Fe Gallery has one of the more interesting Second Saturday shows in my opinion. Paintings and iron works out in the front gallery, wine and cheese in the middle, and a live iron-working demo in the back. You might see the forging hammer smashing things with a few tons each strike. They might chisel a key chain fob or some middle world figure from a white hot iron rod. You might see several layers of metals repeatedly folded and beaten into a sword blade. So, if you’re out on 2nd Sat — then head down Folsom Blvd towards the CSUS tunnel to Fe Gallery.

This art gallery is very popular with artists and art enthusiasts alike. It is owned by metallist Stephen Lyman who wanted to have a building devoted to the unique talents performed by metal smiths working with recycled and scrap iron. Local artisans present their work for viewing, demonstration, and for purchase. You can spend quality time here gazing at the displays and speaking to the artists. Exhibits are showing almost daily Mon-Sat. But this place isn’t strictly metals. You’ll find a wide range of artwork showing here from paintings & drawings in all media, glassware, and sculptures using everyday materials. Check their website or call for current and upcoming shows. They are also open especially during«Second Saturdays» with wine samples and appetizers available to enhance your art loving experience! (Parking is limited and can be hard to find when this place is busy!)
