Good food, clean and the staff is friendly would highly recommend! The carne Asada fries are the bomb. If you don’t like fries, the wet burrito will do the trick for sure!

I ordered the wet burrito on 4÷13÷13 and while watching the guy prepare the burrito i noticed that all he did was put sauce over it and some cheese, he didnt bake it or heat it up, so my burrito was cold and sitting in watery sauce(it wasnt thick enough). The burrito was very bland it didnt have much more flavor than a frozen burrito from the supermarket and about the same price as a burrito from the tasty baha fresh down the sreet.

Had a chimichanga. Red sauce bland. Beans bland. Chicken bland. Considering I paid $ 8 for the food you think someone would invest that money in some seasoning. Guess Ill just have to wait for family dinners to get good Mexican food.

This place doesn’t even try to do Tex Mex right. It’s disgusting. Do yourself a favor and go to Chipotle(Truxel and Gateway) and or Freebirds(Natomas and Del Paso). Or if you want better Mexican food, go to La Fiesta/El Burrito on Natomas and Del Paso

Yummy! Great food and service. I had the steak torta sandwich. New on the menu and recommended by owner, Saul. It was a huge sandwich for $ 5.99, very filling. My husband had the ‘Fat’ burrito and he usually can’t finish one but he ate the whole thing. Owner was very friendly and came to our table and asked us if everything was okay, even refilled our glass of water, and talked to us when the restaurant wasn’t busy with customers. This was my first time to eat inside the restaurant but I have bought/ordered ‘to go’ in the past. Clean restaurant, patio seating, great prices, free nachos w/order, and great service. Recommend!

Not great flavor but you get what you pay for… groupon was 20 $ for 10 $ and you really can’t beat that. They could definately at least grill their burrito wraps.

The atmosphere is decent, there is a lot of outside seating too. I ordered a regular nachos(see pic) and a bean and cheese burrito. The nachos were made with chips that were just OK, like those you’d get in a bag at a grocery store. There was some shredded cheese that looked like it had been melted over the chips in a microwave, and some salsa, but not nearly enough of both for all of the chips, so I ended up eating mostly dry chips. It was like something I’d make at home, only I would have used enough cheese to cover at least 75% of the chips. The bean and cheese burrito was really plain, like it was literally just beans and cheese, but I guess that’s about all you can do with beans and cheese. I wouldn’t ding them for that, but the nachos were pretty bad. My friend got a carne asada torta sandwich with sauce on it and he said it was great. Drinks: many of the flavors were«out of order»(unavailable) and they say they are switching to a new vendor, so this may improve. They serve you on regular plates(not paper or plastic), which is nice in a restaurant with waiters and busboys, but the garbage cans by the door imply that you are supposed to clear your own table. Therefore you are stuck carrying your plate to the trash, emptying the leftover food and napkins into that small hole(to prevent you from throwing the plate away), and stacking your plates and utensils above the trash can. It’s kind of gross and a lot of work, it would be a lot easier if they did it like other places, where you get your food on a nice plastic plate on a tray and when you’re done you just throw everything away. Minus one-half star for having a tip jar and one half-star for having to clean up the plates. Maybe now is the time for me to go on my rant about tip jars(this is not just about Fat Burrito, it’s about every place with a tip jar). You’re not waiting on me! You’re taking my order! Why should I tip someone for taking my order? They haven’t even made my food yet! In a real restaurant with real service that deserves a tip, you tip after you’ve received the service and want to give them a big thanks(or not). Here, you’re expected to tip even before you’ve received your food! A tip before you’ve received the service isn’t a tip, it’s a bribe! Imagine if I’d given a big fat tip and then received those nachos? This review would sound very different, believe me. Now, tip jars are becoming an accepted thing and I don’t blame Fat Burrito for jumping on that bandwagon. But I really hate tip jars. The staff was very friendly and I think they are trying hard. Tip for the staff and especially management: Go eat at Rubios and Chipotle, see what they are doing different, and do it like them, not like you are doing it now. Use throw-away plates like them and make your nachos like them. Everyone else: Don’t get the nachos, but do get the carne asada torta, it’s great according to my friend Jim.

This place is awful. We were on the fence as to whether we should believe the good or bad reviews because they are so mixed, well we wish we would have believed the bad reviews because they are on point. Food not fresh, service was terrible and slooooooow, and each of our three plates were made incorrectly in some way. If you are like us and are not sure whether to believe the good or bad reviews I suggest you go with the bad!

