This really is as good as it gets for a store solely dedicated to billiards. The place was a little bit on the used side(some chairs were torn, some of the coloring faded) but I didn’t mind as long as we could play. There were about 10 or so tables and a music box. Went with a group of 4 late sunday night and the place was somewhat full. About less than half the tables were open and by the time we left(about midnight) there were still one or two groups left. The owner was very welcoming and there were no problems playing or any complaints.

Brother and I go here once a month. Love it. Afternoons are usually the best is you don’t want to be around drunk people. The people who work here are kind people. Haven’t stumble across someone rude yet.

The music was great, I didn’t pay for it but whoever did was selection all of my favorite songs. For a Saturday night the turnover rate was good so we didn’t have to wait because there was open tables. Friendly staff and comfortable environment.

I’m here everyday of the week with my boyfriend. If I checked in all the time, I’d be number one lol. We got a membership here so it was well worth it. Plus, it keeps us out of trouble LOL! Reasonable prices. Beers and chips, can’t go wrong with that. Staffs are chill. Music box is cool.

Everyone was friendly and the prices are reasonable. I’d be back next time I’m bored and want to play pool.

Been coming here for years and love it… Except for the other night… These hoes were like stripping and dancing on tables and acting like it was a hoe free for all and the guy running it was purely entertained… I’m disgusted and dissapointed!

Place is dirty all the way around. Walls, carpets, bathrooms everything is a mess and out dated. Groups of young punks that look like trouble. Lots of parking lot hanging out. Making trip to car a bit uncomfortable. Customer service rediculous. And to top it off the people working serve alcohol to minors… didn’t even ask for ID or age… my sister and I were drunk off are butts and never once did anyone ask for our ID. The guy working the counter was rude and to busy playing pool to help us most they time had to wait to be served. Noticed lots of people who never paid for games or alcohol… Wonder how we could get on that VIP list as well.

Got off work early and wanted to have a few drinks and pool with a friend so stopped here but never got inside, why? Because although they post their open hours they were nowhere to be found way past it. Anytime you say you open at 4:00pm and your customers are waiting until 4:40pm and still not open… no bueno. Either reason for this to happen is not good. One reason, you don’t get enough business at 4pm to feel you have to be there at that time to justify a 4pm open time. That still doesn’t justify the horrible customer service here though. In this case you open up later to a time you CAN make money and not screw the customers who come when YOU say you’re open. Second, and probably more the reason here, you just don’t give a freak and just open when you feel like it. This is a billiards, how hard is it to make it here to collect money and monitor people playing pool? This isn’t an engineer job where your day is filled with complexities that you stress about coming to work or the CADMV where you might just go postal with unhappy people. Customers come to you to get drinks, laugh and enjoy their time… if you have a hard time coming to work on time at this type of place then maybe you should look for a new job. Either way the owners/management in my opinion are not quick on the uptake or just lazy I don’t give a freak mentality… both options once again, no bueno. This is a new one on me, I’ve never had a business that didn’t open after a few minutes being late worst case and who knows what time they did open since we left to another billiards at that time. I’m not going to buy«oh this is a one time thing» or «there was an emergency» since others(including one person on Unilocal) mentioned it happens and will continue. Probably will not be back but we already know they don’t give a freak.

Okay, I read a lot of these reviews, and some of them say«sketchy neighborhood,» but that’s probably because you think all people wearing saggy pants or of a certain race or culture is sketchy in general. You apparently haven’t been shopping on Mack road or in Meadowview. This place is a gem in my opinion. Low key and fun was what I was looking for. Moved from San Francisco, the area is anything but sketch. But it’s not fancy either. This place is awesome. Pool sticks everywhere, two guys run the place, and they have beer on tap. So if you’re looking for a place to keep your head low and have a chill but fun time, then this is the place to go. It is located right across the street from WalMart shopping center, which also has a bunch of decent restaurants if you wanted to eat after.

The billiard halls in Sacramento have been around for a long time. Sharkeys was one of those places that was known as a shady hang out back in the 90s. Nowadays it’s a different clientele, different music, different management. Gone are the bad crowds that used to frequent this place. It would be nice if they updated the ambiance, arcade and the building itself, but it’s still a good enough pool hall to go play a couple racks..

I’m from The Bay, where pool halls are overpriced, underlit, and over run by wannabe thugs. Sharky’s billards was a nice change of place. Sure, the clientele was a bit… young, like 18 year olds trying to inconspicuously hustle a few bucks by betting in a corner, but other than that I couldnt complain. Plenty of pool sticks are found here, as are cheap pitchers of beer and well kept felt. Theres a 5 dollar per hour minimum for 1 – 2 players, and 9 for 3 – 4. Like I said, that’s considered a bargain in my area. minus one star for closing half an hour before their posted hours. Wouldve been nice to know that when we came in, theres not much to do on a Thursday night in Sac, so… Still, had an overall great time and I’m glad to know that’s around so if I’m ever bored in the area I know where to kill some time.

As long as I hit a ball with my stick then I feel like I accomplished something. Needless to say, pool is not my thing. Maybe if I had a better teacher than the person I went with. There was a fair amount of people here enjoying the game. We didn’t stay too long though. It’s not a place I would feel safe to come by myself at night. The parking lot is well lit though.

It’s my first time visiting Sharky’s and it was alright to say the least. If you just want to play pool all day/night, rates are pretty cheap, $ 5/hour minimum for 1 – 2 people and $ 9/hour for 3-more people. The place has a good amount of tables and it seems to be the«kick» it spots for the younger crowd. However, there weren’t many people when i went on a Friday night. I guess no one likes to play pool on Friday nights, lol. They also have a jukebox with an average selection of music of different genres($ 1 for 2 songs) and a few arcade games: Street Fighter, Tekken Tag, and a shooting game. It would have been nice if they played music all night for free, but they gotta make money one way or another. Overall, If you you’re looking for something to do on a weekend, go here, it’s a good place to kill some time.

What else is there to do in Sacramento at night besides the usual bowling? Billiards! Though it’s located in a sketchy neighborhood, right across the famously known«ghetto» Walmart on Florin, this place is great. Don’t really remember the price since I didn’t pay, but I believe that it was cheap. There’s a juke box for extra entertainment while playing pool. I sucked at pool even though I played a couple times before, but the(owner?) was nice enough to help me even without me asking for help. He gave a few tips which actually helped me win, but then again maybe I won because the person i played against sucked more than I did lol. Basically, it’s enjoyable, another option for my fellow night owls in Sac.

Sharkys is my go to place whenever I feel like some«Pool Time» The crowd is quite young and the diversity is good. The beers are $ 3 not bad I haven’t ordered their food yet. The jukebox is cool although free music would be nice. Its a good place to hangout plus the owners/workers are cool they seem to keep the place together and its always peaceful from my experience.

In high school, this was my 2nd home. I learned how to shoot pool when Jared, Lenard, Randy, JC(Big Daddy) and Pat was still here. Every time I come here, I get nostalgic. There were tournaments held here every Wednesdays. This place was THEPLACE where EVERYBODY knows your name. Back when I was playing, anyone that lost would come to my table to help me practice in my pool skills. I do anything to have those days back… It is now under a new owner. The usual workers are no longer there, but if you’re with good company, this place can always be your 2nd home too.

I use to shoot pool here all the time when I lived in Sacramento. Busy nights arent that bad and tables usually are open. If i remember right, the tables are kind of close, but the price is cheap. They have tournaments everyweek. They open late too so you can go when you feel like it. There is a bar, but I never really drank much while playing when I was here.
