OB 2000 Restaurant

This is a locally owned family business located just across from roosevelt park, which makes its profit on the lunch rush.
They do a pretty good burger meal for just a little bit more then mc’ds pricing.
They do get busy at lunch times so either plan ahead, or come around the rush but the freshly made and thick burgers and fries are pretty dang good.
It’s gonna run you about ten bucks pretty much, although the daily specials-​typically a burger and drink, no fries-​can be had for about seven.
Seating is a counter by the window, and an assortment of tables. If it’s not busy they’ll bring the food out, otherwise it’ll be called out and you pick it up.
Everything on the burger will mean the usual veggies with a type of 1000 island dressing. So if you want ketchup or mustard specify when you order.
Veg patty is available, but this isn’t the best veg burger place. For meatatarians this place is a solid burger meal.
They accept all cards for payment via the magic of square.

This was a resounding ALRIGHT. It’s in close proximity to the Capitol and serves breakfast and lunch. I got a breakfast burrito there this morning a la carte which they call an «OB grill wrap.» It’s a burrito people. They did let me substitute mushrooms for meat which I appreciated and gave me some mild salsa. But honestly nothing tasted like anything. There were eggs, potatoes, cheese and mushrooms but I don’t think there was any salt or pepper on anything. The size was also a bit disappointing but I shouldn’t have been surprised with the total coming to $ 4.34. Basically if you’re in dire need of sustenance, this place will do.

Four stars for a great burger and fantastic fries. I stopped by for lunch today due my need for a burger fix and was pleasantly surprised. It’s a bit more pricey than I would have liked (regular burger with cheese combo meal was just over $ 9 with tax), so I’ll hold on five stars until I’ve sampled some more of their food.
The inside was clean and a staff person had just wiped down the counter. The clientele was nearby office employees, so most of the people where grabbing and going.
On the plus side, you do get a decent amount of fries and the burger is rather large. I may very well bump this up with subsequent visits but doubt I’ll go back soon. Thanks!

Wanted ice cream walking around Roosevelt park and stumbled across this place. Ordered a scoop of ice cream for 2.25 and it was just what I wanted. The staff seems friendly and they have a lot of food options. I will be back to try them out.

I am visiting from Mississippi for a week. The breakfast wraps which are really breakfast burritos are very good. They come with lots of cheese, potatoes, and choice of meat for 3.99.
You can get tots and a drink for 6.99. They are very stingy with the salsa. They will give you a small container half full and if you want another one it’s 80 cents. I’m not paying an additional 80 cents. This review is for the breakfast wrap only. I have been here many times this year and only order that. I recommend getting the burrito without the tots since it’s plenty of potato already in the burrito.

Their burgers reminds me of the old McDonalds big and tasty burgers. Tasty but bigger in price. They have a good location for the state tribe that empties out around lunch hour, but it would be hard pressed to stand up to some of the other big joints in town.

breakfast burritos are the best!!! and I love their green salsa I just wish they would supply more in the cup, especially if I have to pay for a side of it! other than that, I do love this place very much.

Well I went here with 4 co-​workers for a quick lunch. We decided on this place because it was close and had decent Unilocal reviews. I ordered a simple grilled cheese yet my sandwich had 3 pieces of cheap American cheese not melted. I asked the guy if I could get it cooked more and with rolled eyes snatched my food and gave it to the cook who also rolled her eyes and slapped it on the grill. I also asked for ranch. I was given about ¼ teaspoon. Thanks buddy. My co-​worker ordered a chicken sandwich. The chicken was so thin it resembled a piece of cheese. My co-​worker said it was so bad that he could not finish it. The reason for the 1 star? When I get back to work, another co-​worker started it was disgusting. Wow… 6 people in one sitting who think this place was disgusting. Don’t waste your money here.

This place is across the street from my work. I was having a terrible day and stopped in for a scoop of coffee ice cream.
There isn’t anything inviting about the interior or décor, but they were playing Night at the Museum 2 in the big screen and my gloomy mood faded away.

BREAKFAST review:
Not very good.
had their version of a benedict… TERRIBLE.
Burnt/​overcooked bacon that tasted like it was made earlier. Egg on top over tator tots. the benedict sauce was cheese and there was barely any.
Never again for breakfast.

Oh OB 2000 — we have such a love-​hate relationship.
It’s a greasy spoon. The fries are properly seasoned and the burgers are burgers. Nothing super gourmet or fancy, just burgers for days. They have shakes too, which I am constantly lusting after but I cant bring myself to eat fries and a cheese burger and a milk shake on my lunch break. Plus I think that would kill me.
OB 2000 is consistent and it doesnt try to be anything else. And quick. And convenient. If SuzieBurger were right next door, I dont think I would ever step inside again, and it isnt like over the weekend I say to myself, «I could go for some OB 2000,» but when it comes to lunch spots within a couple blocks of my work, this is my spot for burgers.

