I was actually disappointed when i came here. They overcooked our burgers. I don’t like hockey puck burgers. But you kinda have to blame the cook on that one.
I may give it another chance someday. The reviews below are better. Hmmm.

I literally just finished my crispy chicken sandwich and it was so bomb! The chicken was perfectly fried with fresh everything and great tasting sauce. The game changer that separates Famous from other burger joints are the buns. The buns are so crispy, crunchy, and tasty unlike the usual soft grilled buns. Also, they have a variety of burgers to choose from.
The only reason this isn’t a 5 star review is because the décor of the place is kind of bland. This can be overlooked; especially when you’re with good company, the décor doesn’t really bother you. Also, the regular fries are kind of a hit or a miss. I haven’t tried the curly fries or onion fries yet.
Overall: the staff were really friendly, they play some good music, and there are beer on tap. I’m definitely coming back here to try a different burger and maybe the curly fries and shake.

Favorite family burger place. My husband, two kids under five years old and I enjoyed their food. We were not disappointed at all with their food. Husband ordered western bacon and that burger was huge. I ordered the pastrami sandwich, it was also big. Kids had chicken ranch club, we also order onion rings, curly and sweet potato fries and they were all very good. My husband said food was fabulous the only bad thing was the bathroom; it was very unsanitary. We will be back again.

The quality of the burgers and fries are outstanding. I don’t mind paying a little extra for a meal that possesses the quality ingredients like a great bun they give you. My only suggestion is that they make some much needed improvements to the ambiance. The bathroom needs attention as well. Service can be expedited as well. Overall this is a solid place even if it is pricey. $ 23 for two meals.

I used to love the Famous Burger on Watt Ave in N. Highlands, so I was very disappointed when my son and I rolled up in to this location yesterday afternoon. Maybe it’s because they’re located directly across from two superior dining establishments that this place just decided to have such an air of ambivalence prevailing over it. Anyway, I ordered the Famous Burger and my son, eating here for the first time, followed suit. Both of our burgers were topped with the fattiest pieces of pastrami we’ve ever seen, and in attempting to bite through it I managed to slingshot a fair amount of mayo and thousand island dressing onto my newly purchased Comic-​Con t-​shirt! My son gave up after a couple bites and decided to just eat the fries, and half of them were undercooked and cold in the middle. Had the burgers been at the level of their former glory I could have overlooked the fact that I was unable to purchase a shake and had to sit down at a very greasy table. $ 24 wasted.

This place is very good, I tried it for the 1^st time yesterday and I will be returning !!! I recommend the #4 chicken sandwich yummy !!!

If I were rating this only on the food, they would get a 5 star rating for sure! The burgers were delicious. I got a pretty plain cheeseburger, but my girlfriend got the BBQ bacon burger and it was delicious! The burgers and fries were big portions and I couldn’t stop eating them! The buns were more of a roll, and they were excellent. And we got sweet potato fries that were awesome.
The reason I couldn’t give it a 5 was; 1) it took a reeeeally long time to get my food. I didn’t go during a very busy hour, there was only 3 other people there, and it took about 20 – 25 minutes to get my food. It was definitely worth the wait but then I lead to the next reason… 2) the décor and atmosphere of the restaurant wasn’t the greatest either. There wasn’t any music playing, which would have kept me a little busy while waiting, also, they had a ton of space for seating and there wasn’t many tables.
I hear this place gets pretty crowded with college students, but it didn’t seem like there would be much space for them to actually sit down. There was plenty of standing room though. Over all, I really enjoyed this place, there was just a few things that turned me off.

I had the fresh mushroom burger with cheese with sweet potato fries and it was amazing!!! Fresh ingredients and fast service!
The service was amazing! I had no idea what kind of burger I wanted and the staff really customizes your burger, they have amazing options if you are craving something sweet, spicy or anything in-​between!
Great service and amazing food!

Stopped in tonight with my 11 year old son. I drive by all of the time and have been curious.
The good: The staff is friendly and efficient. The cheeseburgers are hot and tasty especially with the works-​nice and fresh. The fries are hot and salty– almost as good as McD’s
The not so good: The place could use a floor cleaning and some fresh paint on the walls. I would take the food to go but I don’t like cool or microwaved burgers.
It was pretty cold inside. My son wouldn’t take his jacket off.
I didn’t see the restrooms.

WHY THIS PLACE DOESN’T HAVE A 5 STAR RATING IS BEYOND ME!
The Place: was oddly decorated, but you could tell they did the best with the space they had. All tables and counters were clean, though; and even the soda, lids, straws area was organized to a T.
One thing I love when restaurants have them, are the large windows so you can see the cook mastering their art! They have this, and I was able to watch as the chef fired up my Western Bacon Burger. VERY cool.
The Service: is one of the most memorable parts of the experience. The gentlemen who helped us continued to have conversations with us throughout our dining. He talked to us about their new location and all the plans he has for it, he talked to us about a 20 patty burger he made a few weeks prior for a tiny little woman who could barely eat half of it.. . basically, he chatted us up and was onviously in good spirits and enjoyed what he did for a living.
The Food: well.. . let’s just say they RIGHTFULLY called Famour Burgers. Holy COW– ha ha, get it? The Wester Bacon Cheeseburger BLEW my MIND! The meat tasted as if it had never been frozen, the buns were this perfect combination of crispy and soft, the onion rings on the inside tasted as though they breaded them THERE, and the BBQ sauce was delicious. I hate the entire thing. Ha. Yum.
My husband and I are looking forward to returning to see their new location!

Oct 29, 2013: men’s room is clean and smells like bleach. Nothing looks very new, but not even a single graffiti.
On to the food… That was one good burger! Prices are a bit high, but the food is way above a chain drive through. Big, too. Maybe share your fries, I couldn’t finish them.

