Wanted to try a new place with my little girl. We’re big breakfast fans. She had scrambled eggs with bacon and pancakes:(food was cold. I had the NY steak and eggs, and the steak came out a bit cold and over cooked. Unfortunately, we won’t make it back. The server was great. Very nice, but we didn’t mention anything. Figure it won’t make a difference. Probably come back to have a beer though. Lots of T.V.‘s

A good breakfast is always enjoyed whether it is after a night of indulgence, an early morning fueling or a relaxing meal on a weekend morning. You can get a good breakfast here. If you want a spectacular«knock your socks off» breakfast, look elsewhere. The food is good and the bacon here is excellent, thick exactly as I like. They also serve lunch and dinner here as well as a full bar. The prices are reasonable from perspective. It is a bit noisy in here, not so much so that you can’t hold a conversation at a table of four. Today was slower service wise, I got up and asked the hostess if someone could take my order. Love the hours here, 6AM on weekdays and has open hours on holidays. I will continue to eat here as long as the quality stays where it is our gets better.

Night visit due to event started here so we sat up at the bar and ordered up some zucchini fries and quesadilla yummy. Drinks were great and the noise inside loud. Beer nice and cold! Busy and staff still has great service

The portions here are HUGE! You can easily split entrees here. price is fair. Service is super friendly. And they always refill your cup of joe promptly. This is a very causal breakfast and lunch place with a bar as well. Food is okay, just your standards. Nothing amazing, but not bad. However do not order a Bloody Mary here ! It was terrible. Other then that this place is an easy place to get food on a lazy morning in midtown Sacramento :)

What an amazing place. Want some great breakfast food? All day. Lunch food? Delicious. Dinner? Same thing. The most important quality, however, it the staff. Without Rosie and Bobby, I don’t know that I would have ever come back. This place is amazing because of the people who work there. Interact with them. Hang with them. Enjoy the experience.

I was a bit early to my haircut appt around the corner at jimmy’s so I thought I would grab a drink since its around happy hour for most places. Beach hut deli started at 4 so I head the other direction on J. I see some outdoor seating and assume it’s a bar/restaurant and sure enough it’s a place called Cornerstone café & bar. The sign above the door reads: HAPPYHOUR MON — SAT3pm-6pm $ 2 Drafts Awesome! So I go in and while they did have a decent amount to choose from I decide to order coors light since I’m really just looking for a happy hour deal not a craft beer experience. I figure since its a cheap deal I’ll get two pints of the coors light. So bartender pours me 2 pints and then rings up $ 6.xx??? I ask if it was indeed happy hour and he gets this ridiculous perplexed look on his face. He then smugly points to the Miller lite tap and says«Yea it is Happy Hour. You have to order the Miller» Wat the Eff brvh? I evidently just got bait n switched. But it didn’t say anything about that in the banner… whatever. I even tip the guy 3 bucks. Whatever. Now because I didn’t question their seemingly straightforward Happy Hour draft policy I got taken for a few extra bucks. What a reward for someone who went against their better judgement and turned a blind eye to the CONDITIONALPASS on their HEALTHINSPECTION. Look it up for yourself on Sac County EMD site, it’s all there; improper food temps, no safe serv certs, MOLDYICE containers… I really wanted to like this place because of its convenient proximity to the barber but it’s just not happening. I only give 2 stars because of everything together, the bait n switch, bad attitude, and failing health inspection. Get it together cornerstone, watch an episode of Bar Rescue or something.

Came here for the first time a couple weeks ago and the food was not prepared well. My fries weren’t even fresh. Not only was the food average but the service was horrible! It took 10 minutes to even get out drinks. On top of that, our waiter didn’t even come back to ask if everything tasted okay. Very disappointed with this place.

