A few years ago my optometrist noticed that my optic eye pressure was on a steady rise. Having high optic eye pressure can possibly lead to blindness! So he suggested that I see my Primary Physician to schedule an eye exam. After extensive testing on my eyes it was determined that I had the starting stages of(Glaucoma). Being with Sutter Medical at the time, I was seen by their head Ophthalmologist. I was prescribed two different eye drops to lower my eye pressure. The drops worked great for a short time lowering my eye pressure. Slowly but surely my optic pressure started to rise to dangerous levels once again. I was then referred to(Dr. Richard A. Lewis.) Dr. Richard Lewis is one of the leading Glaucoma Specialist in the country! He has published over eighty articles and books and was past president of the American Glaucoma Society. After reading all of his accomplishments, I felt honored to be one of his patients. Dr. Lewis kept a close watch on me knowing how dangerous it is to have high optic pressures. Since the eye drops stopped working, Surgery was our last resort. If the surgery is successful, my eye pressures would be dropped down to safe levels and prescribed eye drops would no longer be needed! That sounded«WONDERFUL». The procedure that Dr. Lewis performed on me was called(Trabeculectomy) This was done as an out — patient procedure. The surgery was a(TOTALSUCCESS!) It’s been over two years since having the surgery! My eye pressure is still staying very low and I am no longer using eye drops! «HALLELUJAH» I can’t tell you how happy I am with the out come of my surgery performed by Dr. Richard A. Lewis! There are no signs of having Glaucoma, so it is very important to have your eyes checked regularly by your optometrist ! I will be forever grateful to Dr. Richard A. Lewis and his wonderful staff!!! And has my Highest Recommendation !

My 95 yr old grandma said«He takes the time to tell you what he can do and why.» I took her in for the Ahmed Optical Implant. Because her age he adjusted the surgery by adding a stitch to make it easier on her. That’s the kind of experience you want from your doctor. At the surgery center the staff was awesome too. They were operating as a team. Helping each other. I’ve recently been to 3 hospitals for a hand issue. Believe me the staff matters and another reason I would see the youthful experienced personable Dr. Lewis.
