I have eaten at Perko’s many times, typically with my dad because it is one of his favorite restaurants. I love the vibe and the decorations inside. It’s a cabin-like vibe that makes you feel like you’re in the woods with lots of outdoor memorabilia. The staff is always incredibly friendly. My dad is a regular there, and when I went with him today, they already knew his order. Our waitress remembered that we usually order sausage so that we can take it to go and bring it home to our pup. I usually order off of the«Create Your Own Masterpiece» menu, which has four different sections and you choose one item from each section. Today I ordered a spinach and cheese omelette, fresh fruit(with very ripe strawberries and bananas), french toast, and sausage for my dog, all for under $ 8. The food is always fresh. Super convenient location, right off of Bradshaw Road off Highway 50. You can spot it from the freeway. Service, food, and location are all great!

Not great. The alfredo pasta on the 2 for twenty is watered down and tasted awful. The tortilla soup was ok. My cheeseburger came with a hair on the plate, I didnt want to say anything, felt as if the servers didnt wanna be bothered. Its not going to be my go to place, not my favorite place, I dont think I would come back here on my own accord. Sort of felt if I said anything I would get my head chewed off. Not sure why I get the feeling here. I wasnt paying so rather kinda eat and run. Shared my burger with my daughter, since her dish was so bad(pasta)and TG its over. Trying to be nice to the family that tried to give us a treat. Gesture was sweet anyway.

I went as it was part of a hotel chain dining program option. Definitely not a do over. The service was aweful. The server brought my iced tea right away before I had even started to look at the menu. Then she disappeared. Finally came back to take my order. «Monster BLT» not so monster other than the bread with salad. I thought they were growing the veggies it was taking so long. Then the BLT came before I had finished my salad. I think it was a manager that was refilling drinks as the server was again MIA. Even once I had finished it took forever to get the check. The décor is old and dated along with the worn furnishings. The taste of the food was good. In addition the bill was $ 15.00…to much for what you get.

I live really close to this place and finally decided to go in. The inside was very cute. It’s give off a Tahoe feel. The food was alright. It reminded me of a Mel’s or better iHop/Denny. The customer service, however, was great. My hostess, Nina, made the experience 10 times better.

My daughters food had a hair in it, my food did not have the cheese requested. Tri-tip was very over done. The service was awesome. They replaced my daughters food and took half off. May need a deep cleaning… trees are dusty as well as fixtures.

The crêpe with strawberries and whip cream, along with the scrambled eggs and avocado were delicious. We left the bacon off our plate since there were vegetarians among us in our group. Our waitress was cheerful, but we had one guest whose scrambled eggs were less in amount than another person who ordered the same thing. The abovado was missing as well. Overall the environment was attractive, the food was good, and we will be back some day.

This was the worst meal I have ever had. From the waitress to the actual meal. I ordered a blt sandwich and a salad. My wife ordered soup and salad. The bleu cheese was the most disgusting ever and the didnt have ranch sressing available. This story is too long but believe me it eas horrible. I will not return. PERKOSSUCKS

Dirty and stinky. Severe need of maintenance The lady’s bathroom was so dirty and in need of repair. The only toilet working had a door being held together with several layers of silver duct tape. Broken flushing mechanism and just plain filthy. So what does the kitchen look like. Waitress plopped down the food and never returned. Oh we miss the days when Chick Brooks and his family owned Perkos

My grandmother and I go here for dinner, and we bring family here as well! The employees are friendly and they serve you pretty quickly. It’s also a quite place to be for the most part, so it’s nice to go and relax.

We have gone to this restaurant for years and today was are last time. My husband asked for a fresh cup of coffee in a new cup because the coffee was bitter. The waitress looked at him like she had no idea what he was asking for. Then we waited over 20 minutes for our breakfast and the other tables around us already had their food and came after us. So my husband asked the waitress if she new where are breakfast was? She looked at him and said with a nasty tone in her voice. I guess they are still cooking it!!! We got up and walked out. Never again. Called the manager when leaving and explained what happened he could of cared less. Had to give them 1 star so I could post this they don’t even deserve 1 star.

Ok for breakfast and lunch, but dinners are not fit for a dog. Most of the food reminds me of soups out of a can and TV dinners. Bathrooms very dirty and needs to be remodeled.

Sigh. Unfortunately Perko’s has fallen out of my good graces. I called in a to-go order, but when I arrived 10 minutes later, they had lost my order and there was no food ready. My dog was waiting in the car so I couldn’t wait for them to make it. Very frustrating.

