I was just here last month so unless it has closed since then I don’t think this is right. Jimboys is my guilty pleasure when I return to visit Sacramento. I love their greasy tacos with parm cheese sprinkled all over as well as their bean and cheese burritos which are fried up deliciously. The old school décor makes me happy since it has been the same ever since I can remember. if you don’t love jimboys, you just don’t get it.

If i could give this place NO stars i would! Worst Jimboys in Sac! Ordered beef tacos & all of them had barely any meat/cheese and they were filled with lettuce! the bean burritos were all tortilla hardly any beans and no cheese! I will never ever ever go here again i will stick with my stockton blv and Franklin loc even if i have to drive further! Inside smelled like a bathroom, dirty walls and was extremely ancient looking! I can imagine the kitchen! yuck! Need i say more Done !! Would not recommend and would never come here again!

Decent Jimboys location in a less than decent neighborhood. From Watt turn left on Folsom and follow the train tracks past McDonalds. This location is a little further down on the left. See what I mean? I ordered my typical Bean and Cheese Burrito and it came out just as good as it normally does. Isn’t that all I could ask for? They even gave me a taco sauce packet and napkins without asking. Yay! I was stoked to see that this location had a drive thru(the location on Arden does not) but either the drive thru was super slow, or the person two cars ahead of me ordered half the menu. Either way, the drive thru wasn’t the fastest option but it was the most convenient. I would come back to this Jimboys location again because they have a drive thru and it’s super close to my work. Pro tip: A Bean and Cheese Burrito is the best hangover helper.

I am not a big fan of Jimboy’s Tacos. Either they sell you low grade food that reminds me of Del Taco or they sell you something that is way overpriced. I find it better to just go to one of my many favorite local mom and pop taquerias. I recently was dragged there while kicking and screaming by my girl friend’s father who happens to be quite fond of Jimboy’s Tacos. I ordered a shredded beef taco salad that was overpriced as usual. It has been less than a week and the memory of this salad has dissolved quite quickly. Actually, it dissolved practically before I even finished it. Yes, I am sure I finished it because I finish everything.

I haven’t eaten at a Jimboy’s in several years, but I do remember just how much I used to love their tacos! Those were the days when I could eat 3 or 4 of them in one sitting. So greasy and cheesy, but so delicious! Those carefree days are over… Joe K and I have avoided fast food restaurants whenever possible in order to cut back on fat and calories, not to mention saving money. But recently, my dad wanted to treat us for lunch here. I was uncertain that at my age, I would be able to handle greasy tacos any more. But to my relief, they have a lot of other choices on the menu that I could easily digest and not feel too guilty about the increased fat intake. My dad recommended the taco salad in which you can have beef or chicken. I chose a vegetarian and found it to be satisfactory enough to eat. The salad was just OK, but I have had much better at Wendy’s and La Favorita. I guess if your offered a free meal, Jimboy’s will work during an indecisive crunch.

«Hi. I’ll have, um, a bean burrito, and that’s it. Wait, no, I want that super quesadilla thing, but with beans instead of meat. And that’s it. Oh my gosh. Wait. No. I hate my friends. Sorry. A flauta. Two flautas. And two of the mini parmesan quesadillas. And a water. And if that’s not it, I’m about to cut someone.» The window is opened by the Mexican version of Slim Shady. I’m serious. It’s pretty much worth driving out to this Jimboy’s just to see that, if nothing else. «Hey ladies, how are you?» «Great, how are you?» «Oh, I’m okay, just a little irritated because my car is in the shop because I crashed it.» «Were you drinking?» He smirks. «Don’t lie sir. Don’t lie.»(Best Anjelah Johnson impression I could do.) We pay, and he hands us a small bag of food, and assures us that it’s all there. We show him that it’s not, and he starts to walk back towards the kitchen, «Hey motherf***** what’s wrong with you? Where’s that bean burrito?» «Sorry about that, ladies. Whatcha’ll doin’ later tonight?» I put on my best cheerleader face and say, «We’re going to an AA meeting! Wanna come?» (He was greatly confused by this.) (I crack myself up.) (Do I even need parenthesis?) OH. The food. Do you want to know about the food? Close your eyes. Picture Mexican food. Now put whatever you’re imagining into a deep fryer, and then when it comes out, plaster it in Parmesan cheese. That’s Jimboy’s. There was literally dirt in the water, but we were all pretty thirsty, so we went with the, «God made dirt, dirt don’t hurt!» philosophy.

