Hairplay Salon and Spa

Very cute salon without the busy midtown parking. Jerry is super nice, knowledgable, and his prices are really reasonable. He took the time to go over the steps I need to take in order to get my hair healthy again. I’m so happy I finally found a hairdresser that cares about the health of my hair. Excited to come back and get highlights next month! :)

So my Fiancé reviewed this place already and I had come once or twice before. First time around I had a cut to trim off the very dead ends. 2^nd time around was for a coloring to go dark. Now this time around it was time for a very much needed hack and slash of my hair.
I have a perpetual habit of growing my hair out long and then a radical short cut. Much to the chagrin of my fiancé I picked a significantly short hair cut today. It has been 6 years or more since I had last chopped it all off.
As usual I walk in and am immediately greeted and see my stylist finishing up with another client. He extends his client the same amiable, positive energy and service that he always gives me and my fiancé. I love him! He always accommodates his clientele. Never pushy as to what he thinks or believes, however he ensures you are fully informed of what he is doing. He cuts hair very well. Trust me, although I forgive screw ups, I don’t go back if it happens. Hence my avoidance of supercuts.
He finishes on time, his time estimates are really good. He knows his products extremely well. He donates hair to an organization that donates to children as well. Hairplay salon also has this deep moisturizing lip gloss as well. I could tell as soon as I put it on, it lightly tingled my very dry lips. Better yet, it’s vegan as well! Like I said my stylist is excellent at his job! A definite 5 star fellow! My stylist is Jerry. He treats you right!

My hairstylist Adrian just recently moved to Hair Play. My first impression was a good one, the salon was clean, very inviting and comfortable. I’ve been to a few local salons that feel so uptight and unwelcoming. This was not the case here the staff was friendly. I arrived with pictures of ideas of what I wanted. Adrian gave me honest feedback about the color and style I chose based her experience from having previously colored my hair and she made a different suggestion and giving me the rational of why what I chose was not good for my hair type, having never let me down before I trusted her judgement and I am thankful I did. I absolutely love the way my hair turned out and I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the colors she chose. I am very happy the way the cut has grown out and by using her tip of washing and rinsing hair in cool water the color has lasted weeks longer than before. Which is great because NOBODY wants to see all my grays :), Adrian does a great job placing highlights to help hide those darn pesky gray hairs. That seem to keep popping up. I have very thin fine hair and Jerry, who I think is the owner had some good tips for me. I really enjoyed my first experience in this salon and will be back very soon. I will also tell anybody looking for a salon to try Hair Play. It was so nice to be in Salon that doesn’t feel snobby and pretentious. I am not much of a review writer, but I felt this was necessary since this was such a great experience! Keep up the great work guys!

Best salon ever!!! It was very clean and a comfortable environment. Adrian is amazing she is professional, patient and friendly. I have really thin hair and was looking for a cut that would make my hair look and feel fuller she suggested that we put a few layers in the back and it turned out amazing!!! I absolutely love it. She also suggested a few products that would help my hair stay healthy as I blow dry it daily. It has been a few weeks since my hair cut and I still absolutely love it and I have received so many compliments:) I am not one to write reviews but I felt that I had to give Adrian a big shot out for a great hair cut. I would definitely recommend her and this salon!!!

Scheduling is a breeze and the prices are reasonable. I showed up to him after going to the same hairstylist for a decade. I realized that my style changed as I got older and I didn’t want an outdated hair style. Jerry was able to figure out how my hair was and how to best style it. He used high quality products for the shampoo, conditioner, and gel. He mixes up the product based on the current condition of my hair that day. He understood my needs that I didn’t like dandruff falling on my shoulders and recommended moving away from alcohol based gels.
I particularly like his ability to know that the clients just want to chat but nothing too deep and to have a positive feeling after leaving. His nice cool temperature place is also comfortable. Give him and his stylists a try!

A couple days ago I had a crazy idea to cut my own hair and basically butchered it. Today I went in and Casey fixed everything!!! Even though my hair was a mess she was able to save the length of my hair and give me awesome layers!!! I love my haircut! Plus she was so nice to talk to and didn’t make me feel stupid for my attempt! Thank you Casey! — Mihwa Thick (just using my Father in laws account)

I have got my haircut at multiple different places and I can say hands down this has been the best. I always get my haircut by Jerry the owner and he does such a good job. He not only cut my hair but he showed me how to style it and different types of way I style my hair. Jerry is really good at what he does, also the rest of the staff is nice. The prices here are a little pricey but I would say you definitely get what you pay for.

Been here twice, had Jerry cut my hair and answer all my questions with honest, no bullshit answers and advice. Love my haircut and so did the lady I met later. I’ll recommend to a friend and I’m a regular, now.

Jerry isn’t just a stylist, or the owner of Hairplay… he’s like a doctor for your hair! I know that sounds crazy, but it’s true! He takes his time and really gets to know your hair. Then he makes recommendations just for you (not because all products fit all like at other salons.) He is magic with the color and just as talented at cuts. My hair is very fine, thin and straight and he knew just what to do to make it look the best it has looked in years. I will definitely be back! Great value, booked my appointment for next day, clean, polite, great location, quality products… I can’t say enough wonderful things about Hairplay.

This place is beyond amazing! I got an amazing facial, & got my hair cut & colored.
My skin feels so clean & my hair looks so pretty & so healthy now! I got TONS of free samples! These arent even samples, these are FULL size products! The staff here is excellent, too. I would recommend it to everybody.

Totally love Jerry!!! He keeps my boyfriends hair looking nice and neat, always recommends awesome new product and tries hard to accommodate your schedule. Plus he is always friend and works hard to make sure you leave happy with your look!

Best wax ever! I know a lot of guys want to wax but may be afraid. Getting waxed by a guy makes it so much easier. Jerry is confident, quick, all business and his place is clean. Made me feel very comfortable. I also got guy facials from Paige. She knows so much about skin and really helped my friend with his acne. Great Spa!

My hair looked amazing, it was he perfect cut:) just what I wanted. Leann was fantastic!