Here for lunch last week with a colleague. This location appears to have at one time been a Black Bear Dinner, but has been reborn as Perkos. Perkos is a regional chain franchise business loosely oversaw by the Brooks restaurant group. The reviews at this location are a little rough; gave it a shot anyhow. Overall I was relatively pleased by this restaurant and found the food decent. I tried the buffalo chicken wrap and found the ingredients fresh and filling. Prices were very reasonable. The staff was helpful, pleasant, and attentive. On the constructive side, some of the furniture is old and worn but the location was relatively clean. The only exception was the bathrooms that needed a top to bottom scrubbing. Additionally, they need a sign to tell some that used toilet paper goes down the toilet in United States and not in the trash can; c’mon people, its 2016 now! Also, Parking is abundant but the parking spots are too close together; this seems to be a re-occurring theme in restaurants and does not make a lot of sense. This will definitely influence the decision to visit a restaurant and squeezing in one or two additional spots may seem like a good idea, but it just turns off customers in the end. Overall though, this location earns a BARELY4-stars. Fix/clean up the bathroom and put a couple bilingual signs as to where to deposit toilet paper and you may one day earn a 5-star review.

I let the pictures speak for themselves, I am still holding my breath:( I should have used the restroom before I ordered my food. I can’t complain about the service or the food or the cleanliness in the restaurant, that’s why the condition of the restroom blew me away! I thought they had inspections so restaurants follow the health and safety guidelines. Plus if I was the owner I’d be too embarrassed to let my customers see how run down and broken my restrooms are.

Frozen oj, awful coffee, service was meh. Eggs seemed powdered. Not sure if they were. Decorative ambiance tho. When the waitress poured my coffee some of it splattered on the table.

Perko’s(this on in particular) is one of my FAVORITE casual lunch and dinner spots. The food is ample and tasty; the waitstaff are always friendly and efficient; the restaurant and bathrooms are always clean and orderly. I used to eat there very regularly when I worked across the street, but even now(1 year later), I still make a point to meet people there for a quick bite.

I had been here before but today was a disappointment. We had to go get someone to wait on us to get water and drinks and then when we finally get water there was stuff floating in one of the waters. Then when food was brought out there was a piece of old banana stuck on plate.

I dunno, I was struggling on whether to give two or three stars. I’ve been coming to Perko’s for some time, at this location, and it still retains the same«flavor»(so to speak) of the former Bradshaw’s, which was a non-chain restaurant. It’s always been fine, but the most recent time I’ve gone, I felt that the food quality has gone downhill slightly, like skimpier portions and not quite so fresh greens. It’s just become overpriced for what it is. You can go downtown and spend about the same for better food in a non-chain restaurant. Don’t get me wrong, compared to a Denny’s or other national chain this place is still better, it’s just well, if I have to spend $ 12 for an $ 8 salad, I’ll go someplace that will give me a $ 12 salad, just sayin…

Barf. The food here sucks. Everything was super bland. I came here recently because our sales team won a contest. It was meant as a treat, but if this is what you get for winning, I’d rather be a loser.

Breakfast again. Just OK. I had two eggs with sausage and french toast. Eggs were fine. But the sausage was over cooked, seemed like it was cooked a while ago and barely warm. Hashbrowns were the star of the meal. Orange juice for an additional dollar was a bit skimpy but good. Service was great, table was clean. Your servers are great we were checked on not just by our waitress but by another who inquired if we’d ordered our drinks yet. We both ordered water too. And it came in coke a cola plastic glasses. Good thing they give you a straw because the entire rim of the«glass» was chipped and rough. I don’t know what you are doing to damage these glasses like this but you need to look into it and get rid of the chipped ones. No other restaurant I’ve been to with plastic water glasses are in this kind of condition.

Perko’s is a great place for a nice quick sit down meal. I have ordered many different entrees including chef salad, tri tip combo deal, and the breakfast special where you get to pick 4 items for a low cost. Service is average to above average. Servers are friendly, they get refills, and check on the table once in a while. Menu selection is great with a little bit of everything. Worth a stop.

If I was to choose a sit down national chain, this is the place I would choose. The entrance has a nice feel to it, they have a map of Lake Tahoe and other animal related items hanging on the wall. They have a clear little refrigerated cooler that has some delicious looking pies, must try here. They have an extensive menu, it all looks good by the way. I started off with a coffee, nothing fancy about that. I ordered the Splatter Cakes Combo, it was delicious but seemed fake at the same time. the vanilla cream cheese cake topped with canned strawberries, that threw me off, please use real strawberries for this item, would taste A lot better. Overall, I had a great dining experience here and would be back again.

