Omg Bodhi Bowl where have you been all of my life?! I’m a little sad that I am JUST discovering this place a few weeks before I move out of this city. Like seriously kicking myself because I didn’t come in sooner. My bf ordered a soup that had vermicelli, mushrooms, sprouts and I forget what else. But my goodness, the broth was AMAZING!!! We also ordered an appetizer, called the Four Noble Truths and it comes with this sweet and sour sauce. Guys’ this is a must order. For you meat lovers it almost tastes like chicken wings. I really thought I was eating chicken. So delicious! I believed I ordered the C4 on the menu. It came with rice, tomato slices and cucumber slices on the side and some greens. The feux meat was coated with herbs and spices and it tasted like deep fried beef. It was so so sooooooo tasty I swear I could eat it every day!!! We went around 5 pm and we were the only ones in there for a good hour. I hope this place is generally busy and we came at a slow time because they’re food is truly tasty! Definitely feels like it’s a whole in the wall considering my bf and I visit that area when we get Boba and we never noticed Bodhi ball across the street! Will definitely be coming back before my big move! The only thing I wasn’t a big fan of was my strawberry lemonade because it sort of tasted like strawberry jam but the more I drank it the more it actually grew on me.

I love his place. Being a vegetarian it is hard to find a place that has GOOD vegetarian noodles. I literally come here every week because of the quality of their food. I highly recommend this place if they’re a vegetarian and don’t eat onions and garlic and such.

Food here is absolutely delicious! I’m not a vegetarian, but I cannot get enough of this place. The only thing keeping them from getting five stars is the service. It’s not horrible, but service with a smile would definitely help this place. I have no doubt that they can improve it though, as I noticed the younger staff is trying to so, but the older workers seem like they could care less. The servers are nice, but they don’t exactly check in to see if our water levels are low. I usually come in groups of 2 – 3 people and we eat family style, so we can try multiple dishes. As a result, the table gets pretty crowded. I like to introduce out of town friends here, but get a little frustrated when finished plates are not cleared, making the table super packed and difficult to eat without being scared that something will drop on the floor, or even on us. Also, although tasty, I won’t be ordering their smoothies anymore, since every time so far the cups are only half full. I like to order them at the end of a meal as a dessert, but they keep charging the smoothies separate from our bill, instead of asking if we would like to add anything to our orders, making it extremely inconvenient on the times that we forget, or do not have enough cash, because there is a $ 10 credit card minimum. All in all. Food is great, service is tolerable. Just expect to eat some awesome vegetarian food!

Huge bowls of noodles for less than $ 7! This is a great vegetarian restaurant. The food is great, the experience was good. Could use some improvement. We were the only 2 customers in the restaurant for a few minutes, we were greeted quickly and sat down and given menus. The menu has a picture for each dish so you know what you’re ordering. The strawberry lemonade is made fresh! The Vietnamese coffee was iced with a strong flavor, but I wish they would put more in the cup. The noodles were great, full or pasta, veggies and fake meat. The one I ordered was spicy but if you want it more spicy, you can add the hot chili l that is conveniently placed at each table. You can choose from Sriracha or hot chili paste. For some reason they keep their front door wide open letting several flies it. It became irritating as flies circled around me while I was trying to enjoy my food. An area for improvement would be for the servers to come around and see if our waters need refills. That’s it! I definitely will return again and try something new.

This place is really good, highly recommended, the four noble truths are very very tasty, had their vege phở and bun reui, which is usually full of meat or seafood yet these options were extremely satifying. All their appetizers looked very good. Seems like a family owned place too so good for them doing something different and healthy for the community. Will definitely be coming back to this place.

Good place for vegans. Love all the variety and the affordable prices. Food is delicious though it is very oily. My wife and I have always had a pleasant experience here.

Bodhi Bowl is a great vegetarian restaurant! Right up there with Noble Vegetarian and Andy Nguyens, Bodhi serves fresh, flavorful vegetarian Vietnamese dishes. The host/server was chill and friendly. The place was bright and clean. We have to keep supporting these much-needed vegetarian restaurants in Sac to build a culture of responsible, diverse food choices!

We were eating vegetarian six days a week before… our only exception was when we wanted Vietnamese food. Other vegetarian Asian restaurants we had tried weren’t authentic, but this one has authentic tastes in pretty much everything we have tried. Get the Mi Quang. You won’t be disappointed!

As good if not better than Andy Nguyen. Had the awakening rolls and hue style noodle soup. Loved the taro in the egg rolls! Soup was had a really light lemon grass broth and was mildly spicy. The faux meat in the soup was really delicious. It was a great deal, fresh and fast. Has a family owned feel, the folks running the place were really nice and most other customers had the familiarity of regulars. I will definitely be back to try the phở. Just an FYI they are really only open Tuesday-Saturday. Unilocal does not have the right hours. May be a good idea to call before heading out.