I’ll admit it’s been awhile since I’ve indulged here, but only because I moved out of the area and believe me I miss this place! After giving it a shot expecting something slightly better than a drive-​thru, it became a favorite burger spot. Everything is great, especially the fries and onion rings. Burgers are the perfect size, made fresh with great toppings. If you’re ANYWHERE near this place and hungry, give it a shot!
I see a lot of people knocking off stars because of the bathrooms, and if the name of this place was «Famous Bathrooms», I’d probably give them a bad review too. Yes, it’s unfortunate that they do not have cleaner restrooms but that’s the last thing on my mind when I want a great burger so I’d never let that stop me from enjoying their food.

I went in before a Unilocal event. They were very friendly and accommodating. They had no knowledge of Unilocal,so I’m glad I could inform them about it. I see a lot of reviews mentioning the bathroom being gross. The ladies room wasn’t bad. It’s a small family owned joint that serves fresh patties from Merced cows (which might be why the prices are «pricey.» I personally don’t find the prices to be high, especially compared to «Bro-​gers» and Brews (what I like to call Burgers and Brews.) I personally would go here any day over that place.
I had the mushroom and cheese burger; they gave me the option of switching the cheese for no extra charge. I opted for cheddar instead of swiss. My burger was pretty good. The veggies were fresh and crisp and the mushrooms were grilled well. I’d definitely come back.

2 stars because of the filthy bathrooms. The food was very good, but, the bathrooms do suck. I can’t believe they let them get as bad as they do, and I can’t believe they don’t read these reviews and get in there and clean them. If you are hungry and don’t need to use the bathrooms, its great food!

Came here today with my friend & was reading the reviews about this place, and almost everyone was talking about the «bathroom» but the reviews where so old, I was thinking they could’ve fix the problem… WRONG! I didn’t even wanna wash my hands here! The bathroom had mold all over the urinal cake, how the f**k did this place get a pass from the health department? Well just seeing the bathroom I could not eat the food. My friend said «whatever you saw on Unilocal,tell me AFTER I’m done eating»

I was really shocked by the restroom in this place. It looked like a third world bomb had gone off in it. If you’ve never seen a crappy Mexican gas station restroom, check it out. If someone told me a grenade had exploded in there, I would believe it. Spray paint, blue paint, bad paint job, holes in the floor, toilet tank missing, dirty toilet tank. Yikes! The rest of the restaurant wasn’t as bad but looks like it needs a good cleaning and fresh was and paint.
The burger looked good but was strangely assembled up side down. No kidding. Usually the patty is on the bottom and the cheese and produce are on top of it. Not here. The burger was glued to the top of the bun by the cheese and all the produce was under it. Every bite tasted like a salad. Partially because there was too much lettuce and tomato and partially because the patty was stuck to the top. I never thought it made a difference where you placed the patty but it does.
Some redeeming qualities were the grilled onion (delicious), the burger’s bun (very good), the perfectly cooked golden brown French fries (tasty) and the friendliness of the staff. Not a very polished place but hopefully with some effort, they will get it together.

Food was pretty decent, but the place could sure use a good scrub. I don’t know if the place was good enough to warrant me ever driving back to this area just to come here, but if I do end up here one day, it will be a to-​go order.
In my quest to find the best burger in Sac, I stumbled upon this place. Right off the exit of 65^th St. The place was completely empty, never a good sign, and I ordered a Western Cheeseburger –after having it recommended by the woman behind the register. She said it was «very good» and promised I would like it. I couldn’t argue with that, and I also ordered it with a side of onion rings. The burger was okay, but in was really missing flavor. It was decently sized, and came with an onion ring in it, a bit of bacon, and a teeny-​tiny bit of BBQ sauce that really could have been applied a bit more generously. I asked for a side of BBQ sauce to add to the burger myself, and they happily gave it to me along with side of ranch. The onion rings were of the battered type, and pretty good.
After finishing the burger, I felt pretty satisfied with everything, and just needed to use the bathroom before heading out. And this is where things really got ugly. On one hand I’m glad I went in their after eating rather than before, because if I’d have gone in before I do-​doubt would’ve lost my appetite. Instead however, I went in their with a full stomach, and almost threw up after taking a few breaths of the putrid air in their. Honestly, the throw-​up may have improved things a bit… I quickly did my business and got out as quick as possible, in a near sprint as I left the building. With a bathroom that disgusting, it really makes me wonder how the conditions of the kitchen were, and it makes me sick to my stomach.
Burger alone was pretty decent but missing any real flavor, but they really need to clean that place up

After a hard day’s work and on my way to school, I wanted to treat myself to a burger. So I dropped by this place for a cheeseburger meal with fries and a coke. Cost was $ 10 after sac state discount (10% off). Since the price was a bit on the high side for an establishment of this type, my expectations went up accordingly.
Unfortunately my expectations were not met. The burger patty was lacking flavor; tasted not much better than store bought frozen patty. Everything else was alright, fresh veggies, decent fries, friendly service. I wanted to like this place, but. I’ve had better.

It’s easy to drive by this place without it catching your eye. Even if it does, it doesn’t look like much in that little strip mall. But they’ve got great food, and when it comes down to it, that’s all that really matters. Plus one of the guys that works there looks like actor Adrien Brody, so around the office, the place has been dubbed Brody Burger. «Hey, wanna go grab a Brody Burger?» If it’s good enough for an Oscar-​winning actor’s look alike, it’s good enough for me.
I usually order the gardenburger with some blue cheese thrown on there… it’s money. The fries are solid too.
If the line at the Squeeze Inn is out the door, Brody Burger makes for a fine substitute. Tell Adrien I said hi.
