Dom and his staff know how to make a good sandwich. Whether you have breakfast or lunch here, you’ll be happy with the selections ! On some days, they serve burgers and fries which I’ve had several times. They’re pretty darn tasty, too! Not into sandwiches? They also serve soup, salads, fruit, snacks, and yogurt. There are plenty of tables and chairs but they fill up fast during lunch hour.

First time here. Where to begin? You get off the elevator and there’s a line in the hallway. Ok so it’s lunch time, understandable. The menu looks very interesting. I ordered a Traditional Italian Panini. You finally get to the head of the line and then you realize why it moves so slowly. There are three guys manning the counter, taking orders then preparing them right there. I have never experienced such bad attitude, indifference, rudeness and condescending treatment, all being dished out in slow motion. You finally get your sandwich — all this waiting and frustration for a badly prepared, absolutely bad panini. It should not even be called a Panini. Utter waste of time and money. This place is inside the State Capitol! That’s the last time I am going to have lunch inside these hallowed halls! Should I have expected this? Being in a place surrounded and populated by politicians? That’s for another forum!

The burgers on Thursday, French dip, and club sandwich are so so so tasty! The staff is friendly, especially helps when the cashier is so sweet! The décor is whatever but the foods quality is top notch.

Have family or friends coming to visit? TAKETHEMHERE! :D I had fun impressing my fam with a trip to … no. no. no. NOT the Capitol… but to the Deli IN the capitol on the 6th floor… because honestly they didn’t want to be bored with government work but wanted to say they got in to some secret cool room, that isn’t touristy! I go to the governor’s office often for work but found this gem with a friend. It’s a classic deli but I wasn’t disappointed by the flavor, presentation, or price of my sandwich. Need to go back and try more stuff! Staff was very friendly, kept the line focused and moving, and got the food hot and ready in my little hand in no time! 4 stars for a Deli with an EXTRACOOL Location!

This is the 6th Floor cafeteria and lunch room in the State Capitol Building frequented by both Capitol workers and visitors to the Capitol. The people who work here are so nice! They know everyone in the building and they are friendly and learn your name. They give great service. It’s nothing fancy, just a deli sandwich or a breakfast burrito like you’d make at home, but it’s a big convenience having it at work if you didn’t have time to pack a lunch and are in too much of a hurry to walk anywhere. They have daily specials on breakfast and lunch, soup of the day and burgers on the flat top grill on Thursdays(veggie burger option too). I’m not crazy about their garden salads but the fruit salad is pretty sizeable, and if you order a BLT they really hook it up with the bacon. They are always fully stocked on coffee, mochas, Go Girl, Red Bull, Chobani, Odwalla, Vitamin Water, ice cream, soda, juice, cereal, bananas, oranges, tea(hot and iced), cookies, muffins, candy, granola bars, trail mix, nuts, aspirin, Tums, Alka-Seltzer(which you might need if you eat all those things at once) and every other little thing your heart could desire. They have a couple big-screen tvs where they feature the thrilling entertainment options of legislative floor session or committee hearings. They switched over to eco-friendly packaging so they charge 10 cents for your plastic fork now, and they just returned to a minimum $ 5 charge on ATM cards. There is another public cafeteria downstairs with hot food items and a salad bar but I prefer O’Deli.

You know those mornings you look in your fridge and find that you have NOTHING worthy of creation or consumption and drop your head in shame and agony at the promise of a dismal lunch? This happens to me quite often. Or I just wake up 20 minutes before I have to leave for work, and I stab my eyes out trying to put on mascara while attempting to find my ever-elusive set of keys, leaving me with no option but to arrive to work lunch-less. This happens quite often, too. Regardless! O’Deli is quick, reliable, consistent(from what I can tell), and fairly priced. The only major downside is that they have a $ 10 card minimum, and this amount is actually a bit difficult to meet, keeping the aforementioned fairly priced characteristic in mind. Unfortunately for me, I rarely carry cash, so this is a big downside for me, but I will admit: $ 2.75 breakfast burritos are the ISH! However. Do not choose the sausage. It be some kinda nasty. However. DO order the bacon one, ’cause it’s all kinds of tasty.

I love this deli, but they aren’t located in the 915 L building anymore, they’re actually on the 6th floor of the Capitol.

Soup’s been suckin’ it recently, and the size of the cup just shrunk without a corresponding price drop. Boo!

LOVE this place. I don’t even venture out for lunch anymore here at the Capitol. The food here is good, with a wide selection of hot entrees, sandwiches and salads. They have a lot of beverages to choose from and they serve Java City coffee. It’s clean, fast and the service alone is 5-star worthy. The manager, Dam, always makes it a point to see how my day is going and the lady at the register always greets me with a smile. This is the same O’Deli that was over on L Street, but mucho mejor. There’s no point in me traipsing out to Ambrosia where I have to wait 30 minutes in a line, then another 15 for my meal, or La Bou, which doesn’t need much explanation
