch gloves just because she brushed the hands of a stranger(I will readily admit I’m a germaphobe, judge as you will). Well, the employee passed this test with flying colors: she changed her gloves! Woohoo! Might not seem like a big deal to some, but knowing when to change your gloves is an integral part of keeping food safe to eat and avoiding cross-contamination. One small step for Subway, one big victory for my stomach! To sum up this ridic review: I’ve been here many times. I go out of my way to stop at this location. I am a former Subway employee. I am freakishly aware of cleanliness habits, and this place passes all the tests. Finally, the service is friendly and quick. The only, and I mean ONLY drawback of this place: the location in Old Sac sometimes means you have to compete with festivals/other special events for parking. Bring a quarter and park in the 15 minute zone, and you’ll be a-okay.

The staffs here are amazing! I’m not a fan of subway, but the boyfriend is. As we was ordering, the staff kept a conversation going throughout. It was a fun joking around one. We got the buffalo chicken, on his side he wanted everything. I picked, and choose what I wanted. As I sat down, he presented the sandwich with his & her written on it. There’s a photo I posted. It was delicious! I had a pleasant experience here, I would go back in a heartbeat. Thanks! ;)

Visited this particular Subway on a trip to Sacramento. Andres was making sandwiches, and he made our sandwiches exactly as requested. My coworker’s granddaughter felt it was the best pastrami sandwich she’d ever eaten at a Subway. Very clean facility. Andres was kind and considerate as he also helped us to find our«ghost tour.» Recommend this location!

Subway is subway. This is the closest one to my work, can’t complain/can’t rave, it’s fast food for crying out loud, who cares?

You probably think that all Subway restaurants are the same, from Auckland to Zurich right? Well, they aren’t. Sure most are just standard franchise fodder with little or no care given, but the Old Sacramento Subway isn’t. It is fantastic. The place is always clean(which given the location and number of homeless people in the greater vicinity is amazing). In the year or so I have been there for my weekly(or so) sandwich the staff have always been the same, and are super-friendly, and are happy to make the sandwich exactly how you like it(you know, extra of this, a little less of that etc. etc.). If you want a good healthy sandwich, go here!

This Subway has absolutely the most friendly and the best sandwich makers. They put the most veggies in their sandwiches and have no problems making each ½ to what both people want. They are so nice even when they are swamped with the busy lunch crowd.

It’s your basic subway but the will not give you a cup of water, which is irksome. I literally had to pay for a soda in order to be allowed to have water. Besides for the bad policy on that the service and quality was reasonable.

It’s your standard Subway. The service is decent and the food is quasi-healthy. Seems fairly clean even though it seems oddly placed in Old Sacramento.

I sometimes have spotty luck when it comes to subway(sloppy sandwiches, poor service, unclean bathrooms, etc) but not THIS subway, the service is always quick, courteous, and personable and the sandwiches are always top quality. Despite a somewhat tedious location in old Sacramento(ugh parking) I regularly go out of my way to eat here when I want a good meal. As an added benefit the store and bathrooms are always clean and stocked unlike some other closer subways. If you find yourself in the mall or old sac this is definitely the spot to eat, well worth the extra walk depending on where you are.

We have been in here a couple of times. The place is clean and so are the bathrooms. The two young men behind the counter were courteous. The place was empty when we got in their so we were helped right away. The food was good like always. My favorite, the raspberry cheesecake cookies. So good!

SUBWAYISJUSTABOUTINEVERYCITY I HIT!(And that’s not a bad thing…) SITREP Hitting the road for various work junkets — or even the personal roadtrips — put’s one in the position of having to manage their funds so one is not going to be constantly ripped off with a bad restaurant experience that they paid through the nose on and may have not even enjoyed the meal. When you zoom through a city on a freeway, or even traipse through a town on a local fareway — and you don’t have a local friend in that community to give you the«lowdown» on the good local eats — I am not one that likes to leave things too unnecessarily to chance. So I would be the first to admit that I APPRECIATE the chain-restaurants when I am hungry, I don’t know the area and am just passing through, I’m by myself(so I’m not trying to «IMPRESS» anyone else), and I want something GOOD. [Not talking about great or fantastic necessarily, but I am not wanting to settle for anything less than GOOD. After all, that’s what the ARCOAM/PM and 7-ELEVEN’s are for if you are THAT desperate for food.] But knowing that there is a STARBUCKS, a MCDONALDS, or a SUBWAY at a roadside exit takes a LOT of stress out of my hunger needs. THESET-UP In Seatte, there’s a SUBWAY across the street from my favorite hotel and one also just a block down from my mom’s residence. In Oakland, there’s a SUBWAY on the same block as the Clay Street State Office Building I conduct trainings in — convenient when you consider I only have 20 minutes to run out and get something to eat so I can be back to prep for the afternoon training session. And here in Sacramento, there is the SUBWAY downtown, and THIS particular SUBWAY in Old Sac. They are convenient to say the least. THEMENU No mystery here. They are SUBSANDWICHES. NOT a whole lot of variance from other places. YES, Blimpies seems to have some nice«secret» sauces. And YES, Quiznos toasts their subs. And actually, I happen to like all three places. So in the end, it just is a matter of where I am and who is closest. [And don’t give me this bullshit about«Well this one’s produce is so much fresher!» Really? For any restaurant, it’s merely a matter of when the truck shipment came in and how well the store keeps it, and any day of the week, any one of these establishments can have a delayed shipment, a faulty fridge, or a minimum wage employee who leaves stuff sitting out on the counter longer than s/he should.] These days, $ 5 is pretty much the going rate(average) for a sub sandwich. Add a couple more dollars if you get a combo. THELOWDOWN That’s the thing about SUBWAY sandwiches in a nutshell: they are INEXPENSIVE and GOOD. They are QUICK and HEALTHIER than most fast food alternatives and that’s why I enjoy them. [P.S. Again, if they bundle stupid questions with the review, I am going to answer the question the way I like. This go-around, one additional Unilocal survey questions was«Waiter Service?». So of COURSE I answered«YES!’ Come on! It’s a freakin fast-food restaurant. Get your question logorithm updated.

How nice it is after a day of playing tourist in Old SAC there is a reasonably price hole in a wall Subway where you know you can get a quality sandwich without paying an arm and a leg. It is priced alittle more then the other strip mall subways but worth it. The staff is friendly and accommodating. It is off the beaten path so there was a small line and plenty of A/C seating inside.
