Mayo and mustard sandwich anyone? Well, I ordered the Surfin Bird and recieved one. This sandwich had so much mayo and mustard that it had to be done on purpose. It was a waste of food and a waste of over $ 8. I will never ever be back. Go anywhere but here!

Jules(the manager) is awesome. Very sincere and respectful of her customers. She is the main reason why I would come back.

I’ve been burned one time too many by this location closing early without notice, rhyme or reason. Never coming back again.

I want to compliment the staff and Jules(Jewel-yes she is a gem!) the manager at this facility. We just ordered lunch for 14 people and again, the staff and manager pulled through. Their sandwiches are always fresh, the customer service is the BEST in town!

I came in today after a rough day at work and ordered a sandwich to split with my husband. We got our food and it looked amazing but one bite and I was done. The mayo/mustard was drenching everything so bad I had to toss the bread and lettuce and I asked for a new plaate. I was so angry I almost cried. $ 17 for 1 sandwich chips and a soda that I’m just going to throw away on my part time salary is very annoying but the girl behind the counter offered me a new one free of charge. Thank you, for that I gave you 4 stars.

I usually go to the one in midtown but tonight I decided to check this location out since I was already in the area. I ordered my usual a large Santa Cruz cold with everything on it. They weren’t too busy so the wait wasn’t bad, however the price here is absolutely higher then other beach hut deli locations. 17 dollars for a sandwich! Smh. I guess I’ll stick with the midtown location.

They would get five stars if the brought back the coral reef special… small sandwich and a pint!

Aside from the fact that service is always extremely slow, which is beyond frustrating… I just attempted to place an order for pick up on a Sunday and was told that they close at 5 pm. The problem with that is their hours say they are open until 6 pm on Sunday. Get it together before you lose more customers, after all we do pay your bills.

As a lover of sandwiches, pastrami and cream cheese, i am FULLY satisfied with Beach Hut Deli’s Santa Cruz sandwich. Not just the sandwich, but the service was fantastic! Since I’m not from the Sacramento area, a lovely young lady enthusiastically helped me narrow down my options to land on this phenomenal choice! Her name is… JULES. FOREVERKNOWNAS ‘THEJULESOFSACRAMENTO’ from here on out! Keep rockin my friends. Keep rockin!

The three girls working today are completely incompetent and have a serious lack of customer service. She rang my order up wrong over charged me and my sandwiches were made incorrectly. I immediately gave my sandwiches back and demanded a refund. If you enjoy being over charged and treated rudely this is the place but if you’re like me and enjoy appropriate friendly service boycott this Beachhut. All those girls need to be fired!

Simply the best… Price is a liltle higher than Subway or Togos, its worth every dollar. I’ve been eatting at Beach Hut Delis for some time now. I took my wife for the first time she had i think it was called the santa cruz which had avacados but she hates avacado. She loved it with her sandwich. The food is very flavor full, it melts in your mouth. Highly recommended it to all. A big plus is they serve too

I went early last night to have a sandwich for dinner and bring one home for a friend. I like the Malibu because it comes with cheddar garlic bread. After so many times of their being out of the cheddar garlic bread I know to have a plan b when I order the Malibu. Of course, they were out so I went to Jack’s instead. I have ordered a different sandwich at BH in the past when they didn’t have the garlic bread, this time I left. The Save Mart has the same Truckee garlic bread that they serve and they are also located 2 doors down from Grateful Bread bread store. The loaves of bread retail are about $ 5. Last night I was going to have a sandwich $ 8, chips $ 1.50, beer $ 3 and a sandwich to go $ 9, chips $ 1.5, soda $ 2 and a dessert $ 2. So they lost a $ 24 sale because they can’t plan ahead and have an extra $ 5 loaf of bread. They have lost my business. It is ironic that they are in the old Jack’s location. Jack’s provided consistently good food and had enough business to expand when Scott’s Seafood left. I have gone during the lunch and dinner rush. Jack’s is always busy, practically full, but BH is empty or half empty.

Disappointed. I’ve eaten at many beach huts, including this one in years past. I got no more meat than the 3 dollar sandwich at save mart in the same shopping center. One piece of bacon on a 13 dollar sandwich and 4 pieces of thinly sliced meat, I counted. Waiting 15 minutes for my food was fine, it was rush hour, but standing by the front door hinted at the smell of the togos dumpster I used to walk past on the way to work. I don’t know if the franchise has standards, but this was far below the quality I have previously had at many other beach huts. I will not be returning. I feel so ripped off I even tried to contact corporate before this Unilocal, but the submit button does not work. Next time, I’m going to mr pickles.

