The burgers here are GREATTTTT. Yea I mean it’s like 15 $ but well worth it if you like to spoil yourself. Also, Anders is a cool and helpful guy if you’re having trouble picking a beer from their many selections ! Anyway, I like it here. I want another burger really bad like right now…

If beer is your thing, than Pangaea is your spot. The beer selection is amazing and to boot they have the best burger in town«hands down». You really can go wrong with anything on the menu. The staff is highly knowledgable about beer and the service is on point. It’s a nice cozy place to enjoy a frosty pint-of-greatness and chat up beer with friend. Also beer sure to check out the bottle selection. You will come across a couple of hidden gems from time to time. Prost!

The line at Gunther’s Ice Cream was out the door as it was 102 degrees at 5pm. We decided that cold beer was a great alternative so we headed over to Pangaea. The place is bustling with people of all ages, full of community tables and a bar that is quite roomy. We chose to sit at the bar and we were immediately greeted and our order taken. We were sipping beers within 5 minutes of sitting down. The beer options are vast and there is surely something to satisfy any taste. I had the Blanche White Ale which is 4.5% and the hubs had Lunch at 8% — both amazingly good. We decided to order food — upon seeing they’re the reigning champs of Sacramento Burger Battle, I ordered the burger. Hubby got the Big Brat. The burger lives up to the hype. Dare I say better than Dad’s Burger? I might. Okay, I just did. The hand-made pickles, the sauce, the 100% Angus beef patty, cooked exactly as requested… it’s worth every penny. Include that with an ice cold brew… such a happy visit! They know their beers and are happy to answer any questions about anything they’re serving. We totally forgot to check out their Bottle Shop — but we’ll do that next visit. It’s not a hipster dope bar. It’s pure Sacramento… the good Sacramento where you can get a brew and a burger(or a brat) and get a smile or two from other happy patrons. I adored the staff — every single one I encountered was happy to be there. I will return to enjoy another beer buzz on a hot summer day. Gunther’s can wait.

I stopped in this cozy beer dispensary after devouring some delicious ice cream at Gunther’s across the street. They have a lot of good Belgian beer and the employees seemed pretty knowledgeable. The food looked great but I wasn’t hungry enough to try it. The have a small bottle shop and a nice patio outside to enjoy some brew and people watch. Beer and ice cream can go hand-in-hand so I’m happy this place exists next to a legendary ice cream parlor!

We came here, because of Unilocal,a few years ago and loved it! We do not live in the area and after staying in Rocklin for the night used our trusty Unilocal again and it brought us back. Must be really great Karma following me because we could not remember the name of this place. We pulled up and I was like«We’ve been here before!» So glad we came back. We had Sunday brunch and it was delicious! I got the breakfast burger and it was the bomb! Messy but worth every napkin I used to wipe myself down with. I, also had the imperial coffee stout and bottomless mimosa’s. Hubby didn’t like that he had to ask everytime he needed a new beer. Hence the 4 stars and not the 5! I need a restaurant/bar like this in my neighborhood!

Came here on a Wednesday night to catch the end of the Sharks game and lo and behold amazing food, service and beer. Got the burger tried to go no pickles and hats off to the cook who explained that the pickles were house made and I would be missing out if I didn’t get them on burger. Can’t wait to come back.

Awesome beer selection. I had a soft pretzel and I suggest the beer cheese as a dip. Still unclear when happy hour is but they do have an awesome special for two dinners. Prices vary depending on what the chef decided. But always something fun and unique. They have wine on tap and judging by my first time in there the prices are high for the selection. I do however love that they have 4 – 5 sour beer options! Great way to branch out Check out the beer cave! Buy a bottle you’ve never tried

The pairings were great! Thanks Kyle! I could — and apparently need to – go on for hundreds of characters about the variety of available beers. The food was very good. I liked the mussels and fries. The sausage was an unexpected bonus. The wings were great if a not bit spicy.