Food: To be fair, I’ve also had worse. Honestly, their burgers aren’t bad, but they’re nothing to write home about. My Capitol burger constituted one of the most manilla lunch experiences I’ve had in Sacramento (
). The meat was actually above average, but the lettuce, bun, and tomato could’ve been more fresh. Their chunky fries actually brightened up the meal substantially if that tells you anything (
). In addition, they also serve ice cream and milkshakes, mostly in standard flavors with some interesting ones mixed in, like creamsicle.
Atmosphere: This place needs a facelift like yesterday. Everything, from the floor to the tables looks like it was purchased from a discount restaurant supply store. It could have had some sort of retro charm had there been anything with an ounce of character in here. The one saving grace is the outdoor seating lining 10^th Street.
Service: Even though there was no one else in here, I got the feeling that I was wasting the cashier’s time. You ask one question about their ice cream selection and suddenly you’re demanding.
Synopsis: If you want a cheap burger within walking distance of the Capitol, this’ll do pig.

This place has some really good Burgers. The previous owners were extremely nice and kind. The pieces now are a little pricey but never the less pretty good food. If I’m in the area and want a burger I would definitely stop at OB’s!

Great food with great customer service busy during lunch means that the burger is good and good size

I liked this place. You can say it’s «just» burgers and fries and milkshakes, but it’s burgers and fries made to order, with real bacon they just cooked (if you’re into that), and real ice cream milkshakes, that they scoop right there. There’s nothing fake there (except maybe the ‘Gunsmoke re-​runs on the tv). The people who work there are always nice to me when I’m there, so I’m happy to support their business. It’s too hot for outside seating right now, but I’m sure that once it cools off it will be nice to sit outside.

I don’t eat beef, so burger spots are generally not spots for me to frequent. However, OB2000 is a couple blocks from my job and so far, a pretty decent place to eat. I have had the chicken sandwich prepared grilled and crispy and it was delicious. I am somewhere in the middle on the fries, but they aren’t bad.
What I actually like most about OB2000 so far is the breakfast. The sausage sandwich is a wonderful way to start a morning and I am NEVER upset when I am in the same place as some fresh tater tots. Overall, it’s a decent place to pop into, the service is great, and I have never felt let down by my food choices. It’s worth a visit.

I LOVE this place!!! I believe what makes a good burget stand out besides the meat is the kind of bun that is used. OB 2000’s burger buns are superb and takes their burgers to the next level.
I always get the mushroom burger and they never skimp on the mushrooms. Their milkshakes are also pretty good and I believe it’s because of the good quality of ice cream they use. I normally dont like the thicker french fries that they serve here but they make up for it by always cooking it extra crispy.
Service is always friendly here. And they are never impatient with me when I make all these alterations yo my order. I appreciate how they never raise an eyebrow at my pickiness when I place my order.

I had no idea this place was even here, but am so glad I stopped in. I had to take my car into the shop and walk to work afterward, so I ended up taking a different route. As I walked, I wondered where I could score a good hot breakfast to ease my car trouble woes. The Unilocal app didn’t turn up anything that was quick, cheap, and on my way, so I resigned myself to sad desk breakfast.
But, soft! what light through yonder window breaks? It is the east, and OB 2000 is the sun. From across the park I could see «BREAKFAST» spelled out in big yellow lighted letters. I stumbled toward the celestial beacon and found myself standing in front of OB 2000.
I was greeted warmly immediately upon entering and had my order taken quickly by a very friendly young lady at the counter. It is pretty obviously a family-​run business and everyone was pleasant, smiling, and cheerful. I ordered a ham and egg breakfast sandwich to go and squinted suspiciously at the cheap price, wondering what crap they were going to throw at me.
Just a few minutes later, I was on my way out with a warm paper bag clutched in my hungry paws. At my desk, I opened the wax paper to reveal one of the best breakfast sandwiches I’ve had in a while. The English muffin was perfectly toasted and hadn’t gotten soggy in the paper. Perfect amounts of ham, egg, and cheese. I call it a success.
OB 2000 is not on my normal route to work, but I’m definitely coming back for more breakfast and to try their lunch sometime., especially considering that the place reminded me of Burger Inn a little bit, and Burger Inn has the worst breakfast sandwiches ever.

They have great Grilled Chicken sandwiches at lunch time. They also have some of the best French Toast I have had. Definitely worth your time to stop by. The owner is always looking for ways to improve on everything and values feedback. That is a sign of true leadership.
5÷1÷2014: They have stopped serving breakfast. I think it wasn’t worth the amount of customers that showed up. Not many people even knew they had breakfast plus location made that difficult.
