It’s not great, and also expensive for what you get. I love hot pot. Hot pot is the food you eat with your family, to get warm and to stuff yourself. So to be honest, this place was quite a disappointment. It was quite busy the night I went, but we got a table in 10 minutes or so. The hostess was very sweet. Our server seemed either in a bad mood or tired, and was a bit curt. However, she was quite attentive, so she and the hostess are the reasons this review is a two star, not one. We ordered the Kobe beef sashimi and the spicy tonkotsu and miso broths with pork and Kobe beef. The sashimi wasn’t great. I already have a big issue with places that call their stuff«Kobe beef» when Kobe doesn’t export their meat. But alright, they meant«wagyu-style,» which is fair. In general, raw beef dishes like sashimi beef and steak tartare are so you can taste the quality of the meat, and let it(if it’s actual high quality wagyu style beef) melt in your mouth. This stuff was covered in sauce. However the sashimi was the only good part of the meal – the other meat had a strange bitter aftertaste, and the sauce choices were wanting. The soups weren’t great, and the vegetables few. Honestly I don’t see myself coming back here.

We tried spicy miso and spicy tonkotsu both were good. They give you lots of veggies which we liked.

I’ve never had shabu shabu at a restaurant before coming here. I’ve had it once with family before and it was more chinese style hot pot than shabu shabu. Parking: You either park in the street along 18th street or Broadway. You can also park in the back, but the parking in the back is pretty limited. The first time the husband and I came, we came with a huge group of 15 people for a birthday. The restaurant is small and we came at 6 pm on a Saturday. Long story short, you should not invite 15 people to a 30 seater restaurant to go eat at a place that shares pots with friends who do not know each other. It makes for a bad experience, even though the food is good! Don’t do this to your friends! We decided to go back. This time, with a smaller group of 4. We came in at 5 pm on a Thursday night. Happy hour was in place, so we got 10% off our bill. Draft beers are only $ 4! $ 3.60 with the discount. I had me a happy hubby, haha. For the 4 of us, we were sat at a 6 seater, 2 heater table. We decided on 4 broths — tonkatsu, miso, spicy miso and tom yum. It was a lot harder to share 4 broths with 4 people at this table because the heaters are set a bit apart from each other. We all ordered the all you can eat, but we were happy with one round of lamb and just wanted more beef and pork. Unfortunately, they only served us pork once, but kept the beef coming. I did notice that the pork they served was different than the first time, like we were getting cuts from the butt(shoulder) rather than belly cuts. They also gave us each our own bowl of veggies, which in retrospect, we should have only gotten two. We did not get our ice cream though, which was kinda disappointing, but that’s ok. I was pretty full. We really enjoyed our meal, so much so that we’ve been talking about it since, haha. I really hope to go back soon. Service: Service is pretty good. The 2nd time we went, it was a really quiet night, so they were very attentive. The first time we went when it was stupid busy, they were good enough to keep the meat coming and the water pitchers filled, but it was slacking towards the end. I cannot wait to go back. I really want to try their appetizers!

Ate their for my first time a week ago. Food was delicious. Price is reasonable. I have no complaints about this place. Service is great as well. The wait could be a bit if it’s a full house. So not a place to eat at if you are in a rush. But it’s worth the experience.

Reserved a table for 6 at 8:30 on Thursday night. Place was quiet — didn’t need a reservation. We ordered: 3 large plates of Kobe beef was sliced nicely thin so it cooked fast. Make sure not to leave it in the soup too long or it’ll get tough. Meat was good! Will try the wagyu on my next trip Complimentary vegetables: I really liked the enoki mushrooms! All the other veggies were ok. Complimentary rice and noodles: I didn’t want to fill up on rice but the noodles were good. I tried to order more but they were out. Tom yum — was spicy and delicious! Spicy tonkotsu is pretty good. The server was awkward so I have to take away a star.

My first experience eating Shabu and really enjoyed it. This place has friendly staff and prices are very reasonable. Great place for a large or small group or even a date. The food was fresh and very delicious. NO guilt eating with the large amount of veggies served! I can’t wait to go back and have more Shabu and Sake! My only recommendation is get there early or you will have a wait. By the time we left dinner around 6:30PM the place had a line and was packed!

This place is clean and elegant; a comfortable environment to sit down and have dinner with friends. The table was a bit small though. A family of 4 on one square table was messy once the foods starting coming out. The meats and vegetables were fresh and well washed, and rice was cooked just right(not too mushy, not too hard). Servers was a nice young girl who checked on us constantly and made sure we were loaded with food. She was smiley and provided quick service. This place can get really packed. If you don’t have reservations, expect to wait up to an hour. I recommend going with a group of 6 or more and making reservations.