After numerous return visits here over the years, a few more important points to note: –The draft selection is as dynamic as ever with a dedicated sour bar now and the privilege of being one of the few if not the only beer bar in Sacramento regularly pouring Cellarmaker’s derricious brews –Noms have consistently been on point… the hot buttered pretzel with cheese dip & mustard is a huge vice of mine while the notorious Pangaea burger lives up to its reputation and then some. Nothing fancy with the toppings, just a redonkulously juicy, flavorful patty in perfect harmony with all the other components. Best yet in Sacramento IMHO with Magpie Café’s at a close second. –Keep an eye on their Facebook page for announcements on food specials and noteworthy drafts That said, keep calm and beer on!

This was was my first time here. I ordered the mac n’ cheese and shrimp bisque… both absolutely tasty. I had asked for whatever lager on draft they had and whatever they gave me(I’m getting old I can’t remember these things) to taste test was good. For a night cap I had a Sauvignon Blanc that was beautiful. The ambience was local, chill, and relaxed. Three gentleman were constantly checking in to see how I was. Great service. Next time I go I’ll pay attention to the beverages I order.

This place has the best burger I’ve ever eaten. I have no idea what they’re doing but they’re doing it right. The meat is juicy and seasoned to perfection; the pickles look homemade and are crunchy and sour. The bun is crispy on the outside, soft in the inside. I’ve had it on three occasions; once, I even picked it up to go and it was still amazing! Quite a feat to survive 30 minutes of driving and still be delicious and not soggy. Honestly, I haven’t tried anything else here because the burger is just so good. The pretzel is also quite good – buttery, dough-y but crisp on the outside, you MUST try it! The sauces provided are a bit on the meh side(a strong mustard and what tasted like nacho cheese), but the pretzel itself is worth it. The beer selection is good, and they have a water stand. The downsides: The seating is a bit awkward; either sitting around a barrel or at a giant bench. I wouldn’t recommend this place for intimate group conversations for more than 2 people. Also, each time I’ve had the burger, the price has gone up; at that rate, it’ll be $ 20 before the end of the year.

This spot is really cool. I suggest going here on the weekend for brunch and to try out some of the beers. I heard the brunch was really good and it pair well with the beer. We came here for dinner during the week and the food choices were meh. It was good, but nothing to write home about. The customer service for this place is awesome. All of the staff are very helpful and try their best to find the right beer for you. In a separate room, they have a very cool beer case of microbrews from all over the world. They have a chalk board with all of the different beers that they have on tap as you walk in. You really can’t go wrong with this place if you are into beers. Cheers my friend.

I visited Pangaea with my brother when visiting from L.A. It was great seeing so many LA craft beers being represented either in bottles or on tap. I was in beer heaven! Too bad a couple of them were tapped out either before we got there or during our visit. I also topped it off with a delicious soft pretzel and my brother thoroughly enjoyed his Caesar salad. Too bad we weren’t there during their brunch or dinner hours because those menus looked delicious! The location itself is very nice. Even with it being crowded, it wasn’t loud and you didn’t feel cramped. A lot of families were also there so it’s good to know this place is extremely family friendly. They even let us bring in a game to help sit out the rain that was pouring down outside! Since their tap selection changes all the time, I’m definitely going to have to come back every time I’m in Sacramento!

I’m so excited to give FIVE stars! It’s been a long time and when I give 5 stars it generally means I couldn’t get enough and can’t wait to come back, even if that means coming back the very next day! Specialty beer like no other place in town can be found here. If you want chocolate beer, or if you just want to entertain your palate, this is the place to be! The WINGS here are the best I’ve had in Sac! Yes that’s saying a lot because I haven’t been able to give any establishment that title in over 10 years! The pulled pork nachos are a tasteful delight as well. The low lit ambiance in the main café area is nicely laid out with a cool but warm décor. A giant chalkboard hangs on a wall to list the ever changing beer menu! In the side room where they have a bottle shop that will entertain your imagination, a bit of a different theme and atmosphere can be found. If you don’t like one room, you can always go to the other. If you don’t like either room… Something is definitely wrong with you! Pangea is a must try and stop for visitor local and from out of town!

