Nice produce… that’s about all I the positive things your gonna read in this review. First of all this is a really bad neighborhood. It’s buy our gym so we went ahead an stopped in for a little shopping. So many items were way over priced. Progresso soup. 1.50 at Walmart and food maxx. 2.50 here. Meat over priced. Lemon pepper 5 bucks! An don’t even get me started on the 10 cent bags. I could go on an on naming high priced items. But I will spare you the agony. …

Came here last night, if ur from this area u know is not the safest place to be at night but they have security. Most of the time security is alert unless the security is friends with the neighborhood dope man. Trust me u could tell when they are friends cuz the security guard will be saggin his pants and have his back to the wall while the dope man pushes right in front of him, but thats a different story. This place is ok they have a little of everything some stuff is expensive some stuff is pretty affordable specially the produce i think they always have the best price on produce. The store is well kept the meat department could use some help. For some reason the meat dept always looks sad to me here its always laggin something or maybe just cuz they have a section where they have old meat that looks like its going bad in two days. Dont get me wrong not all that meat looks like that just a small portion. I’ll come back here tho its close to my house and its always like a last resort or if im short on something i’ll come by here thats if i couldnt find it at costco or grocery outlet down the street. Just be careful once a guy tried to jack me for my phone, hence i said«tried» ;) poor guy didnt know what tree he was barking at lol my best advice is come during the morning or when the sun is still out. Check em out but avoid this place on the first week and a half of the beginning of the month because the lines are massive!!!

So here at food source today, and I must admit I really like this store and hate that I don’t live closer to one. I used to shop here a lot, but now I don’t get too. I like that Food Source prices are reasonable and they always have sales on a lot of my favorite items like their chips and the 24 – 35 packs of water are always cheaper here. I make special trips just to get the water here. I came today to get cupcakes for my daughter s birthday, cupcakes are the new cakes now. So I’m told… And like I expected they had the ones I wanted and it was 12 in the pack for only $ 5.99. So I was happy with that, because everywhere else I looked they had only ones with Halloween designs on them. They have added a pharmacy here now since the Raleys further up Mack Rd has closed. They brought the pharmacy from that store to this one. And I never knew that this store was owned by Raleys. I was talking with the cashier as she was ringing me up she shared that information with me. Interesting! The store has changed a lot, they are making new changes in here and it looks good. The only thing that gets me here is that they always have lines in here. Never enough registers opened at one time. But the shelves are always stocked and the staff is pretty cool. Their cashiers are really nice and most of them have been here for a long time. Thats says a lot for the company. I like this store and hate I don’t get to shop here as much as I like. I don’t care to much for some of the people that hang out around the store. This store is always busy, but it seems like it is just as busy outside as it is inside. You have to be watchful over here, because its all kinds of people hanging out around the store and in the parking lot. People saleing perfumes and DVDs and different items. Its not the store its just the neighborhood.

This store has gotten worse and worse. Yesterday I stopped by to pick up some oranges and grapes. Simple enough. As I walked toward the store from the parking lot, the building read, «Raley’s Pharmacy: coming soon». I thought to myself, «awesome, maybe the store is doing better»… WISHFULTHINKING. I walked in and the store is under construction so things are already out of sorts. The first thing I saw were grapes! How lucky…(sarcasm) There were fruit flies everywhere and they were not refrigerated. I continued on thinking I’d find at least a decent bag of oranges. I turn the corner and there were the refrigerated grapes. They looked much fresher than the ones near the front door. I grabbed the best looking grapes and made my way toward the other produce. I found the bags of oranges and grabbed what I thought looked like the best ones. I’m standing in line at the register and the couple in front of us were getting ready to swipe their atm card. The machine wasn’t working with their card so they said they would run to the bank and be right back. Seems reasonable. No, the cashier rolled her eyes REALHARD and walked away without notifying anyone else in the 10-person-long-line what was going on. She came back picked up their items and slammed them on the cash area behind her. Huffing and puffing along the way. She walked away again, still with no interaction. Horrible customer service. When she rang me up I gave her an over-exaggerated smile and«HAVE A GREATDAY». #killemwithkindness This morning(now the next day) my oranges were rotten and now I’m afraid to eat my grapes. I guess I could have went to a better store for produce, so I’ll take my losses as they come. I just wasn’t expecting it to be THAT bad. Will never come to this place. Not a place to shop when you have family. No value packages. No large sizes. No lemonade n no waters in big packs

