The service has improved. By work so I come in often. I have noticed a high employee turnover the last few years, but for the better. Although it was always better than the old Starbucks in the mall. Not a lot on this side of downtown unless you cross over Capitol, so with that and the service I will continue to come here unless I am walking by the 9th street location.

Was just told they’re closed, but Unilocal has them open till 8. Could be a misunderstanding

Looks pretty cool on the inside but the building is really small and the line was long. Maybe because it is next to a train station? The baristas seemed to be friendly to their friends but to customers like me and the rest they had an attitude like«thank you now I hope you get out». There was a lady in a wheelchair trying to move a seat so she could sit down. None of the workers bothered to help her. If only the location at the mall didn’t close. The place was small but at least the customer service was better than here.

Came here today to get a quick drink in the scorching heat, before dropping off my boyfriend. It’s a cute little store, though the baristas didn’t seem too happy. Upon entering the store, there was no greeting; a male barista looked confused, and probably thought whether he should greet us and take our order, then went to hide behind the pastry case. Another barista, female, took our order. I kindly asked for a venti iced water for my boyfriend and ordered a grande mango black tea lemonade, but before I could even finished the word tea, she snaps and says its out of season and there’s no more. Okay well rude, I’ll just go make it at my store LOL. So then I ordered a sweetened passion tea. It wasn’t sweet. I never got my ice water. I only came here for a damn bistro box that tasted like it’s been sitting out in the heat, wthell was I thinking. So yeah, avoid this place. There’s an Sbux located in what’s left of the K St mall, and they’re far more nicer.

It is a plus that’s it’s next to Amtrak. I don’t think they enjoyed working at 6 in the morning the cashiers lack of urgency made me late to my train. I am a previous barista from Starbucks I get it some people say rude things but a barista should not be the first one to say something. He was rude and looked unhappy that whole time when asking if they had a drink they said no and all I said was another city had it. He went on to tell me with way to much attitude for my morning rush that«well this is Sacramento isn’t it» to where I replied«there is no need to be rude I know where I am all I asked was do you have a drink yet» he looked at me like I was the first to be rude. Keep in mind I had already waited 15 mins for my drink and there was only one family in front of me. I don’t appreciate being treated poorly all cause you can’t get customers out of your shop fast enough GET employees with more drive to work.

First time at this Starbucks, as there’s usually a long line out the door and I’m rushing to the train. Today there were only three people in line and two baristas. I almost left while waiting because one barista(dark brown ponytail, no name on apron) was spinning like a top and there was a big crowd of unhappy looking people waiting for drinks. I waited and was in and out in 9 minutes thanks to barista #2(Camellia on apron). I was really impressed by her, she remained calm and was efficient in taking orders and making drinks while the other woman kept interrupting with questions about her decisions and banging about in a panic. I’m guessing someone called out sick and that’s what was so stressful. Unfortunately, barista #1 stepped in and ended up making my drink and I’m pretty sure she put cow milk not soy in it(I’m lactose intolerant and soy was clearly marked on the cup). So, I’m not sure I’ll be returning here no matter how nice Camellia was. Back to getting lattes in Oakland after I get off the train.

the coffee was fine and two of the baristas were hard at work but overall it felt disorganised. I was also bothered by one employee who stood next to the barista who was making drinks talking about random personal things. it was even getting busy and she still just stood there. she didn’t try to jump in and help at all. she just sat there and didn’t smile at any of the customers. most Starbucks that I go to have great customer service and are attentive to their guests. sure I have seen them talk to one another when there was no line but I had never seen an employee at a Starbucks just sit there while they had a line and talk like she was out with her girlfriend(s) gossiping about random personal stuff. other than that the dining area was messy and was in dire need of a sweeping and wipe down.

This Starbucks is an excellent location. Like literally, it is really well placed because it is right next door to Amtrak, but it is also excellent because the baristas in here work super hard! I stop here before departures from Sacramento on the train very often. They are almost always on 2 part coverage for weekday mornings and they are still super fast and polite. I have always gotten my drinks in 2 – 4 minutes after ordering and they always are made perfect. Kudos!

One of the better Starbucks I’ve been to, extremely friendly, fast, courteous staff there. Plenty of tables to sit at, wifi, next door to the train station too so convenient. Went there a few times while in town on business.

