PF Changs is one of those places I find myself in a little more than I realise. The food is good, and in a nice quantity(if you have a starter, you’ll be taking a box for your main) and the beer selection is great. I like a cocktail — these are a little one trick. That’s my only issue. They’re strong and sugary, but with no real personality. That’s my only star missing up there. Spice level is perfect — I can’t recommend the calamari enough(even in Ohio… nearest sea anyone?!) — and the spicy chicken with fried rice has enough bite to keep even a cynical Englishman happy. Service is a little on/off sometimes, but that’s not the restaurant’s fault really.

So I’m sitting here now. It’s been maybe about 45 minutes since our order. We have just received our order. The food may be good. But the service here is not what I thought it was going to be. A family next to us received their order but was only sitting for 20 minutes before it came. I think he was an employee…

My husband and I had never been here before so when we were given a couple gift cards, we were excited to try it out. We love Chinese food and a free dinner sounded fun. As Sacramento locals, we were aware of the attractive space we frequently drive by. However, we probably will never return(although we do have the other gift card, still). This is not a restaurant to go to for Chinese food if you usually appreciate traditional Chinese dishes. We had the«dinner for two» option: egg drop soup, crab wonton, Mongolian beef, sesame chicken and banana dessert with shrimp fried rice on the side. All of the dishes from soup to chicken were surprisingly bland and poorly rationed. The consistency and texture of the food was okay but the flavors for half the dishes tasted like they shared the same sweet and sour or orange flavor. There were large clumps of white rice in our fried rice and our dessert(a scoop of ice cream with a halved fried banana and syrup which admittedly tasted okay) took longer than even our cooked dishes did to come out. The restaurant space is very romantic, warmly lit and has an upscale American Chinese feel(copy of Chinese Terracotta warrior sculpture and all) but the loud music makes conversation difficult and works against that intimacy. In the same vein, we found the service almost humorously distracting. Though we went on a rainy night which was not very busy, our waitress seemed inattentive and apathetic. I found myself distracted from our date when our waitress loudly told another customer her food was the way it was because«I don’t know if you know, but now you know that’s just the way it is.» Another waitress who served us our food heavily dropped one of our dishes on our table after pushing a glass of water out of the way for it(although our 4-seater table had plenty of room for everything). All in all, the husband and I had a few laughs and were simply glad we didn’t have to pay out of our own pocket for the overpriced experience. Atleast we finally found out how the cute Chinese place with the killer location is like.

I went here tonight with my husband because we had a $ 50 gift card. The interior was really elegant and the service was great. Our waitress was very serious about my husband’s peanut allergy which is a huge plus for us. We ordered the dinner for two which is a four course meal($ 42 – 43) which is great pricing for the quality and quantity of the food. We chose the sweet and spicy soup, dumplings, beef with broccoli and beef lo mien for the entrée, and vanilla wontons for dessert. The food was delicious and good portioning. The beef with broccoli was a little too sweet for me but everything else was fantastic. My husband loved the ginger beer. This isn’t a place I will go to every week but we will definitely be back for special occasions. Wonderful first time experience!

Very tasty meal and cool restaurant set up(terrace seating inside restaurant. My group had the walnut shrimp(absolutely delicious), honey chicken(very tasty), spicy chicken(very tasty but recommend you order«as is» on the menu — I ordered mild and I think it would have been better spicy as listed on menu), and chicken lo mein(enjoyed by my table mates but they said it was good). Surprised the place only received 3 stars, I really enjoyed it. Also ordered a wonton soup and that was really flavorful.

In order for me to give one star, the food and service have to be bad. Mission accomplished PF Chang’s. I would give the food 2.5 stars and the service 0. First off, the food is just not good. The orange chicken is not very good. I don’t like Panda Express, but even they have better orange chicken. The Safeway on Alhambra Blvd. has much better orange chicken than PF. I asked our server what the best noodle dish was, and he recommended the Singapore street noodles. Big mistake. The sauce is not very good, making the dish disappointing. The lettuce wraps were good, and the egg drop soup was good. Let’s talk about the service though. After we had received our appetizer and entrees, I inquired with a staff member(not our server) about the soup we ordered. She said they were still making a batch. Entrees come, still no soup. Dessert comes and still no soup. Server boxes up our food to take home and still no soup, no explanation from our server. I ask about the soup again, server says he will talk to his manager. He apologizes, says the two beers we ordered will be free. He then asks if we still want the soup. YES. We ordered it didn’t we??? Soup eventually comes. The check comes, and only one beer is comped. I inquire about that, he now says only one beer will be taken off. Ok. Whatever. Then I notice a PEARMOJITO on our check. We didn’t order a pear mojito. «Sorry about that I’ll take that off.» Showed no emotion, no sincere apology. No tip. I will never return.