Prices are too high for tacos with barely any meat inside. If I wanted to spend $ 3 per taco, I would go to a restaurant, not a fast food joint. Tacos tasted okay… if you mostly like lettuce tacos.

Don’t bother eating in. It’s super old and because of that it makes it feel dirty. We went on 99 cent Tuesday’s. Surprisinly these beef tacos were good. The taco shell is crispy but soft. It also has some type of parmesan cheese on the outside of the taco. I odered the Super Burrito with carne asada. You know when you go to a taqueria the super burrito is the size of a small baby. This is not the case at Jimboys. I won’t be ordering that again. We also ordered a chicken taco salad. This was surprisingly good. The taco shell was nice and crispy. The shredded chicken also good. If you go inside they have a small salsa bar. They have 3 salsas, onions, and jalapenos. Note to self … Next time just get the tacos.

The food was ok just really greasy. What killed me though was the smell. Walking in the door the first smell you’re greeted with was the smell of urine. Awesome. Then as we sat down and waited for our food, I was overpowered with this pungent odor that was just too much to deal with. Fact is, this place is dirty. I’m willing to bet the food care and handling matches the condition of their restaurant. If you’re too busy to clean you’re too busy to care.

First time trying Jimboy’s. Had a combo with a taco and platter and as I was driving away, I realized they never asked me if I wanted a hard or softshell taco. Well when I got home and ate it — I discovered it was BOTH! Delish! Tasty for fast food joint.

WOW, I really like Jimboys chicken tacos, but this location has been steadily going down hill. My husband just came home with 3 beef tacos, and they were soooo greasy that the greasy actually soaked through the box and the bag, 2 chicken tacos for me with about a table spoon of tasteless chicken on a soggy taco shell. This is the most convenient location for us, but it will be a cold day in hell before we go back. Worst Jimboys ever!!!

Okay Jimboys, you’ve had your chance. First time I visited I ordered Mexican food and it was mediocre. Today I tried your American food and it was absolute crap! The hamburger patty was flavorless. There was this mustardy-mayo concoction that was sloppily splattered about on one side and wrapped haphazardly so the food was sliding out of the wrapper. Then I thought the fries would redeem you: Wrong! Although they were hot and tender, I think the cook dropped the entire canister of season salt on them. The fries were literally orange from the seasoning. The grease and seasoning had bled thru the paper wrapper immediately. I’m not impressed. If I ever return, it will be to get a soft drink only.

The food was good! It’s the restaurant inside that needs a huge cleaning and overhaul. Plastic chairs and filthy old booths and walls, gross which makes you know the kitchen is filthy too. We won’t be dining in this Jimboys again.

Definitely has run down SITREP Tacos! Around corner from around where I live! You’d think I would be happy. But the quality has really gone down hill. THELOWDOWN For inexpensive, close to home, still a debatable option for«hole-in-the-wall» style like the family used to make.

What do I miss most about Sac? Leatherbys. Ok what is the other thing I miss most? Jimboys tacos. Seriously people rave about taco places in LA but none of them measure up. Because none of them coat their shells in cheese. What is that? It’s the taste of awesome! Their quesadillas are also delicious and amazing. It is not cheddar cheese. It is white and wrapped like a flat burrito. And if you don’t feel like a taco then get an enchilada combo plate. They are pretty good for fast food. But seriously get a freaking taco!
