Orale Mole

I had ordered the tacos from here, they were all very tasty, just a tad pricey for 3 tacos. There was a lot of meat.

Go for taco trio– though we ate 3 plates for two people:

Food truck came to my job site today. They only come at business/​event request and aren’t typically found in the street. I ordered the taco flight at the owners advice. Here’s what I thought:
Chicken mole — the taco was served with plain chicken and sauce drizzled over the top. meat was pretty bland. I don’t think there was a drop of seasoning. The mole wasn’t very tasty at all. Totally disjointed dish… this is one of the worst moles I’ve had.
Carnitas — carnitas was pretty tasty. They weren’t crispy like I prefer but had a lot of flavor. This one stood out and worth ordering again.
Carne asada — extremely greasy care asada but had good flavor. I think this would be worth ordering again if they drained the meat a bit before serving.
All in all, not a big fan of the food here. Get the carnitas or walk away. I wish I could have enjoyed it more to support a fellow military veteran.

Tried Orale Mole last weekend while they were parked at Berryessa Brewing in Winters.
Since there was not a whole lot to chose from the menu we picked Taco Flight and Meat Loaf Sliders. Sliders were a better deal at a bit more then $ 8 as they came with beans/​rice and two very good mini burgers with meat loaf patties. I enjoyed the slider as it was soft, moist, but not soggy.
The other dish we tried, Taco Flight, was not so impressive. It is basically three street tacos, one each chicken, beef, and pork. I found beef the best out of the three with chicken second and pork last. Not sure why and how is this even possible but pork tasted greasy and dry at the same time. Not a fan. All three tacos are very small and at more then $ 2 each (the flight was $ 7.50, if I remember right) are a bit on the expensive side for a food truck.
Since I got hungry while drinking beer and didn’t feel like driving for food, Orale Mole truck and the sliders did fine. If I was looking for strictly food and not convenience, Orale Mole would get a lower rating. This way my rating is right on the point for what 3 stars mean: A-​OK.

Roel from Orale Mole was beyond unprofessional. He booked an event with me after being referred through the food mob. He did not call or email to cancel and he did not show up. Working in the business world I know that sometimes things come up, but to not call or email to cancel is inconsiderate and unprofessional. As a Sacramento patron and frequent food truck goer I am highly disappointed by this truck and their lack of ethics. When emailed about this situation Roel responded by stating he was booked somewhere else and «did not have it on his calendar» and «he may have made a mistake,» still not taking any responsibility. This is just another way they are showing they are lacking what others are bringing to the Sacramento food truck scene, customer service and professionalism!
Catherine through Food mob was great and beyond apologetic even though this was in no way her fault. Just need to let my other food truck people know about this one!