I’m a bit disappointed. Arrived a little after 6 to meet up with my friend. We ordered the mac and cheese, flatbread, and habanero wings. I had the pinot from carmel and my friend got their beer. I don’t do beer so wine me up any day! They’re primarily known for beer so don’t expect an extensive list of wines. Service – line up, order, pay, grab a number, and find a seat. We sat outside since the weather was fairly nice. We waited for a LONG time. 30+ mins. We begun to think they forgot about us. Then the server came and apologized for the long wait and said the food was coming but the wings were gonna be shortly after because of a mishap. Okay, it happens. whatever. Just bring me something. anything to eat. Flatbread– those chili gave a mighty kick. I enjoyed it thoroughly because it was sweet from the fruit, spicy from the chili, and topped with arugula. I liked the flavors. Drawback: a bit oily. Mac and cheese– one of the best I’ve had. That’s some serious business! The bacon made it heavenly. Habanero wings– We were almost done when I looked at my friend’s plate and saw two of her bones were bright pink, meat raw. At this point she already consumed two of em and it’s pretty dark outside. After all that wait Pangaea, at least make sure it’s thoroughly cooked! That was the biggest disappointment.

Cute little hangout spot for all the old folks who enjoy beer. Personally, I’m not a beer gal. I prefer liquor when it comes to alcohol. However, I had a beer just for the heck of it. I had the daphne beer with a side of water. It was great. I don’t know much about beer but this one seemed strong. It took me about 45 minutes to drink the whole thing. Boy am I a horrible beer drinker haha. It seems like a chill place to just kick back and relax and have a beer or two. or three or four. I prefer ice cream though so next time you’ll see me next door at gunthers!

Awesome new(to me) beer spot. Prices are a bit high compared to other similar establishments but overall they have a great selection. I’ve been a couple of times now; ordered the burger the first time, ordered the bacon mac & cheese appetizer and the buttered pretzel the second time(pretzel both times, it is the food of the gods). My first time in was on a Thursday and it was surprisingly not too busy, I came back again on a Saturday and it was packed, very loud, a bit hard to carry on conversation but we got a decent table so overall we still had a good time. Food and beer is ordered at the counter, no table service which I have seen at numerous other places. Given the tight space I can see why they may have opted for this approach however the tight space is not any more conducive to weaving your way through every time you wanna order something else and there is not much room for the line that develops up at the cash register. Overall, food and beer make up for the minor inconveniences, still a cute little spot that I am sure I will be visiting many times in the future.

We were looking for a new place to try. We looked on Unilocal looking for a place not too terribly far away and decided on here! It was Sunday and they had their brunch menu to choose from. We were actually hoping for lunch but decided to stay. It seemed to be a happening place. You walk in and order your food from the bar area. They give you a number and you pick a table or wait for one to open. We ended up sitting at the bar. We both chose the waffle and fried chicken. The waffle was a pretty good sized one. It was crispy on the outside but some parts of it was raw tasting. The chicken was good. The bacon was cooked to perfection! Their coffee was also very good. That was the buffet kind where you went to refill your coffee as much as you’d like. The place was very well decorated with really cool bar décor! I especially liked the pink elephant beer tab. They even have outside seating with a heater! They also had another little seating area which is where you can also buy cool beers, too. Not a large place but functional. Super nice people working here. Customers are even nice and full of smiles! We will be back to try their lunch/dinner options…

One word: «Unbelievable!» As my Unilocal friends and I were planning for a special getaway plan on 11/19/2015, we were heading to Pangaea as a «change of plan» visit, and wow, this place is totally awesome in here as my first visit! As I entered, the atmosphere is very comforting filled with happy customers who want to enjoy the night! The concept is closely dark, yet in a low light feel filled with beers and wine that surrounds the whole room especially their wooden tables and metal stools too. Of course, this place has plenty of beers and wine available from local to international, so you can taste the«happy hour» pleasures for yourself including owning it at home. The employees including their bartenders are doing an excellent job here for making the customers like me a very friendly service! No cons at all! For the food and drink choice, I ordered a light beer called«Weihenstephan.» So far, that beer is not that bad! Very light and rich as I drank it. I also ordered their steak(cooked in medium heat) and mash potatoes dinner plate with sate broccolette. This plate is also not bad too. The steak cooked alright although it has some few pink raw leftovers on it as I cut through the steak entirely. I’m sure they need to check the steak temperature often to make sure if the steak cooks properly next time. The mashed potatoes however, did top the notch very well! Perfectly seasoned and balance especially the broccolette too! Simply a good dinner meal with a beer on it! Additionally, I tried their Mac & Cheese with bacon pieces too, and it tasted awesomely good! The parking can be difficult to park at the Curtis Park neighborhood. You can park it at the nearest surface street parking available if it’s possible. Otherwise, you can ride a bike, walk, or use public transportation easier without the hassles. In the end, Pangaea Bier Café is the coolest place to enjoy their array of alcoholic drinks available. Perfect for happy hour pleasures and social entertainment all night long! Highly recommend! My rating: 4 solid stars.

