Problems from the beginning. We were told 3 – 4 weeks to receive our window coverings. First there was a back order which was first told to us after the 3 – 4 weeks were up. Then we waited weeks longer and the window coverings we ordered could not be installed on our windows. Rico’s blamed Hunter Douglas for not posting in their catalog that the window coverings were not able to be mounted outside of the windows. MONTHS go by and my new round of window coverings come in. The incorrect everything was ordered with regard to hardware — end caps wrong color, cords wrong color, electric on the wrong side of window coverings… You name it. Of course it takes weeks and weeks longer to get those. Rico’s blamed Hunter Douglas for sending the incorrect items. Then Rico’s ran my credit card before the job was finished… Shockingly enough it is NINE months later and the items that were incorrectly installed, Rico’s claims it is Hunter Douglas when it is actually an installation issue, are still not in. Bottom line: Rico’s may very well have problems with Hunter Douglas and Hunter Douglas may be the problem, but Rico’s left the clients high and dry after taking final payment before the job was finished. I would avoid Rico’s and Hunter Douglas.

I used Unilocal to locate this firm and thought I had found a reputable company so I will end my review of this company with Unilocal.I ordered blinds from this company and immediately after the install of what I thought I purchased, I made the mistake informing this company my satisfaction of the product. Only to discover a few month later the blinds were warping(frowning). After multiple failed attempts in getting this resolved, I demanded my refund. This company blamed everybody else for it’s problems including myself rather than expecting his employees(oops, wait, just found out they are family members) to do their jobs correctly. His family members denied any conversations they had with myself and my husband with regards to materials used in the blinds we received to what we actually ordered. The owner claimed we ordered Everwood blinds and failed to bring back the samples we were originally shown(although at this point I wouldn’t trust him to do so). We actually found out the original blinds we have installed in our house are actually Everwood blinds and the new blinds we recently ordered to replace the garbage they installed in our house are Everwood blinds and at a fraction of the cost we paid this company to do the job right the first time! We also found out the blinds shown to us are of the better, best selection and what we actually got was ‘good’. The slats were too thin and these ‘ladders’ were not properly set correctly allowing these slats to ‘frown’. we also noticed ‘ladders’ were missing in all these blinds as compared to what we originally had installed. So, if you want to order through this company, I suggest you insure ample writings and notations along with plenty of pictures. If you actually like sarcasm and no customer service skills, then go for it!

Rico’s went above and beyond to come out and fix our Hunter Douglas blinds! The sales rep was so helpful, caring, and informative. He was there on time and fixed all of our issues so that we didn’t have to send the blinds back in for repair. I wouldn’t go anywhere else to fix my blinds in the future. It was a wonderful experience! Thanks! Tara in El Dorado Hills, Ca

Just had them out to put up shutters, did a great job, would hire them again without a doubt a word to the wise, buy Hunter Douglas shutters, I had a different company put up shutters 5 years ago, the manufacturer went under, my front room shutter broke, could not get parts, so i bought a new hunter douglas shutter, 725 bucks bottom line, what you buy is only as good as the company staying in business to service the product… in my case, if and when the other shutters break that are through out my house, i cant fix them because of lack of parts, i will have to pay for a new one, they are not cheap hunter Douglas has a great warranty and has been around since the beginning of time I have also made an apt to have Ricos out to put on 3M glass film on the front of my house to cut the heat and glare Pat from Elk Grove
