I really hate to give El Pollo Loco a one star cause I love the food. The service behind the register was great, the ladies were friendly. However, the service behind the food counter was behind horrible! The lady that was there was rude and beyond unhelpful. I asked for a larger cup for salsa since the small one that is offered can maybe be enough for 2 chips. She told me that the small cup offered is enough for me. Who are you to decide what’s enough and what’s not enough???

A few days ago I saw an advertisement on TV about a salad with double the chicken, thought I would give it a try. The clerk was very nice. The salad was amazing. It did have double the chicken plus avocados. Great salad.

I’ve been to a few pollo locos in the area, the food is the same in every place. I love Pollo Loco especially their new under 500 calorie plates and the chicken tortilla soup. I’ve been to this location a few times now, and they are getting a 5 star because they are really happy employees. The customer service is awesome. They smile and seem very happy to serve you.

We are kinda loving this place right now. So far I’ve had 3 of the 5 under 500 calorie meals. All have been good. My favorite is the double chicken avocado salad. Tonight hubby ordered a whole chicken with tortillas. The chicken was well seasoned and steaming hot off the grill. He made soft tacos using onions, salsa, and cilantro from the free salsa bar. We receive coupons in the mail so it affordable in addition to being fresh. The counter staff is always courteous.

So this is first time here. I ordered a double chicken avocado salad and this is what they sell me. Barely any chicken. The salsa is fermented barely any lettuce on it come on really?

This has to be the best El Pollo Loco ever because I get big fat BRC burritos every time I come here. Another El Pollo Loco skimps on ingredients. This El Pollo Loco loads every BRC burrito with so much beens, rice, and cheese that they’re like miniature footballs. They are absolutely delicious and a tremendous value for your money. Who needs pizza when you can load up on BRC burritos here for half the price?

The chicken needs trimming. Too much gristle and fat on it. The customer service is lacking. Not my favorite place to dine.

This is a very busy and clean El Pollo Loco. The $ 5 combo bowl had only a few small pieces of chicken with lots of bean. A few hours later, my wife said I was producing nothing but NASTY gas. :(She actually got up and went to another room. Note to self– eat only chicken next time.

This el pollo loco is the best I’ve been to. Always fresh, hot flame grilled chicken! I rarely get anything other than the chicken because it’s so good. For sides I like Mac n cheese, and mashed potatoes. If you haven’t been to a pollo loco, definitely go to this one, it’s always on point.

Ordered the 20 piece meal and did not get what I ordered vastly inferior. The hand carved chicken salad that we had a coupon for was not given us and the coupon was taken. The drive through person had absolutely no customer service skills and was actually a bit put off by us bothering to order. She did take the receipt to recalculate the bill but never returned it. We were told on the phone by another non-customer Service employe that there was nothing we could do without a receipt. Actually this is why we are writing this. We had a bad experience and will not go to this El Pollo Loco again. In the past and at other locations the customer service was great.

I hate to give this place one star because I LOVE el pollo loco! But my last visit was awful! First of all they got rid of the pizza they had and I fell in love with. I’m so disappointed! So I ordered a family meal and the chicken wasn’t as crispy on the outside as normal. Tasted kind of old. Will give it another try, but not any time soon.

Good flame broiled chicken, their burritos and salads are good also. Their salsa is ok, I’ve had better.

First time at this location and was very impressed! Not only were the food choices tasty looking and reasonably priced, the staff was very friendly and professional. The restaurant is clean and well organized and booth seating comfortable. My BFF and lunch companion had the Avocado Salad(under 500 calories) and I had the build your own bowl with their signature chicken as the protein. Food was yummy and filling. I probably could have done with something lighter since I was ready for a nap after eating only ¾ of my order. She loved her salad and was only able to finish about ¾ of it as well. Very tasty and filling meal for about $ 16 for two. This included refillable drinks! Their salsa bar is good with more than the usual pico and salsa. They offered diced onions, cilantro, pico, house salsa, salsa verde, a medium heat guacamole based salsa(which I loved… especially with the onions and cilantro added for an added flavor), and diced peppers. Will definitely be back to try some of their lighter options, although according to my lunch companion their stuffed quesadillas are very good!

This place is pretty good. I get the Spicy Chiptole burrito which is very good, but I was really surprised how many calories it had when I looked. I always thought this place was a healthier taco bell with chicken, etc, but I guess they just have a good marketing department. Anyway, it hasn’t stopped me from coming, just not as often! They also recently renovated the interior and it looks nice.

