If it wasn’t for the bread, we’d rate this with one star. Ordered the Prosciutto Sandwich with a less than side of salad. Disappointed that the dressing over-powers the thinly sliced prosciutto and chips of avocado. Maybe we were too close to closing and the staff wasn’t interested in representing your best. Dad appreciates the thoughtfulness and response from the owner acknowledging his disappointment. The invitation to return and the consideration being made is admirable and notably a sign for success. Best wishes and see you again.

Really tasty food(I’ve only had the beet salad and a chimichurri chicken quinoa bowl, but will be back for more) with plenty of seating indoors and outdoors in the Wal Public Market, this is quickly becoming a favorite. Most of the staff I’ve encountered are friendly, I look forward to sampling more of the menu.

Purchased their Curried Apple Chicken Salad which tasted awesome. Best of all I left the place with my stomach full and happy. I enjoyed the healthy selection of salads and drinks that this place has to serve. On Tuesday evenings they have live entertainment on their patio. Nothing very special but the outside environment and people are a great way to unwind a busy Tuesday.

I do not generally write a review after visiting a place only once, but I cannot wait to return to Metro. Plus, I’ve actually been three times if you count the times I’ve ordered cold-pressed juice. Yesterday, however, was the first time I actually ate there. I wish I had come to eat sooner, but I live on the other side of midtown. No, it’s not THAT far, but I always end up choosing a spot closer to home or work. Now that I have been I will definitely be returning more often. This is because I ate here, every last bite of my food, and felt GREAT afterward without having to eat a salad. Generally when I go out to eat and am trying to eat healthy, choices are very limited. At Metro, there are so many more choices and everything still sounds flavorful and satisfying. I chose the portobello mushroom sandwich, which came with chimichurri, pickled red onions, spinach, avocado, and I believe roasted red pepper. I made it a combo and got a great side salad with shaved parmesan, a bit of quinoa and pepitas. My friend chose one of the quinoa bowls and asked to substitute chicken for the beets. This was no problem though I’m not sure if there was a charge. Regardless, her chicken was juicy(I had to try some of course). The bowl came with an avocado sauce, cauliflower, carrots, delicious marinated garbanzo beans, asparagus… perhaps more but I can’t be sure. I got a watermelon basil kombucha on draft, and she got a Healthy Start smoothie. I can’t emphasize enough how awesome it is to have a place here in midtown(okay, maybe it’s technically downtown) with healthy, flavorful, fresh options. Though you just order your food at the counter, service was very friendly and timely. Plus, Metro is located in the WAL Public Market which is full of other cool shops to check out and support more local business.

Just had their new quinoa bowl for lunch and it was really good! Full of delicious veggies and big enough to fill me up, but everything tastes so fresh and light that I’m not stuffed. Owners are so sweet and really care about high quality ingredients. Staff are always friendly and my order came out quick — perfect for my short lunch break.

This is a review for the drinks and staff… Want to try the food sometime as well. I wish I had gotten the name of the guy at the counter. He was awesome! I got the Ciderosa… Which is Two Rivers Cider(LOVELOVELOVE their cider) mixed with any juice/kombucha you want! The drink master(that’s what I’m going to refer to him as until I figure out his name) suggested that I get the apple/beet leaves juice — I can’t even find that on the juice menu, but whatever it was — It was delicious! I came with friends and hung out a while on the nice patio… They set up a corner of the eating area to do performances. The drink master came up and started singing! He’s a good singer. You sir, are a multi-talented man. Thanks for a great drink suggestion and the entertainment. Definitely a hipster place… But maybe I’m a bit of a hipster. :)

I really enjoyed the friendly atmosphere and staff. You can sense the caring feeling in the responses to some of these reviews. Tore up the egg salad sandwich, can’t wait to try the rest!