Wow… I came here w/a group of 8 people after having a few drinks elsewhere. A few guys ordered drinks, so I simply asked the bartender for a glass of water… This bartender, a shorter chubbier lady, sighs and makes it an issue. She starts venting loudly«if someone orders another water… Oh my god. This is a bar»… «If you want water go to a water fountain»… «I make minimum wage I can’t even get a tip»… when my cousin asked her why she is being so rude about it, she replies, «I’m a bartender, I don’t have to be nice» it kept going, back and forth. Another lady patron, gets up to defend the bartender saying, «We’re a bar, we make money selling drinks, not giving glasses of water.» So, go here if u just want a drink, and not looking for friendly service. But who needs a drink that bad… Just walk a block, it’ll be worth it

Came here for lunch yesterday and it was good. I parked a block away on a side street and got free parking. The sign said grab a menu and sit down. There weren’t any menu, but as we passed a table a guy gave us his. That was really sweet. My friends both ordered the NY strip sandwich. One was perfect. Medium rare. The other was well done and full of fat and grizzle. It was bad. They offered to get us another one, but my friend was too embarrassed so they took half off that one. The two just shared one sandwich. I had the taco salad. It was impressive. Very big. The shell looked like it was just fried. I was happy with my order. The waitress offered good customer service.

I enjoy coming to this place because you get a nice meal for your buck. It is an American food restaurant that offers breakfast all day. I have tried many things on this menu and I have yet to eat a meal I didn’t like. The service here is typically good. There are days where the service is a little bleh! But for the most part Cornerstone is a nice place to check out. There are some days where they have bottomless mimosa, which are really good!!! If you are in the area and looking for a place to eat at a decent price this is definitely worth trying. Cornerstone is also a nice place to watch any type of sports game. They have a pretty good bar selection too.

The food at Cornerstone reminds me of… Denny’s honestly. I have eaten breakfast here a handful of times and tried appetizers at the bar once. The place is fairly large with plenty of booths and a bar seating, and also a few tables outside. The early bird special, which goes till 8:30 on weekdays, is bangin. You get to pick three items from a list(includes eggs, sausages, pancakes, french toast, bacon, fruit, biscuit and gravy, cottage cheese, etc) and it is only $ 4.25. I repeat: $ 4.25. Crazy. Everything is perfectly decent, but doesn’t taste remotely homemade. Just don’t order the guacamole. It literally was like guacamole paste you buy at the grocery store. My friends and I ordered it once all hungover thinking guac sounded amazing, and this was frankly just… not what we had in mind! Service can be a little flippant and slow at times as well. I will continue to return to Cornerstone when I get up too early and want to pay someone else to make me breakfast rather than do it myself :) Sitting on the patio this early is always nice too.

Corner Stone Café and Bar is one of our favorite places to have breakfast in the Sacramento down town area. My wife and I have been coming to Corner Stone for the past 5 years. Years ago we saw a coupon in our local News And Review news letter. The coupon read(Buy One Get One). So naturally we went to take advantage of the coupon. Upon arriving, their breakfast menu advertised their(Early Bird Specials) which runs 7 days a week(Monday — Sunday) from 6am-8:30am. From then on we were Hooked! My favorite breakfast on their«Early Bird Special«is their(Denver Omelette). A 3 egg omelette served with house fries and toast for only $ 4.95. Not only is this special super cheap, it’s also is very«YUMMY» My wife usually orders their(French Toast Combo). This is a French Toast, house fries, with your choice of bacon or sausage and scrambled eggs. To be honest with you, my wife and I have only eaten breakfast here so our comments only refer to our experience during breakfast. Looking at their menu, they also have an extensive lunch and dinner menu. Their food is not fancy by no means. For breakfast they serve eggs, omelette, pancakes, waffles, biscuit and gravy, ect… For lunch and dinner they offer you your basic comfort food ! Hamburgers, hot and cold sandwiches, and salads. Their choices of hamburgers range from your classic Cheese Burger all the way up to their Mushroom Swiss Burger. They also serve a Veggie Burger as well as other vegetarian dishes. For sandwiches they have(Roast Beef Supreme, French Dip, Club Sandwich, Philly Beef Sandwich) ect… As for salads they offer your House Garden Salad, Chef Salad, Almond Chicken Salad plus many many more choices. On a beautiful day you can dine outside on their outdoor patio or you can dine indoors in their large air conditioned dining room. As you walk in the front entrance you’ll find 6 booths to your right. Each booth should accommodate at least 6 people easily. There are at least 20 tables and chairs through-out the main floor. To the left is the bar. There are at least 15 – 20 stools along the bar and 5 television scattered throughout the room. They do have Happy Hour from 3pm — 6pm Monday — Saturday with drink and appetizer specials. Service is alway super friendly. Your food comes out fast! This is a perfect place to dine anytime of the day. A very casual and relaxing atmosphere. I never feel rushed while dining here. One other thing I should mention is that they are directly across the street from(Rick’s Dessert Diner). You can have your cake and eat it too ! The one star deduction is for their parking situation. Street parking near the café can be problem, especially during rush hour. So if you happen to be in the area, make Corner Stone Café and Bar a must place to visit!