They NOW have gluten free bread. Super stoked for my dad and my now boyfriend’s friend that can not have gluten. Now we can do easy sandwiches before hitting the river. Awesome!!!

What a joke. Waited almost an hour for our food. Then wrong order. Now I’m late going back to work. Had to get money back and leave. Now will be starving all day, at work.

I went in with my 3-year-old about a week ago. The lunch rush was clearly over and with this being my first visit, I was taking a while reading the menu at the register. The guy behind the counter acted annoyed that I was reading the menu and was asking questions, including whether they had a kids menu. The food is alright. WAY overpriced just for sandwiches. The customer service left something to be desired. I get that the system is for people to pick up their order at the counter, but when it is practically a ghost town in there and you have someone come in with a small child, it would be nice to offer to bring their meal to them. Bottom line, I would not go back for the food(due to it being overpriced) and especially because of the service(or lack thereof)

I never thought about what makes something as simple as a sandwich enjoyable until I decided to write this review; common-sense ratios and arranged neatly so it is easy to eat. Not lazily slapped together. If I wanted that, I would have gone to Subway and paid $ 4 less. If my Santa Barbara sandwich is supposed to have bacon, I’d like more than one piece hidden in there. I’ll go ahead and let my photo speak for itself. I’m not exaggerating when I say I received ONE piece of bacon on my sandwich(I’m pretty sure depriving someone of bacon should be a crime). I appreciated the generous portions of avocado, but it would have been nice if they were not gigantic chunks that just slipped out on the first bite. I also had a ¼″ slice of cream cheese on my sandwich, 1 pepperoncini pepper on each half, and 3 pickle slices that were stuck together and made one huge slice. It was a disappointingly lazy attempt at making something as simple as a sandwich.

I had never been to a Beach Hut prior to moving to Sacramento, but this is now one of my new favorite chain restaurants to get a sandwich at. My biggest gripe with Subway, Togos, etc. is that you end up paying $ 6+ for a sandwich that contains very little protein and mediocre ingredients. Beach Hut is a little more expensive, but you get exponentially more protein than you would get at a comparative fast food sandwich place and a much better product. From a service standpoint, at this location specifically, the workers are always so nice and friendly, it definitely makes for a good overall experience. Important to note, a small sandwich here fills me up to the point where I can’t even think about eating dinner I’m so delightfully full(i.e. maybe skip the large here) and you can also grab a beer here(the real flaw in Subway’s $ 6 meal deal!).

I usually frequent the beach hut deli on J street but since I was doing some shopping nearby I decided to grab dinner here. My group and I were the only ones there and our food came out super fast which is a plus. I will forever be addicted to their marley nachos. However I ordered their haole pizza sandwich and it was a mess. I’m not sure if it was just overloaded with ingredients or what but it pretty difficult to eat. It was tasty but would probably not order again and definitely something to stay clear of if you’re on a date haha.

I have never seen sandwich packed with so many ingredients then at Beach Hut, definitely get your money’s worth! Food– 4⁄5. I don’t understand all the negative reviews! This is a solid sandwich spot that doesn’t skimp on the good stuff! I love their California Sandwich which I get with cheese, lettuce, sprouts, avocado, mayo and mustard on a wheat roll. So good! And everyone I get it it’s packed with over half an avocado! And if I get cream cheese with it, it is stuffed with cheese. Great! Their rolls are also nice and fresh and chewy and they have a big selection of «Dirty» Potato Chips… Score! Atmosphere– 5⁄5. This is the cleanest and nicest Beach Hut I have ever been to, but that’s probably because it’s the newest, it just opened a few months ago! It took over the spot formally occupied by Jacks and remodeled it to look like a surf shop, cute! Service– 5⁄5. Cashier is always fast and friendly and they get my order ready to go quickly! They also always get all my substitutions and changes right every time which is rare! Vegetarian Friendliness– 4⁄5. They have a couple(more than 1!) of vegetarian sandwiches on the menu, yes! And they will make anything any way. Overall– 4⁄5. Good solid sandwich place with a great attitude and seating! Only suggestions? Get Smoked Cheddar and put a menu on the wall behind the cashier instead of having to bring a menu up with you. Otherwise, great!