This place had me at the burning red Chimay sign out front. Sold! Inside didn’t disappoint. Relaxed vibe, and a beer list diverse enough to make you want to ponder it with great consideration. Ok, so some of the beer isn’t so cheap considering the pour size… but they have things here your tastebuds will sing for and you’ll forget about the bill. Split a flatbread and some mac n cheese with a friend. We both liked the flatbread but agreed that the mac n cheese was a let down. From the pictures of others on Unilocal it looks like what we got wasn’t the usual. A fantastic spot and yes it’s across the street from Gunther’s. Beer + ice cream will always be a good time in my book. If I am ever in this hood again I will definitely be stopping in.

First timer here, and I’m almost positive I’ll be back. I was in a sour mood to start out last night, so I tried a few of their sours on tap. At over $ 10 per pour after tax, that only lasted so long. I’d eaten already but if I hadn’t, the mac and cheese looked delicious… and«hella cheese» can’t be a bad thing. Looks like these guys won the burger battle as well. Sounds like a great idea to return for that! Thanks William L. for picking a place with empty taps so we could migrate here eventually.

This is my favorite neighborhood beer joint in the world. So chill. So good. Refined, but not snooty. Since they’ve added food it’s almost a default stop on the way in or out of downtown. The brats are huge. Their burger just won the Sac Burger Battle. Their pulled pork anything is to die for. Their mac & cheese belongs at your aunties house. If you ask nicely and say please they’ll even turn a blind eye to that Gunthers cone you just walked in with. Be forwarned. This is a café. You seat yourself. You order everything at the register unless you’re seated at the bar. The beers on tap are on a giant chalkboard to your right when you walk in. The sours are on a small chalkboard behind the register. My favorite unsung thing here are the delightful old beer glasses that you can buy in the bottle shop. Parking stinks but hey. You just can’t have everything.

I loved the chillaxed vibe of the Pangea Bier Café so much that I had to come back a second time to try a few more items from their daily menu. I was first introduced to this café when I attended a fun filled UYE hosted by my friend Ms. Jackie F. It was such a pleasure visiting with members of our awesome Elite Squad while enjoying really scrumptious food and refreshing adult beverages. The beer and food selections at Pangea are extremely eclectic, which makes complete sense considering its location in Curtis Parks’ eclectic grass roots community. What I really enjoy about the Pangea Beir Café is the daily menu. This menu is quite comprehensive as it typically includes a signature flatbread, a soup or salad of the day, a selection of appetizers, and at least 1 entrée. On this particular day, however, I was in need of a comforting meal and thus I ordered the mac and cheese as well as the flatbread of the day. OMG Pangea’s mac and cheese is sooo scrumptious. It appears that after the mac and cheese is fully cooked the chef somehow… miraculously…forms it into perfect little 2 in cubes, then rolls them in lightly seasoned bread crumbs, which are then flash fried to a golden brown. That said, when I tasted this little cube o’ love it’s was like crunchy melty cheesy heaven. Seriously… it’s that good!!! My taste buds were dancing a «jig ‘o love» in my mouth and I immediately felt my eyes glaze over as my need for comfort food was instantly quelled. When I came to my senses I took a sip of my beverage, a Pinot Grigio hard cider. This beverage is both light and refreshing, which complemented the mac and cheese nicely. For those of you HH connoisseurs, Pangeas’ price point is extremely economical and the food portions are quite generous. Additionally, this little café has a room in the back for parties as well as a wrap around patio in the front for al fresco dining. It is a perfect place to chill out and enjoy good food a refreshing drink and have a friendly conversation with one of the locals. I hope you check it out!