The prices are outdated, less expensive on the Unilocal menu. It was more expensive when I picked up my food after ordering it over the phone. The waitress said it was probably for the other location. She was incorrect. The other waiter said there’s nothing he can do about it. I actually never asked to have the lower price. I just made the comment as I was getting my money out. Out of integrity and good business practice, it would be appropriate for them to double check their online stated prices in front of me, apologize for the inconvenience, and giver the price that is stated online. They’re not the most personable employees here. Food is good for the price. I’ll raise my star review once I’m notified by the manager that the problem has been resolved, with an apology.

Am loving the service, food & drink specials. Can’t wait to eat the menu lol. No seriously. Takes cards, cash & has an ATM inside. $ 2 Miller High lifes all day everyday. Very roomy, lovely décor & tv’s for sports. Hostess was nice and friendly. Who needs brunch when they serve breakfast all day. I will be back & hope to see you here.

This a review of Cornerstone billing itself as a «sports bar.» For an overall experience you can check out my previous, 3-star review. When I go to a sports bar, I’m looking for a few things: Multiple screens, great viewing angles, good food and a selection of(ideally local) specialty brews on tap. Beyond that, a camaraderie between the bar staff and/or clientele is a big plus! A non-negotiable: Today’s important sporting events on all screens. Not ET, evening news or the Kardashians Take Oak Park. So on a late-season NFL Sunday, we stopped in, ready to catch some exciting games(lured in by the 10-foot NFL banner on the patio). What was playing? The Raiders. On six screens. Apparently the owners didn’t buy the NFL season, so this was the only game they could show… until 1:30 when they had… one more game. Our food was decent. The bloody Mary passable. And the bartender amiable and prompt. But hey, we didn’t come here just to watch the one free game we could have seen at home! The roundup: Food: 3 — «Locavore» is not on the menu. Service: 3 — It’s best at the bar! Setting: 2 — TV screens could be better. Value: 3 — A decent deal. Date worthy: 2 — it’s not your Cheers pub! Dogs: Dunno. Probably not.

Cheap breakfast between 6 – 830 am! We have been coming to Cornerstone for years. They used to be in the building right next door. Even after that move they were with Headhunters which I think is a different name now. I really liked it when they were sharing with HH because HH had a nice large patio lounge. Oh well, maybe in the next life! I’ve known Cornerstone to have the early bird breakfasts for a great deal with no coupon necessary. I see their location has a large sized bar & outdoor seating but we come mainly for the breakfast. I had the french toast with eggs and ham with diet coke & my HB had the Denver omelette with coffee; all of this came to 14.00 plus I usually tip well. The same waitress has been with them a long time!!! This place is more dinerish than upscale but the bathrooms are decent. You might need to bring a sweater as their fans work well & it was a bit cold there. My husband noticed a newer jukebox & Brian Hickey was there from Channel 3 news. We were cool; we didn’t bother him! Give this place a chance; I knocked it down one star because parking could be a pain on J Street. Parking is a premium nowadays; I hate to see what happens once the arena is built!