Decided on coming here for lunchtime. Ended up deciding on the Metro Egg Salad Sandwich. It came with a small side salad with carrots and celery which added a nice touch. The sandwich itself was tasty and filled me right up. While it was not absolutely special, for the price it was worth it. Pretty good customer service also with nice employees willing to answer all your questions. Give this place a shot if you get the chance :)

Beautiful presentation! Great service! Food was good but could have used a little more greens and more sauce, but overall a solid 4.13 stars :)

I ordered delivery through Postmates. The bread was delicious. We had an egg salad sandwich and a prosciutto sandwich. I made a special request to have brie added to the prosciutto sandwich. Although my request was honored, I was disappointed at the tiny slice of Brie on each half of this sandwich. However, the sun dried tomato tapenade made up for it. I will visit again.

Came here for Fish Face and left with gelato! My husband and I each got a gelato push pop. Admittedly, they’re made elsewhere but WHOCARES? PUSHPOPS!!! He got the salted caramel(way too sweet and caramel-y for me) and I got the ever-delicious espresso chip. What made this great is the customer service. The guy who helped us didn’t have on a name badge or else I’d give him a shout out. Very friendly, great sense of humor, and very helpful!

Located inside WAL Public Market, across Fish Face. I had Metro Juice from a farmers market and when I went to Fish Face, I saw Metro was across the way but it wasn’t open at the time. Now, they’re participating in Sac Vegan Chef Challenge and I checked it out. For the challenge, you choose a soup or salad, then your main, and it comes with a Cashew Coconut tart with berry or caramel sauce for $ 16. All of it. The food was fresh and tasty. I seriously considered getting more food just to take with me because I wanted to try other stuff. but later. I was full. It was lunch and I even thought. maybe I’ll just come back again for dinner. It was good. Then I had to stop. Tell myself«It’ll still be there.» Calm down. I liked it. Their juice is cold pressed and they also serve alcohol.

Review for drinks only. I honestly like the concept of this little healthy place but the prices per the size of what you get will cause others to go elsewhere. Here is the run down: *I love the Kombucha which will run you $ 4.00 or more; I can’t remember the one I got but the other one which is Strawberry Mint was a bit minty for me. *The Ice Coffee Small will run you $ 3.26.. . that is steep for 16 oz. cold coffee. * There are a number of flavors of the Cold Pressed Juice, they range in sweet to bitter, I lean more towards the Leaves Juice(Kale and other veggies) because the sweeter ones such as Pineapple are way too sweet. The good thing is the staff will let you taste each one that is available. Those run you $ 6 plus. Overall a healthy concept but at a cost. I guess I could walk a bit further and go to another place for pressed juice or suck it up and pay the cost.…And probably will not be purchasing any coffee there anytime soon.

I got two cookies: mango cashew and raspberry almond. They were both totally delicious, but not in a normal cookie type way. They tasted more rich, possibly vegan, and like they were made of wholesome ingredients. I almost went back the very next day for more cookies. Whatever they are, they’re great.

**A review for stuff OTHER than their juice! The ‘Drinkery’ in their name, came in clutch last night! While we were dining at Fish Face Poke Bar, literally ten steps in across from their store front, we didn’t really want their options of Cider or Beer. My Bestest(Krystle R.) happened to glance over at MKD and see they had wine. Great, we love us some wine. So while we waited for our order, we went to look at the wine offerings… ONLY to find out they also had cocktails! HOTDAMN! We were in business. A small, but all encompassing drink menu. I went with the Blueberry Mojito and she went with the Blackberry Margarita! We paid and then waited… then waited… and then waited some more. Finally, the sweet server/cashier brought out her drink first. Then a minute or two later brought out mine. Yes, we waited an odd amount of time — BUT these were the prettiest crafted drinks we’ve seen in awhile. They tasted fresh, but not light on the booze, and slightly magical! The bartender/woman-who-made them muddled her little heart out and did an amazing job, even if it was a 10 minute/drink process. They were so good, we went back to order another round of the exact same drinks. Except this time, I added their Lemon Lavender cupcake to the tab. Not only we’re we already lovin’ their cocktails, but that cupcake was just as delicious. I’m not sure if they outsource or not, but it was bomb. I don’t generally like frosting, but their was light(but a little oily) and so flavorful I spread it all over my half of the cupcake. It was refreshing and the perfect way to end our meal in the new WAL Public Market! I’m excited to go back to try their juices, but that’s just the faux hippie in me talking. The price point is on par with any other Grid spot slanging hand crafted beverages. I’ll sacrifice the my time for one of their beautiful boozy beverages!