I’ve been here before. The food is predictably good, as are the drinks. On one recent evening the food was good again, but… the service was absolutely horrible! It literally took the waiter 10 mins for EACH of the following: a) notice me(despite telling me I could sit in the bar section and he’d serve me; b) take my drink order; c) take my food oder; d) get me silverware; e) and, check on my dinner. By the end I just went up to the bar to pay, not wanting to wait again to pay the check. Luckily I was not in a hurry. Only positive was how good looking and friendly he was, but I’m sorry, that won’t be enough next time. To be fair, he was trying to take care of bar patrons, other tables in the bar section and outside the bar section, plus and bartend for the restaurant(with another person). Dedicate the bartender to just the bar and drinks for the rest of the restaurant-that’s enough. There should have been another server for us in the bar section and the others he had to wait on outside the bar section. I saw the manager mingling around. If they were short servers, then the manager should have taken a section himself and helped out the team. I expect more from PF Chang.

I was just in PF changes picking up a To GO order. I walked In and told the Host I was there to pick up a TOGO order. She looked at me up and down and told me you could of called our curb side number we would bring it out to you making it seem like the clothes I had on(jeans and flats) was not appropriate. I didn’t think to pick up a TOGO order I needed to wear heels and a dress. NEVER going here again!

This is a decent restaurant destination be it for lunch, drinks /snacks or dinner. Nice atmosphere backed up with extensive menu choices. I like the small plates including the crispy green beans, calamari or shrimp. The«dynamite shrimp» includes a very nice and spicy aioli. The pork dumplings are also worth a try. My favorite main dish is the orange peel beef. Service is generally good. Not a great place if you are counting calories.

This pad thai was disgusting. Uneatable! In my quest to find Sacramento’s best pad thai, I unwittingly stumbled onto what is easily the worst pad thai I’ve found, maybe even the worst food I’ve ever paid money for. For a restaurant at which I’ve had many gastronomic delights(seared ahi tuna salad I’m talking about you), I am shocked at the disappointing level of food that P.F. Chang’s has served. The noodles were soggy and laden with a salty sauce without a trace of the classic tamarind-taste and sweetness which distinguish pad thai from other dishes. The meat tasted like spam, sliced and spongey, and the vegetable aspect consisted of only a few carrots and a blanket of cilantro which overpowered any potentially decent tastes of the dish. There was also a distinctly fishy taste, unexpected(and definitely unwanted) in a chicken noodle dish. I hope no one ever orders this pad thai. P.F. Changes needs to do better, or at least focus their menu to dishes they can do well.

This place is decent, but can improve on their consistency. I came here a couple of weeks ago with my boyfriend and we had a great time. The bartender was on his break but still greeted us, gave us place settings, menus and then took our order. We had ordered the Mongolian Beef, Garlic noodles(no vegetables) and Sesame chicken(no vegetables). The Mongolian beef was delicious(tender yet crispy at the ends). The garlic noodles tasted sweet but had flavor of garlic. Downfall of the garlic noodles is that they added green onion when I specifically stated no vegetables(no big). The sesame chicken was so-so but the chicken was a bit dry. Last night I placed a to-go order and the experience was a bit different(food specifically). I decided to walk to the restaurant and tried calling but their line was busy(10 minute walk). Upon walking in, there weren’t any customers but I did spot a server at the to-go station so I assumed that they were busy for to-go orders(that’s why I couldn’t get through). The server took down my order and also repeated my order. I paid with a gift card and he told me that he’ll bring my order to me once it’s done. I had ordered: –pepper steak: Pepper steak flavor was decent. It simply seemed flavored with a bit of spice, pepper and a brown sauce. Steak was tender, but I don’t think I’ll order it again. –orange peel beef: Not a fan. The sauce had a thick consistency making the beef look really bumpy. I requested no vegetables and they still put green onions. it was difficult to eat since the green onions was covered by the sauce making it difficult to pick out. The beef was tender, but I won’t order this again. –mongolian beef: this dish only comes with scallions. I don’t mind the scallions, but the beef was cooked perfectly. This dish seems consistent. –garlic noodles: I had requested this dish to be spicy and again no vegetables. Sadly when I opened the container, the noodles seemed a bit dry and to not my surprise they had added green onions. What’s even more upsetting is that there was no spice factor at all. It tasted exactly the same as I had ordered a couple of weeks ago. I wanted more kick as a different location I’ve been to tastes spicier. I will order this again, but I guess I have to be more specific of what NOVEGETABLES mean. I love vegetables, but my boyfriend doesn’t care for them. I compromise, but what’s upsetting is that when you request no vegetables, you still seem to get vegetables. I don’t want my boyfriend to have to pick out vegetables from his dish. It’s time consuming and by the time he’s done, the food gets a bit cold. I’ll give this place one more time, of course I’ll order the mongolian beef but I will make sure that my garlic noodles are cooked to my liking and they won’t sneak in green onions again.

I guess it’s trendy to hate on PF Changs now. What did PF Changs ever do to you guys damn. Darn hipsters and their critical ways. I always have a good time here. The food is good, atmosphere is good, service is good. Sure their menu items are calories galore but when did you ever go out to Chinese expecting diet food? They do have some keto friendly stuff on the menu as well as gluten free but you gotta check the nutrition facts online before cuz they don’t put them in the menu. Which is weird, I swear they used to. Oh well. My fortune cookie said someone will give me some good advice soon. Man, if I had a dollar for every time someone gave me a piece of advice, I reckon I’d have about a couple hundred dollars. Better luck next time.

