Spanish Recording For Online Orientation Is A Success With KVIE

Back in March of this year, we began an eLearning recording for our California Community
Care Licensing Division’s (CCLD) Online Orientation (OO) in English. This go-​around was the time to record the Spanish Language version.
THE SETUP — PABLO ESPINOSA
We got dynamic professional Spanish-​speaking talent to record the OO-​script in the person of Pablo Espinosa. Pablo is a Special Projects Media Consultant for the California State Assembly, focusing on multimedia press and constituent outreach for Assembly Speaker Toni G. Atkins and the Assembly Democratic Caucus.
Prior to his current position, Pablo served as Deputy Director of the Speaker’s Office of Member Services (SOMS) under Assembly Speakers Fabian Nuñez and Karen Bass. He also has had a 14 year career as a broadcast journalist for NBC, CBS and Univision in markets including San Antonio, Waco, Fresno and Sacramento, where he was an anchor, political reporter and host of the network’s statewide public policy program, «Voz y Voto.»
Pablo has been the recipient of numerous journalism awards, including two Emmys. In addition, he has written for national publications including Television Week and Sports Illustrator. So Pablo brought to the table a wealth of speaking and editing-​talent that tremendously helped with our project.
THE TECH
We still needed the professional recording studios of KVIE Public Television Channel 6 to assist in the recording as they have with prior subject-​matter sessions (5 altogether over the last several years, including Child Care, Child Care-​Spanish, Group Homes, and Senior Care).
With our education team «CPS Consultants», they worked with the recording team at KVIE and we managed to finish the actual recording process this past week of November 16 – 17. Now we are engaged in the off-​site editing process to fine-​tune the eLearning module portions.