I highly recommend the lemon grass chicken! The spices they used are a good combo. I’ve tried another dish with tumeric noodles and tomato based soup. That was pretty ok. But overall I like coming here when I want to eat out.

So, I am getting mixed signals. Most of the Unilocal reviews states this place has«plenty» of vegan options. On my most recent trip here, the waitress could only confirm that the B4 Happiness Noodles were vegan. She was not sure herself if any of the dishes were vegan because they did not know the ingredients to their meats and whether or not they contained dairy. It feels the vegan choices here have been all dropped and the only safe bet is a single hot noodle soup dish. Bummer.

Overall, nice place. I don’t come here often, but I do when my mom wants to go eat because she’s a vegetarian. This place serves vegetarian food in a Vietnamese style and for monks and other people who may eat similar to them. My mom does not eat garlic, onion and vegetables related to it and this place serves it this way. My mom is pretty picky when she’s not eating her own food that she makes and this is her favorite vege joint! So to me that means a lot. Great and friendly people and informative if you ask questions. I will continue to come back! Some broth or soup may have onion or garlic. So ask to make sure!

First impressions are strong. A neat, cute little restaurant with creative food names, reasonable prices and mediocre service. My friend and I came on a Friday evening around 5 pm and there was practically no other customers. We ordered the egg rolls, four noble truths soy ‘chicken’ legs, mindfulness noodle soup and my friend got the triple jewels as her main. The egg roll was mediocre and I felt it wasn’t worth the price listed. It tasted like average egg rolls to be frank. The soy chicken legs on the other hand was absolutely wonderful. It had a smokey ham flavor; a bit salty but the texture is fabulous; they served it with chili sauce and green chilies which was alright but I think a more slightly sour sauce along with sliced cucumbers would suit this dish better. It was still really good though! I had my mindfulness soup with the squash, bamboo, tofu and mushrooms. I personally really liked it but my friend thought it was just okay; it had an overpowering bamboo flavor that although I like, I think people who are new to eating Vietnamese food might be turned off by it! Finally, my friend had her triple jewels with rice, braised soy fish and hot and sour soup. There was quite a lot and she didn’t finish it but she liked that one better. Service was prompt but they never did come to check on us or offer more water. You would probably need to speak up if you want something from them. Overall, I would come back actually to check out their other dishes.

Was looking for a light and healthy veggie lunch in Little Saigon. After searching Unilocal for something close-by that fit the bill, I decided to stop-in at Bodhi Bowl. I ordered the Bún(Vietnamese noodle salad) called«Heavenly Noodle» on the menu. The Bún Nng Hng ân is described as: Vermicceli noodle served with grilled veggie«beef» slices, freshly shredded lettuce, shredded cabbage, cucumbers, mint leaves, bean sprouts, pickled carrots and daikon. Topped with crushed roasted peanuts and a side of special light tangy soy sauce. All ingredients were fresh and combined well to make a very tasty dish. I added a little Siracha mixed with hoisin to kick-up the spicy sweet notes a few notches and enjoyed every last bite! Service was prompt and friendly and the restaurant clean and full of diners. Two thumbs up for the Bodhi Bowl!

This is my 2nd time here and I was so happy the first time that I decided to come back. I am vegetarian and Vietnamese food is my favorite, so this place is pretty much perfect for me. The last time I was here, I ordered The Four Noble Truths(battered-fried soy«chicken» drums, served with sweet and sour dipping sauce) and Hue Style Noodle(lemongrass broth with large rice noodles, tofu, veggie ham, shiitake mushrooms, and veggie condiments). Today, I ordered The Four Noble Truths again and also the Phở BB. The Four Noble Truths had a wonderful, hearty texture and taste great paired with the slightly spicy dipping sauce that accompanies it. The Phở BB was served at just the right temperature(hot, but not scalding). I really enjoyed the way the texture of the fake meat and tofu complimented the fragrant broth. The mint and bean sprouts were also a crisp and refreshing addition to the Phở. I’ll be back in the near future and recommend this place for vegans and vegetarians who live here and those who are passing through/visiting Sacramento.

Love their vegetarian bun bo hue! After hearing good reviews about this place, my hubby and I decided to try this place out one Saturday afternoon. We started out with two appetizer dishes — spring rolls and egg rolls. The spring rolls were stuffed with fresh produce and vegetarian beef. It was very good and tasted like a regular spring roll! The fried egg rolls were fantastic and probably one of my favorite dishes there. It came out piping hot and fresh from the fryer! For my entrée I ordered the bun bo hue and I was very impressed! The broth tasted almost identical to a non-vegetarian bowl of bun bo hue! It was very flavorful and you can definitely taste the lemon grass and spice. Of course, it didn’t come with pig feet, meat and the other good stuff — but instead there were imitation meat and tofu which I personally would prefer eating. Overall, this establishment is definitely worth trying out. The restaurant itself is sanitary with very clean floors and tables. The waitress is very friendly and nice! :)