Basically, this is just Chinese fast food. I’ve been here several times, most recently for some take out, and I have yet to be satisfied. I’m not sure there is anything about P.F. Chang’s that makes it any better than any other Chinese restaurant in town. The food was just o.k. and the service is sub par. To feed a family of 5 cost me $ 95! Why would I ever come here again if I can get a better meal for less elsewhere? I called in my take out order in the morning so it would be ready at 5, but when I showed up, I waited 25 minutes! The only thing P.F. Cang’s has going for it is that it is a chain. What little business it gets probably has more to do with customers who settle for the closest local large chain so they can please everyone. It’s the kind of place you take out of town visitors you don’t care about. I would suggest any other Chinese restaurant in midtown over P.F. Chang’s. Why two stars instead of one? Well it’s not awful, but it’s pretty bad. Btw…I’m pretty sure P.F. stands for«Phony Fugazi.»

On the corner of 16th and J Nice restaurant Indoor and Outdoor seating People generally thumb their nose at P.F. Chang’s. It’s a chain. It’s Americanized Chinese. etc. etc. But, I like it. This place serves lunch and dinner. Vegan-friendly. Full bar and they carry local brews. TVs behind the bar. Hooks under the bar. I’ve actually liked what I’ve had. I can’t say it’s my favorite or love it but it’s cool with me. Lettuce Wraps– You gotta be comfortable with someone to eat Lettuce Wraps with cuz it can get messy. My server said any of the vegetable entrees are Vegan as long as sugar is okay with yo’ Vegan self.(Processed sugar involves bone char). It’s because of this sugar aspect that they don’t call it Vegan. On your receipt, you have an opportunity to take a survey to receive 10% off your food bill on your next visit. You have to utilize your discount in 30 days. If not, it’s gonna be on the check again the next time you eat there anyway.

Had a great meal here before attending music circus. Close proximity. Can valet here and walk over to venue 3 blocks away. Be sure to tell valet you are going to a show because if it gets out later than they are there they will give u your keys and parking space # so you can get car. For the meal — we had chicken lettuce wraps, dynamite scallop roll and changs crisp salad with seared ahi tuna. Lettuce wraps are always a favorite. They use to make your sauce in front of you and flavor/spice to your likening. They didn’t do this and just brought out already made sauce. Still delicious but would of liked little more heat. The dynamite scallop roll was delicious! Salad was great but they originally brought out half made salad without some ingredients and didn’t include ahi. Told waitress and she promptly took and returned with fully made salad. It was very good. They also removed the salad charge from our bill. We didn’t ask nor expected that. Above and beyond. Overall enjoyable meal and great location!

I was craving Wonton Soup something fierce today for lunch and was going to find some close to work. Saw that P.F. Changs sells it, I actually placed my order on Unilocal and it showed a 30m wait. For soup I knew it wouldn’t take that long. I walked over to the the restaurant, which took about 5m or so. When I walked in I was greeted by a not so friendly girl, who then directed me to the back. Before I could even walk up I was greeted by the most jolly, fun and happy person ever. I wish I would have caught her name but it doesn’t matter she was awesome. She was so friendly, energetic and willing to help. She told me I def didn’t need to wait for my soup. She went to the kitchen spoke to a nice gentleman named DJ, who was also very nice. They both let me know separately that my order would be right out and made it happen within 10m tops. She pulled my order up, DJ took over, was extremely friendly and sincere and I was out. The icing on the cake was that I asked for a soda to places on my bill, he refused to have me pay for it. It’s not everyday that you come in contact with amazingly friendly people who want to help. I appreciate the service I received today and will definitely be back. Thank You, you 2!!!

Kinda used to with Americanized Chinese food already, if you are going to get the authentic one, probably American kinda scared Trying P.F. Chang’s order online for lunch today and it’s good, since the weather is so hot. Put in order to go online, you got to choose the time to pick up too, just parking in front of the rest at the loading zone and call them for curbside to go while waiting in the car and someone from the rest will bringing the foods to you. Mongolian beef with white rice substitute to fried rice and mixed greens salad are good and filling for me, gonna try something else next time. Hubby love his shrimps with lobster sauce with white rice and wonton soup. Daughter love her kid’s chicken lo mein, there is only lo mein stir fry with chicken and their sauce daughter.

This was our 2nd visit to this Sacramento location and we were not disappointed. The food was very good, tasty, and was delivered to us in a timely manner without any delays. We ordered a prix fixe dinner that had many choices. We started with the Hot & Sour Soup which was very good and came piping hot, just the way I like my soup. The Mongolian Beef was excellent and the beef very tender. Our vegetable dish was the Buddha’s Feast, with baked tofu and stir-fried mixed vegetables. Ginger Chicken with Broccoli was also excellent. Cori, our server, was excellent. She was very friendly and always smiling, knowledgeable, and was there for us if we needed anything. Altogether our dining experience was excellent. A wonderful restaurant to enjoy good food, quiet atmosphere, and excellent service in downtown Sacramento.