I absolutely hate this store I live around the corner so it should be convenient but its not their is always a long line I say a long line because they usually only have one checker but they always have about 7 security guards and they rearrange the store every week so you can never find anything and to top it off I had to give it one star to leave a review because you can’t leave a zero star review

This is not a regular supermarket of mine; when I stop at this location it’s always a last minute, convenient on my route, 1 – 2 item drive-by… it’s not in the best part of town; therefore you will see the good, bad, ghetto ugly. The parking lot is filled with loud music coming from vehicles, pan handlers, weed smell and the Mack Road dread heads… proceed with caution…

After spending a fortune at local grocers like Raleys, Target, Sam’s club, Costco and Save mart witch tend to be ridiculously over priced, I did come to Food Co and in so far, Ive been very happy and pleased to find out that their food and produce is better than I ever expected. I can come here and do a considerable amount of grocery shopping and still remain within the boundaries of my budget. The meat is even pretty good. I was pleasantly surprise how fresh and tender a roast had been that I recently purchased here. About the only negative aspect of this establishment is self bagging, and the occasional derelicts who loiter in the parking lot. If you have not build up a natural resistance twords this type, then you probably should consider doing so, to become a frequent consumer here. I like shopping here. It doesn’t break the bank and the food, meat and produce are exceptable.

I’ve only come here a few times and it’s not that bad. Ok, it’s not in a good neighborhood, but it’s also not in the most scary part of town either. It’s close by Kaiser South Sac, and the last time I came here it was with my mom and my little one and we didn’t feel unsafe or anything, but it was also daytime and I would not recommend coming here to shop at night. The produce section is actually excellent. I think it’s b/c Food Source is owned by Raley’s/Bel-Air which always has good produce( ). Anyhow, we came in to buy avocadoes and they were so fresh, and in excellent shape and only 3 for $ 1 and they were big for that price! We also saw these gigantic pineapples for only $ 1.99 and they looked fresh too. Not all their produce are super good quality but I would say most are and the sale prices are very good. We skipped the meats, they don’t look bad, but I guess my mom didn’t think they were a good deal. Overall, if you’re shopping their ad sales items, then you would find good deals. Just go in, get what you need and leave, no problem. Their cashiers are friendly but the parking lot is old, crumbling/falling apart, and be sure to wipe down your grocery cart before using it.

Over the years I lived in just about every part of Sacramento and am very knowledgeable about where to get certain foods and likes. Food Source has always been my go-to spot for Latin food, meats and certain fishes such as Catfish and his sister fish, Basa. But compared to Winco or Wal-Mart, this hood store is not the best when it comes to pricing, only convenient to it’s local residents. I’m sad to say, we went to Food Source over the weekend for our annual Fish Fry, the deli counter has been reduced to one counter and the fish/meat counter was replaced by rows and shelves of bread? Excuse me? As we began to complaint a worker quickly told us the majority of the butcher staff was let go due to budget cuts so they no longer had a fresh meat and fish counter. He was very polite and offered to go in the back and package the amount of Basa we needed. We appreciated his service but probably won’t be back often, unless I feel the need to dodge the CD/Movie man or Random men trying to wash my windows with news paper???

I mean what do you expect from a grocery store in the hood. The prices are definitely cheaper that some other«lighter» neighborhoods, but the produce selection is a little bit smaller. They have all the basics and they deli even has a little latin flava’s goin on. I work near here, so I just pick up some healthier snacks(like fruit or crackers). Can’t complain much about that. This is pretty much a self-service store, but who cares anyways right?

This store gives me the creeps, mostly because the homeless are always roaming the aisles. I try avoiding this store as much as I can. I only come here when running errands for my mom, refilling water and getting a few groceries. Besides that, the baked goods suck. Cookies are flavorless, the candy in the piñata section look overdue, and they never seem to have the snacks I want. By the registers, I saw this banana rack, hah that made my day.