My first thought after leaving this place was: «I couldn’t believe I paid for that.» I tried the«ultimate dip» which was a tri-tip sandwich with au jus. The picture portrayed a medium-rare cut of meat with mushrooms on a fresh hoagie. However, the sandwich I actually got was a bland and flattened sandwich which had the meat cooked well-done and maybe one mushroom. Not to mention, the meat was completely void of any seasoning, tasted like it was microwaved then fried on the grill, and like it was cooked days before. The au jus tasted like nothing but garlic powder. My fiancée ordered a club sandwich without ham and received just that. There was no question about subbing out ham with another meat. When the sandwich arrived, it had shredded cheese instead of slices, there was very little meat on it, and the bacon was rubbery since it was almost all fat instead of meat. It was very disappointing. To top things off, the service was horrible. The waitress that we had came by to take our order and to give us the check. Despite the fact that we finished less than half of our meals, there wasn’t a question about whether we wanted to-go boxes, whether we enjoyed our meals… nothing. The same was true at the register. There wasn’t the standard question of «how was everything?» Horrible service, horrible good… we have no intention of going here again.

You just don’t seem to find many Perko’s Cafés around in the Sacramento area. In fact the last time I had visited a Perko’s was a few years ago in Red Bluff, CA.: . The food and service was very memorable in a good way, so I was looking forward to a comparable visit. Then recently, my dad treated my boyfriend and me to breakfast here. I remembered that this restaurant had once been called«Bradshaw’s» and was around for many years prior. As we entered, we were greeted and seated right away to a comfy booth in the center of the dining area. The interior was just as spacious as I had remembered it, well kept, with plenty of seating and more modern upgrades. The colorful menus offered a nice variety in breakfast, lunch and dinner. Since we were focused on breakfast, I found myself changing my mind too often on what to decide upon. Everything looked so good! I was extra hungry that morning and spotted one of their specialty strawberry«Splatter Crepes». The crepes enveloped a delicious cream cheese, topped with sweet strawberries, powdered sugar and whipped cream. Included with this breakfast are two eggs any style, bacon or sausage, and your choice of toast or biscuit. I requested scrambled eggs, wheat toast and most impressive of all… to have my bacon cooked extra crisp! I like bacon, but only if it is cooked very well done. Most places don’t seem to understand my preference and will often think they are cooking it well, and then I end up unable to eat it. The cook on this day took my request seriously and it turned out perfectly the way I like it! My breakfast was super delicious! We all enjoyed our food, from the eggs, to the hash browns, to the pancakes, to the toast! Service was excellent and we observed the whole wait staff continuously working throughout the restaurant like a well oiled machine. Our coffee mugs and water glasses received the most attention to almost being over the top! It seemed like every few minutes someone would come to our table asking if we wanted more coffee which was especially impressive to my dad who loves his coffee! Speaking of coffee, Joe K. who used to frequent Perko’s back in the day told me that these restaurants used to be notable for serving their coffee in pastel green mugs. Then at some point the colorized mugs were fazed out, but he used to joke with waitresses by asking where his green mug was at. But unfortunately, no one seemed to know what he was talking about and usually responded with a blank look. I don’t think his inside joke will ever be understood, but I’m sure he’ll keep asking it! LOL! Anyway, this Perko’s lived up to my expectations and I can’t wait to return in the near future. Sadly, it appears that the Perko’s in Red Bluff has closed…

I have not been to Perkos in quite some time so when Ida’s father mentioned he wanted to go to Perkos, I was interested in giving it a try. A lovely young lady greeted us as we entered the restaurant and immediately seated us, gave us menus and took our orders for coffee. A few minutes later, another lovely young lady helped us with the menus. I was amazed how flexible she was about swapping out items on the menu without even charging us extra for it. She seemed very knowledgeable and was more than willing to accommodate our culinary wishes. We decided on the pumpkin pancakes with fried eggs and substituted the bacon for fresh fruit(again, at no extra cost). The food itself was pretty average. The pumpkin pancakes were good but nothing to write home about, the fried eggs were cooked perfectly, and we received a small bowl of a nice mix of fruit. The fruit was not the best tasting I have ever had but it is not the middle of the summer either. I will definitely be coming back. Our service was outstanding! It is great to find a place that is more than willing to accommodate my low sodium diet and not try to gauge my pocketbook because I prefer to not be overwhelmed with greasy food.
