When I moved to Fairhaven it was like a little Bohemian oasis that I instantly fell in love with. The property is covered in grass, flowers, fruit and nut trees. The neighbors were more welcoming than anywhere i’d lived previously, and the manager was always available and on top of things. The apartment itself had seen much better days – cigarette-burned counter tops, stars mysteriously stenciled on the linoleum, carpet that looked dirty even when it was cleaned – but I felt the rent was fair and the property made it all worthwhile. Unfortunately, it was sold twice during my time there. The second owners were great. The were friendly, efficient, professional, and made some much needed upgrades to the property(not to my apartment, but to ones that turned and in general). But they flipped it. The new owners skimped on everything. Tenants began to talk about how the new owners refused to provide a phone number, address or email and were unreachable. Rent couldn’t be paid online. Issues took forever to be addressed and were done the cheapest possible way. Negative energy hung over what once was a tight community. I began to look for a new place. Six people moved before I did. I found a great new place, more expensive, bigger, slightly more updated. On the walk through for my deposit the owner pointed out things like the fact that I hadn’t dusted the mini-blinds. The oven wasn’t entirely clean. Three weeks later I received a check in the mail After living there two and a half years they gave me $ 9 of my $ 1250 deposit. And then they shampooed the carpet and rented it for $ 100 more without even painting it! These people are nothing more than uptown slum lords. Don’t feed their greed!