The wife and I stopped in before hopping on Amtrak to go down to a SF Giants game. We ordered two sandwiches, my wife’s coffee, and a water. It was kind of packed so the order took about 10 minutes. We walk over to get on the train and I bite into a sandwich with a partially still frozen center. Our train was just arriving so I had no time to go back and have them cook my sandwich another couple minutes. I was pretty disappointed.

This place has awesome customer service. Came in this morning after pulling an all-nighter of no sleep. Desperate for an energy boost, and with drink reward in hand, I did what only a sleep-deprived maniac would and ordered a 10-shot iced Caramel Macchiato. The staff here made my drink lightning quick and with a great attitude, even cracking a few light-hearted jokes in-between. Sure the drink didn’t taste the best, but I knew that when I asked for half of my cup to be filled with pure espresso. Point is, they made my obnoxious drink and did it with a pleasant demeanor the entire way through. The entire staff is very friendly, too. A big praise to the entire team at this Starbucks location for their quality service. As of right now, I’m still nursing my caffeine-in-a-cup and it’s doing its job; I’ll heavily reconsider 10-shot drinks in the future, however.

Super impressed to see this location open at 430am, and the staff extremely welcoming given it is so early. Alex and the rest of the amazing staff at this location treat everyone with the utmost respect here. The restaurant seemed to be keeping a lot of people warm considering Sacramento’s huge homeless population. You guys rock!

Please get the free loaders out! I’m working at the Amtrak station, so this is convenient, but there has to be a way to get the aspiring rappers, pan handlers, and I-talk-to-myselfer’s from spending the day in here. Otherwise, the coffee is on par with other Starbucks. Staff is friendly, and usually remember my order(is that a sign of a problem?).

What4 a dump! When one compares the staffs at Peets to those at Starbucks there is NO comparison! Management by objectives seems to fail at Starbucks where sloppy inattentive staff, dirty interiors and restrooms, mediocre coffee apear to be the standard. This Starbucks had 4 staff behind the counter when i ordered a double expresso. it took 10 minutes to come up and was served with coffee spilled into the saucer and on the bottom of the cup with NO attempt to clean or serve in a fresh cup. Totally inept staff, homeless siting at the outside tables, NON service dogs inside. Skip this locations and find some alternative close by.

Every time I need to Amtrak around, I stop by this conveniently located Starbucks. And who wouldn’t right? The tiny cups you can buy in the train’s café car just aren’t enough coffee to perk me up on that 6:30 am train ride. This Starbucks seems so central to the train station that I have to wonder if anyone actually comes here who is not; dropping someone off for the train, taking the train, or working for the train. They do not have their own parking so you have to use the train station parking, paying $ 1.00 for every 20 minutes you plan to be there. They have two tables outside and a surprising amount of seating inside. Practically everyone inside(myself included) was hauling their luggage. I recognized most of the customers inside as people I had just gotten off the train with and it reminded me of going downtown clubbing and then going to Denny’s that used to be on 3rd(which is now Perkos, I think) and seeing all the drunk people you just partied with and you silently nod to each other in an affirmation of shared experiences. When I went on Saturday around noon, there was a very nice blond lady working the register. She was so sweet and friendly that I instantly want to be her friend and get coffee from her every day. There were three other guys working and everyone seemed to really enjoy their job. Great job everyone! I’ll be back again soon for train trips and iced coffee.

Also known as the«Train Station Starbucks.» I usually find this location less chaotic than any other downtown, probably because it’s mostly Amtrak customers and people working at neighboring businesses. The baristas(I hate that name) are quite a bit friendlier as a result. Speedier service, smiles abound. And it’s an overall cleaner and warmer environment for those who want to relax with their cup of joe. I’ll save you my many Starbucks stories about fighting for table and outlet space or sitting at butt level next to a line of incoming customers. The biggest downside here is the parking. The only lot is for paid Amtrak parking so park at your own risk. There are a couple meters on 5th street. It’s also an odd right-turn-only exit point. Keep all that in mind if you’re just stopping in on the way to somewhere else. For those who have to be there, it’s perfect.

I come here twice a week before and after I get off the train from the Bay Area. They are really fast which is great when I’m in a rush and the coffees are never a disappointment like some Starbucks can be. The selection of pastries are always full when I come