My friend and I came here on a random Thursday evening. Before 6:30 pm it was quite busy but after 7 it kind of quieted down. The place is a square and offers a good amount of tables and bar seating. Since it was the two of us we opted for bar seating. They offer packages that ranges from 20 – 30. 20 for a regular meal which is what we got. My friend got the lamb and I got the kobe beef. The pot is cut down the middle so for two people you can choose different broths. It was also nice in the fact that my friend doesn’t eat beef and I wanted the beef. Included in your meal is noodles, veggies, tofu, mushrooms, and a bowl of rice. If you want extras like fish balls it’ll cost extra. At the end, you get green tea ice cream! Overall, the experience was really nice and everything was very streamline. Parking on the street the place is located is a bit tough but there are plenty of side streets with ample parking.

Unsuspecting AYCE shabu spot on our drive to Tahoe. Decently-sized spot with sports playing on TV. Seems like a cool spot to drink with your meal, if that’s what you’re feeling. Very weird table set-up — there are tables for 3, many tables for 6 – 8, etc. When we walked in, there were groups of 3 at the tables for 6, etc. due to the inefficient set-up. Food-wise, all the meats were really good quality. My favorite broth was the spicy tonkotsu. BTW, no udon noodles — ramen noodles instead which are just as good.

Came here on a Sunday night an hour before closing and this place was literally packed! There were no tables available so we decided to sit at the bar instead. We were greeted by the owner, Anthony, who is incredibly friendly and very social! He checked up on us a few times throughout our meal and made sure we were well taken care of! Instead of opting for all you can eat we decided to order a large portion of their Wagyu beef($ 36) as well as their large American Kobe beef($ 20). For our broths we chose spicy miso and regular miso and every hot pot order comes with individual sides of veggies(mushrooms, Napa cabbage, tofu, spinach, and carrots) and ramen noodles. There’s even a vegetarian option for only $ 14! There are two sauces provided for dipping: a peanut based miso and a sweet soy sauce. We preferred the sweet soy sauce and added minced ginger that had been soaking in vinegar and green onions to it – so delicious and downplayed the sauces overall sweetness. The meat was delicious and extremely fresh! I preferred the American Kobe since leaner than the Wagyu beef. I also thought it had more taste after cooking in the broth. The spicy miso had a nice kick to it and the regular miso was also delicious! This is, without a doubt, my GOTO when it comes to hot pot! Everything is always fresh, food comes out fast, service is always great, and we always leave stuffed! Overall, a great experience and ill definitely be back soon!

Granted this is the only Shabu Shabu place I have been to in Sacramento, I got to say that the option of having two broths instead of just one is great. In terms of volume, there could be a bit more but it’s alright overall. The food here is good; I would come back. The only gripe I have with this place is that the wait staff is a bit oblivious to the customers’ needs at times; for example, we needed our waters refilled for a while and no staff took care of that despite passing our table many times.

I used to come here pretty often but it is quite pricey so we only come here for special events. This place is fondue(hotpot) and it is real good. It’s a small place and it’s a popular place, especially during the winter. Pros: great selection of meats, my favorite is the imported wagyu. They offer all you can eat, all you can eat and drink or a la carte. The best bang for your buck is all you can eat(I don’t drink so the other wouldn’t work for me). I also love their noodles, one of my favorite things to order when I’m here. For all you can eat, you get unlimited lamb, pork, beef, and vegetables that come with the noodles and tofu. Sadly it doesn’t include the wagyu. Their soup bases are very flavorful and I love adding the blended garlic into the soups. Cons: parking is limited and the wait for a table is normally 45 – 60 minutes unless you make reservations. Also for your party, if one person does all you can eat, everyone has to choose the same. They don’t split checks and take up to 3 credit cards max. So having cash is the way to go. Our bill for 15 people, all you can eat plus a few people ordered soda and mixed drinks came to almost $ 700. All you can eat is $ 31.99 per person. Also any group bigger than 6 has gratuity of 18% added to your bill automatically. I definitely recommend people to try this place but be ready for a wait(unless you made reservations) and bring cash. It’s a great at, peppered and the owner Anthony is very friendly and always there to talk to his customers. The place is real clean and the service is great. They are always checking up on you.

Shabu: fondue hot pot is easy way to explain. Add your noodles, veggies, and meat to the hot pot and then grab it out and eat. Place is clean and everything is up to date.

