El Primo Pizza & Taqueria

Not sure why I wondered into this place but I should of walked right out when I saw the place was empty on a Sunday morning. There must have been about 4 other sad looking people eating. I ordered a Menudo and I believe it was probably one of the worst Menudos I have ever tried. The soup smelled rotten. I regret not walking away. The place is under new ownership. It is now called «El Patio». Stay away. You will be glad I warned you.

Good Mexican food. Loved the guacamole!!! Has some jalapeños. Their cabeza is good, but I would go for their carnitas for everything I order next time. Perfect amount of crispness without being greasy or dried out. I will be back to try their Torta that looked amazing from another guests order. Authentic Mexican food at a decent price. Their salsa verda is fresh and above average

I had a very wonderful experience there and the food was delicious. The live music was a bonus i have always had a deep seeded love for restaurants that have live music. The new owners walk around and converse with the customers which is a great sign that this family restaurant is definitely going to thrive. Definitely will be back to intermingle and reconnect with my latin roots haha ¹⁰⁄₁₀

It is very clear that every time we go here, we are treated differently because we are NOT Mexican (99.9% of customers are Mexican). Finally we’ve had enough so I am writing this review. We get bad service every time and have to wait VERY long for everything while we watch others (all Mexican) who came AFTER us get all their drinks and meals in a timely manner and get great service. Is this a coincidence? It is my opinion that the workers at this restaurant are discriminatory.

First time here and it was my worse experience ever. First of all, the bathrooms were disgusting. they have many waitresses but yet during my time here not once did one waitress check if we needed anything. I don’t plan on returning…

The Mexican pizza was good but it could be better. They did not add enough carne asada or chorizo to it. It mostly had onion, bell pepper, tomatoes and just a bit of cilantro. We also got a pitcher of Modelo and it had a funny taste to it. The service is ok. I was shocked to walk in and hear karaōke guy singing. His actually pretty annoying acting like Juan Gabriel. Seriously!!! Wow I’m more of a Banda, Norteño and corridos type of girl so yea You can imagine how I felt. Lol this place gets busy after 10(Saturday)pm. Mostly people older than 40. I will stick with coming in earlier in the day next time to avoid the karaōke guy.

My wife and I stopped by for some pizza. We never expected a live Mariachi. Their pizza was really good, beer was nice and cold, Mariachi was on point. Can’t wait to go back!

Good food and service. Way too pricey and needs to improve cleanliness, lighting, and décor. Its just ugly and not festive. Makes me want to eat outside on Northgate Blvd.

A Mexican pizza! Who would have thought. It is very yummy; it has chorizo, bell peppers, jalapeños, cheese, steak, and much more. Complementary chips and salsa are good too.
Service could have been better. Was told the Agua de Horchata was being made (we had ordered it but there was none) and it took 30 minutes to «make» but by then we already had other drinks to go with our pizza. Waitress only checked up on us every 20 min or so but I guess it was a busy night.
Mariachi left at 5pm and then the karaōke started. All are welcome to participate. Very entertaining! Later they brought down 4 projectors (4 large screens) in the middle of the room where they showed the soccer game. Good place for large groups and kids too.

Always comes through with delicious food, my personal face is the pizza. Gets pretty loud some nights but other than that I have no complaints. Staff has always been personable.

My girlfriends and I came here to watch mariachi, but… we didn’t see mariachi. We had an unexpected but very fun, enjoyable night. We went on a Friday night, there was a singing contest going on. It was very entertaining, the vibe was cool, fun and friendly. We had multiple members of the staff ask if we needed anything numerous times. I was very impressed with the service. Everything we ordered was delicious. The Mexican pizza is amazing! Overall this was a great experience!!! Not what we expected but my girlfriends and I had a wonderful night! The only 1 thing I would say that wasn’t up to par was the ladies restroom. One stall was out of order and the line was very long.

This place is amazing. I’ve been going here for the last 8 years. The pizza is one of my favorites, I also love their beans and rice with chips. Their guacamole is made perfect! They also offer catering… although im not sure if they deliver we’ve always picked it up. The price of their food is verrry reasonable. One of my favorites!

Was there last Sunday not to full was not happy with the waitress and the food my wife found a long women’s hair in her steak sandwich (torta) and when she had presented to show them like it was no big thing the employee said they will make another I don’t know about you but me I would like my money back. And all the food came in different times we were not able to eat the same times they are going to loose customers fast do to dirty food and bad coustomers service.

Very spacious and lots of seating. If I’m not mistaken this place turns into some kind of night club or hall of an evening they have a stage set up off to the left. The food is pretty good I had a shrimp cocktail and while most places are stingy with the crackers the come out with a basket full !! The food comes up really quick and the ceviche is super chunky and full of flavor .
I enjoyed myself the staff is so friendly ! I will be returning

I had the wings and they were so good! Nice and fried on the outside and juicy on the inside. I was pleasantly surprised by this place. I’ll definitely go back!

Terrible. The burrito was worse than a simple, generic burrito. I’ve had better ones at home. Lettuce was nastiest/​worst/​oldest lettuce I’ve EVER seen in a burrito. The rice didn’t taste or look fresh, seemed like it was pretty old. Two stars because the pricing wasn’t too high, $ 6.50 for a asada burrito and chips and salsa. But still not worth it for me. Didn’t finish my burrito, disgusting.

Amazing place and people. The atmosphere is awesome and the pizza is good. Get the Carne Asada Pizza. If this pizza was a woman, I’d give her a ring. Can’t go wrong with anything on this menu. The mariachi is amazing too! Restaurante perfecto para un domingo! (Google Translate)

I love this place, especially during happy hour! They have a bunch of great things like $ 1 tacos! My favorite meats are the carnitas, pollo and carne asada (yes, in that order with carnias being the best!). They’re true to their name too for they serve pizza, Mexican food, AND burgers! The pizza and Mexican food are great, but the burgers are alright (I wouldn’t recommend it). I usually come here when I’m with a group and we can’t settle on one thing to eat. The staff are friendly too.
tl;dr: $ 1 happy hour tacos, try the carnitas, pass on the burgers

Y que digo de la comida esta malisima!
Esos tacos que me sirvieron, la carne estaba muy Dura. A las carnitas les note un sabor Extrano y la pizza que ordenamos estaba Amarga! Yo observe que la base de la pizza se veia, como entre chiclosa o como decimos entre cruda; su sabor desde la orilla era Amarga! En pocas palabras totalmente horrible la Comida.
Comentamos respecto @ MAL sabor Pizza y esta se veia como que no fue bien horneada y la Respuesta del servicio despues de haberla provado fue: LAS PIZZAS AQUI ASI SON!
Mi 1ra vez que fui pedi un pozole y estaba todo espezo y batido parecia que eran ya las sobras «Malisimo»! Pero crei que consumir otra comida seria mejor en este lugar ! Pero; me equivoque, no vuelvo a ir a ese lugar, ni de Broma! * Isa
