Firefighter’s Tropical Affair

This fundraising event Firefighters A Tropical Affair was their fourth one so far. They have many sponsors to make this event happen. Shriners hospital made it possible to have it held next to their own parking garage.
The best burn unit is right here at UCDMC in Sacramento
& Shriner’s Hospital in the entire world per the host speaking! Restaurants were the following: Burgess Brothers Burgers, Blue Prynt Restaurant, Cafeteria 15L, Chicago Fire Pizza, Davis Professional Firefighter’s Local 3494, Devere’s Irish Pub, Dos Coyotes, Ernesto’s, Huong Lan, Hook & Ladder, Limelight, Puppy’s Firehouse BBQ, Raleys, Sacto Firefighter’s Local 522, Trader Joes & Vallejo’s. The different items I tasted were tri tip sliders, mole, egg rolls, charcuterie, bean soup, chicken skewers, hot link sausages, pasta salad plus numerous other goodies. 13 different wineries & 13 different breweries were present. I almost neglected to say Farrell’s and Nothing Bundt Cakes were here to satisfy your sweet tooth! And that they surely did. By that time I had plenty of food to eat!!!
Mark S Allen from channel 31 appeared late to introduce the Polynesian dancers! The amazing Makamae Melia O’Polynesia dancers were here to perform all the way from Elk Grove! Lol! They were fun bc they also included audience participation! It was so hilarious to make these people dance! And one guy performed all alone!!! Quite entertaining!!!
Giggle & Riot Photobooth had two different backdrops. One booth had it where photo strips came out. The other had the huge parrots where I was scared at first but the worker encouraged me & said it was okay! My parrot was gentle but my HB’s was pecking him at his chest! He prolly was male and jelly!!! That worker would use your camera to take an animated pic of yourselves.
Mark S Allen also announced Foreverland — a Michael Jackson tribute band for their second set. They were fabulous and wonderful entertainers! A 14 piece band from SF that would have made Michael Jackson proud! They were so high energy and very strong entertainers! They were FanTabuLous!!!
OMG I had a rip roaring good time! Plus the weather truly cooperated. I think both my HB and I even felt a couple drops of rain tonight!!! We might even try to make it next year especially if they have the same band! Hope so! It’s definitely for a worthy cause!!! So when you see the firefighters out there in the streets with their boot give generously when you can because it’s for an awesome cause. Both the UCDMC Burn Institute & Shriner’s hospital for children will benefit!