This Heat Shabu is not too shabby! ;) Came here for a birthday dining and we opted for the all-you-can-eat option. There was a variety of food selections, but not as many as I expected! Our food option came with unlimited lamb & beef meat along with veggies, mushrooms & ramen. The miso broth was very flavorful and tasty. Really liked the fact that the broth isn’t oily like other homemade broth I experienced. Some of our party also opted for the all-you-can-drink for $ 10 extra per person. At the end of our meal, we were served yummy Gunther’s green tea ice cream! The food was very fulfilling and I satisfied with both the food and service! This restaurant is super small with a seating capacity of less than 50, I believe. Street parking is available but hard to find! Surroundings are not well lighted so be careful at night!

What can I not love about this place? Fun setting with delicious food! The owner gets DOWWWN with you and drinks with his customers, he makes the ambiance very lively and inviting. Service is great with constant refills. Food is divine. I absolutely love their broth and Kobe beef is delicious. Do the all you can eat. its worth it. Favorite Japanese shabu ever.

Yasssss. I went here one cold night after winter wonderland and I must say it was everything. The broth was delicious I had tom yum and I think it was tonkatsu it was the white soup. The broths were on point! We had ordered their Kobe beef, Kobe sashami, shrimp, I really liked the beef compared to other places even in LA! Bc it was very soft. My bf really enjoyed the Kobe sashami, The atmosphere was really chill and décor was very romantic and our server was wonderful, very attentive to our needs, definitely will be coming back!

I tried their AYCE. The food was OK. However, the service had a lot of room for improvement. I went there at 4:40pm after a sightseeing day in Sacramento. My wife and I ordered the ayce. The meat slices were cut very thin and each plate had only a few slices. I thought that was not a problem because I could order a few rounds. When I ordered the 3rd round, I heard that the waitress said«They want to order again?». After that two other people came out to confirm our order. There were two hours limit of the ayce. At around 5:35(55 minutes only), they put the check and put icecream on our table even if I was still putting meat into my mouth. Around $ 32 per person, I think that I should get better service.

Probably the best shabu place for Davis students in the Sacramento area. The inside is really clean and ambiance is cool/fun. If you come for dinner, expect a wait sometimes! The parking can be tricky too. The tom yum and tonkotsu soups are really good and the meat quality is pretty high too. I don’t usually drink the soup, but all my friends drink it until there’s not much left! We usually get the kobe beef, so you can’t go wrong with that. You get a spread of veggies and sauces. You can also get noodles or rice. They have a good amount of add ons, so you can just keep ordering and ordering. The drink names have sexual innuendos so it’s funny to read and order. Service has always been great here. It’s a really fun place to go after midterms or to celebrate with friends — highly recommend!

I haven’t felt so satisfied with a meal in a long time! We had the spicy miso and spicy tonkotsu for our broth. When I had the broths by themselves, they were pretty spicy! The kobe beef melts in your mouth. I could’ve eaten platters and platters of it. Fresh vegetables and ramen noodles were also included. There was spinach, cabbage, shiitake mushrooms, enoki mushrooms, tofu, and carrots. My friend especially liked the shiitake mushrooms and kept asking for more. Sesame and ponzu sauce were provided as well as minced garlic and chives for added flavor. Even if you don’t come here for shabu-shabu, the salt n’ pepper wings are a MUST! We got two plates of them. Even when I was full, I couldn’t stop from having another one. I’m salivating just thinking of them. The complimentary green tea ice cream was a great way to end the meal. Service was excellent! Our waitress continuously checked in with us and catered to our needs. Anthony the owner is really personable and makes sure guests are having a great time. Whatever soju concoction he made was always well received and quickly finished. The place isn’t big, so make reservations because this is one popular place– as it should be!

Good date place! It’s expensive, so it’s only a once-in-a-while thing for me. The interior is sleek and they have a bar inside. The main thing served here is Japanese hotpot, called Shabu Shabu. They serve it by sending out a pot, split in half if you’d like two different broths, and then they boil it on the table for you. You select your meats(or vegetarian if you’d like… blech) and pay based on the items you select. I opted for the seafood and american kobe. This was more than enough for the boyfriend and I. I wish they’d serve more of the noodles, because the amount they offer is really… measly. We also asked for more of the enoki mushrooms. The spicy miso and spicy tonkatsu were sooo good, I’d highly recommend. Also, the meat that they serve is QUALITY. I have no doubt in my mind that they’re choosing the best for their customers. Service is good, and the owner dude(viet guy with the jade pendant on his neck) was really nice too.