Tried this spot yesterday(6÷5÷13) before my meeting around 5:30pm and I thought it was just fine(as far as the food went, which is what I am concerned about principally). Fat Burrito is sort of hidden(I think you’d miss it unless you came in on the side of town center drive vs. e. commerce way) but well worth the stop if you want some good mexi food. As for the customer service, there are some slight adjustments that could be made. For example, please don’t joke around when you’re helping a customer. It’s good practice to smile and try and engage the person on the other side of the register until they’ve paid and comfortably seated themselves(believe me, by the end of business day the last thing I have time for is people who aren’t paying attention to my order and could potentially mess it up). On the flip side, when I was seated and eating one of the employees did come up and ask me how everything was and if I needed anything(this was a major plus for me b/c lets be honest this is not a sit down place where a server waits on you. if you want that then get yourself down the street to 524 or something). As for my order, I got one of the $ 7.50 specials with 2 carnitas tacos(and the accompanied beans/rice). Everything was great, tacos jam packed with pork, lettuce, tomato — absolutely nothing wrong with the presentation. Speed of service: definitely give it a 5 star. There were two families in the restaurant as well and I got my food within 7 minutes. Cleanliness: restaurant was perfectly clean and their staff was quick to clear out my plate and clean my area as soon as I got up. I would definitely come back to this spot for a quick, inexpensive, delicious bite to eat. Thanks for having me! :)

How this place doesn’t have 5 stars is beyond me. The service is always fantastic. The restaurant is always clean. The food is great and fresh. My husband and I have been coming here for over a year and it has been consistantly great.

I’ve ate here a few Times and wasn’t pleased. The food is bland in flavor and low in seasononing. Everytime I receive the fo od it was never hot, not even warm. I don’t understand why. The fat burrito is stuffed with rice and about enough meat to put in your eye. Both times I’ve gotten The Runs. Customer service well there is none. I get no kind of greeting, no High, Hello, How can I help you. They just stare me down. While I look at the menu. I had to say hello first both times before anything was said to me. This place I would not recommend.

This is in response to «Jose» who responded to my review… Dude: it’s too late to make your food taste better and better! You were supposed to have that figured out before you opened a restaurant. Do you think this is charity? No one owes you success. I’ve been making salsa for friends for about 10 years — they beg me to sell it, they lift up the bowl and drink it dry. That’s called having a recipe. When you get about twenty of them, you cater for a few years. If enough people rave about your food, you open a restaurant on the back of that success. Good luck!

Bad service, no greeting. The food was not fresh. The employees didn’t wash their hands prior to prepping my food. The utensils used to prepare my burrito were visibly dirty and evidence of cross contamination existed. Sadly this place has gone downhill. I guess there was ownership change, it used to be a family business. It cost $ 7 for a bean and veggie burrito, not including a drink. This is ridiculous. I’ll just go to Baja Fresh next time, at least the food is fresh and hot there(not sitting in cold steam-like tables). Don’t bother… might want to contact health department.

Man this place sure does get a lot of hate. I wouldn’t call it a five star restaurant by any means but all these 1 star reviews are unjust. The food is a solid B and so is the service. I’ve never seen any men working here either, it’s always a woman when I go in. Just saying… I’m upgrading to five stars because of a fabulous recent visit.

I went in here following a buddie’s foursquare check in to see for myself if it was any good. The location is okay and the place is pretty clean. The service was really friendly. However, I’d have to say the food was just okay. I ordered a Fat Burrito with chile verde and the flavor profile was just off. It’s not your traditional Mexican flavor profile that you might get at El Burrito in the Raley’s mini mall nor is it the crisp clean flavor that you might get in a Chipotle. It’s somewhere muddied in the middle. I think it might have something to do with the traditional rice/meat mixed with some types veggies/cheese that aren’t pairing well. The 10 Second Takeaway: +Everything but the burrito –the burrito

Fat Burrito is better than some of the folks reviewing make it out to be. It’s even vegetarian friendly if you know what to order. Their salsa’s are unique, spicy and quite good. Service was outstanding and they really went out of their way to accommodate my vegan dietary requests. For instance, the gentleman at the register alerted me to the fact that their rice is made in chicken broth. He offered alternatives and everything came out great. On top of all that, they even have whole wheat tortillas. This place is definitely a welcome business in Natomas. Fresh grilled chipotle(Jalapeño) peppers are available at the salsa bar. There’s something you don’t see everywhere.

I was excited to see a new business open in this shopping center since many have come and gone and it is in walking distance of my house. I’m all about supporting local businesses. I wasn’t too impressed by this place, though. They aren’t anything special — I could easily make the burritos they serve and I’m no pro-chef. They are normal sized burritos — not as big as my boyfriend and I had thought they might be, hence the name. A little pricey for the quality, although the customer service was good. I haven’t been back since I tried it out the first time.

I went to Fat Burrito on Friday, and I have to say I felt like I was walking into a Mercedes dealership. The customer service was exceptional. I was greeted very promptly, I was given a taste test of the special. All I have to say is that the food was amazing. I was very impressed with the food and service. When I went the chips and salsa were free, and they give you a lot to eat. Thank you again and I will def be back.

I’m all for supporting local businesses and appreciate that Mexican food is once again available near Safeway on Del Paso, HOWEVER, I was so dissapointed with what they call a «Fat Burrito». Excited by this new restaurant, I asked my husband to pick some burritos up for lunch. Sadly, he came home with two cold burritos and by no means were they«Fat». We literally live two minutes from their location and he didn’t make any detours. The tortilla was not warm or had indication that it ever was heated, the meat was cold and dry and there was hardly any sour cream or guac. Price wise, it was quite dissapointing as well. $ 18 for two burritos(both w/extra charge guac), chips and one drink. I think I’ll just drive the extra few miles to Los Gallos for a more satisfying experience. Two stars for cleanliness, friendliness(according to the hubby) and location. Hopefully, it gets better!