Just devoured 3 solid pieces of their chicken, whole beans and two of their salsa’s for lunch & had to document it… Even though this was a catered & delivered order it still counts right? I say hell to the yes it does as the food was delicious, fresh & I sat and watched over 20 other people inhale it too while raving about its deliciousness & going back for seconds all in the same conference room so review stands. The doc’s here at work treated the rest of us to lunch today and for just over two hundred smacker’s and some change we dined on copious amounts of their chicken, tortillas, rice, whole beans, chips and 2 types of salsa. Chicken: The best grilled chicken I’ve had in Sac so far. Skin is perfectly crisped yet still moist and chewy & I ate it all, seasoned perfectly with just the right amount of salt and I don’t know if they brine their chicken or not but the meat was perfectly salt~seasoned as well. MOIST not dry. That’s key for me. I ate 3 good sized breast pieces for lunch as it was a mixed bag of thighs, legs and the like so I splurged on the biggest ones available… Not at all smoky as overly smoked meat is the kiss of death for me so I loved the lack of it… Grilled not smoked there’s a huge difference. Beans: Whole beans bathed in a delicious sauce. Hard to explain really the liquid that surrounds the beans but it only added to the experience. Beans I LOVED as they were perfectly cooked; not under not over and still whole and melted in my mouth with minimal chewing yet withstood the fork test & didn’t bust apart when stabbed with a fork nor shoot off the plate from being undercooked… I like beans & these details are important to me. Salsa’s: Red chunky & a pureed creamy green sauce with bits of cilantro in it… Both delicious, fresh & flavorful. No chips for me so I piled copious amounts onto my beans; delicious combo and can stand alone. Didn’t eat the tortilla’s, rice or chips so can’t comment on them. Loved the protein in this meal and the flavors; just can’t believe I can’t ever remember eating at a crazy chicken before. Mental note taken to do it again.

I haven’t been to any El Pollo Loco in at least five years. Not that I don’t like ‘em, just it was never on my regular route around town. Well, I was on my way back from Costco and was craving a burrito. Suddenly, out of the gloom of late afternoon, I see the bright red and yellow El Pollo Loco sign! I pulled in quicker than you can say Ay Caramba! This location has plenty of parking surrounding it, although its a bit hard to get in the drive through, you really have to swing hard towards the right. All the usual goodies they have were there, plus a few new ones. I had the Chicken Avocado Burrito and it was huge! I’d forgotten just what a value you get for you $$ here. The large iced tea was humongous and made me realize just how much I missed it here. I hate to say it, but I enjoyed it so much, I went back two days later and had another one! Delicioso!

This 2-Star rating has to do with service and product consistency. The food, in my opinion, is 5-Star for what it is – delicious. I’ve ordered chips and salsa, driven home, and had only chips. The BRC burrito(Beans Rice Cheese) is frequently more like an Rice Burrito +5 beans, unless you ask for extra beans, which I’ve started to do recently. I haven’t checked to see if I’m being charged for the extra beans yet. Unfortunately, I love their food. Just wish they’d bring consistency to their service and product. I do appreciate that when I order 2 chicken wings, I’m sometimes surprised with a 3rd wing. Still, it’s not enough to counter the negative experience.

I am really impressed with this place. My friend and I ordered the 8 piece meal that comes with two large sides and added in another 8 pieces for 5 dollars more. We also got 2 flans for dessert. The total came out to be $ 32.72. Yeah… kinda expensive. It cost a bit more than KFC and possibly all other chicken places. The combo menu was also much more limited here. But was it worth it? I think HELLYES. Best grilled chicken I’ve had in a long time. I’m unsure whether this is considered a fast food chain or not, but it for sure didn’t taste like it. We packed up all of our condiments(and they provided PLENTY) and got our order to go. The drive home was literally a torment with the aroma of the chicken escaping from the box. When we got to the house, the chicken was still too hot to touch, but who doesn’t appreciate freshhhhness?! EVERYTHINGWASSOOOOOOOOOOGOOD! The chicken was definitely made right. It was juicy with the perfect smokey flavor from the grill. The best part was of course the skin. I was very tempted to be a jerk and just tear off and devour all of the chicken skin, leaving my friend with the meat. BUT I DIDN’T. And I’m proud. Just had to take a moment to brag about that. Oh… and the sides… oh my goodness. The sides were heavenly. Their mashed potatoes taste just like the ones at KFC, and I say that in a good way. The flame grilled corn was a real hitter. I wish we’ve gotten more. I like to add it in the tortilla. I can honestly say I have not eaten so ridiculously much in a long time. And my stomach felt like it was about to burst, but I could not physically let go of the chicken. There wasn’t even room for dessert. Of course that didn’t stop me from eating my flan, which by the way, tasted just like cotton candy. I thought that was a bit odd, but who doesn’t like to eat a spoonful of sugar? Okay, probably not everyone. But still, I really enjoyed it! Sooooo glad I decided to try out this place, and it will be my new go to chicken place!