I really like where this place is located. Sacramento is definitely taking our dining experience to the next level! Metro Kitchen is located in the WAL Sacramento Public Market. Reminiscent of Emeryville Public Market, Napa Public Market, and LA. If you don’t know what I mean: it’s basically a space where different vendors sell, food, drink, and general goods. Great for friends who have different cravings! The hubs really wanted to check out Fish Face Poke and I wasn’t in the mood for raw fish. Thank goodness Metro Kitchen had different offerings. I had the Watermelon cold pressed juice($ 6); which was refreshing! For dinner I had the Greek Quinoa Salad($ 7). It was alright. It was served in a small martini glass. Visually appealing, but not as tasty as I would have hoped. Kinda weird that my drink cost as much as my meal. Besides cold press juice and salad, they offer dinner plates and open faced sandwiches along with koombucha. Maybe I’ll try another menu item next time.

I stopped in to try this place for the beer. I glanced at the menu which looked like small plates and appetizers. The guy behind the counter was nice and gave me a couple samples. I explained I like dark beers so he gave me a dark beer first then a pale ale second which he suggested. After he let me sample the beer, I asked for a pint of the first sample. I looked away for a second and he presented me with a pint of the second sample. Womp, womp, womp… Fail… Damn dude, learn the difference between 1st and 2nd. Watch a baseball game or two. The announcers will help you with that as the runners get on base. This place really underwhelmed.

Ordered an iced mocha. Compared to the picture that was posted of the mocha, the one I receive was three shades lighter. Tastes like milk with a small hint of chocolate. Wished I would have tasted it right away before I got in my car :/. Friendly customer service. While waiting, I tried the leaves pressed juices. Tastes great but I really needed coffee. Wished they had an espresso machine to add to my mocha.

We needed a drink after gobbling up the delicious, but salty poke and Metro is right across from Fish Face! They had tons of bottles of pressed juices, but my fiancé LOVES kombucha, so he ordered a cranberry kombucha. YUM! It was very tart, but super refreshing! It was the perfect drink after our dinner. They also had tasty looking donuts and pastries, but we were way too stuffed to try any. It looks like just a regular juice place, but they also serve coffee, tea, appetizers, and cocktails! I guess that is why they are called kitchen AND drinkery. :P

This review is only for the Metro Juice. I came to Metro Juice(K+D) Friday around lunch time and tried their peach mint juice, which has peach, pineapple, apple, mint, and lime. It was very delicious, cool, and refreshing. I also tried their Roots+ juice, which has beets, carrot, apple, orange, ginger, and lemon. It was also refreshing and had a great taste to it. The juices taste very fresh and you can see the workers pressing the juice in the back room. Before, I thought Metro Juice only served juice, but this place is actually called Metro Kitchen and Drinkery and they also serve food and alcohol. They have one menu full of cocktails and alcoholic drinks and another for food, including small plates, salads, tartine, flatbreads, and desserts. A few items that stand out are the shrimp ceviche and avocado, the caprese antipasto, caprese salad with balsamic reduction, and quinoa with seasonal roasted vegetables. They also serve coffee and pastries. The customer service was very friendly and they were very happy to provide samples of their juice. The price for the juices range from $ 5-$ 7.50, depending on what size you get. So far, their juice tastes great and the place looks very promising.
