Barwest

Really liked the wings here so I bought the groupon for wings and beer. When I tried to use it, I was told by the waitress that I was not allowed to use it any time a baseball game was on. Which is not in the fine print in the groupon. Any ideas Barwest, is that true? I can’t use the groupon any time a baseball game is on?
Not to mention, that when I went, there were only a few tables of people. Why turn my business away when there isn’t a crowd. I’m annoyed because I really liked this place.

Good beers on tap, good place to watch games, and decent burgers. But if you’re starving or want your drinks in a timely fashion, this place probably isn’t going to be the best choice. 2 burgers took over 50 minutes.2 beers and 1 cocktail took 25 minutes.
I also bought a Groupon and read the fine print because a lot of restaurants on Groupon will have day or time of day stipulations. The only rule was that it was for dine in only. That’s exactly what we did, and the waitress said the Manager told her not to accept any groupons because the NBA finals were playing. The groupons are only valid while there are no big games or matches on. That was definitely not in the fine print. I argued with her, but there was nothing she could do. So I immediately returned the Groupon and got scammed into paying for a meal I normally wouldn’t order when going to a bar to watch a game.

Awesome beer selection and food. Staff is extremely friendly and responsive! Great place for weekdays as well as the weekend!

I checked this place out on Unilocal and it’s got all kinds of bad reviews. People are fucking stupid. I don’t see how the hell they can review this in any kind of negative manner at all. It must be a conspiracy from one of the other restaurants. I don’t believe these reviews could be anything less than other bullshit. People check out this sandwich and tater tots I got it done in less than 10 minutes the waiter was totally awesome and just chilling with us and talking about stuff. Fuck those people that don’t like this place.

My friend and I were looking to catch up with each other and get some drinks and decided to go with Barwest.
We went in around 4pm on a Tuesday and there were only a few people at the bar. There was a sign that told us to seat ourselves and we sat for 10 minutes without getting a «Hi» or a menu.
I saw 2 employees and probably 4 customers…
We just went next door to Centro instead and received EXCELLENT service. Thanks for nothing, Barwest.

I’ll give the place two stars because once inside, it was actually a pretty decent experience. But only because we had the private room upstairs and our own DJ. The intrusion of privacy ID scan and photo for posterity will keep me from ever coming back here. TOTAL INVASION of privacy. Now they have all of my personally identifiable information stored in a crappy little Windows machine that could easily get stolen off the sidewalk. I think I’m going to start a list of places like this that FORCE you to give them sensitive information and share it with the EFF for places to boycott. Definitely won’t be coming back if they still require an easy security attack vector just to walk in the door.

One star is a bit generous… especially since I went here on a Wednesday night!
First off, mine and my boyfriends waitress must have been new, or just really bad at her job, I’m pretty sure her name is Sierra… but hunny please learn your beers because Fresh Squeezed and The flash do not taste a like and you seriously kept bringing me the wrong beer… even after I corrected you…
Also the time in between getting drinks and food left plenty of time to sober up and recall how awful the work day was. I get that it was a busy random Wednesday night, and sure it’s one thing to forget what someone ordered but doing that over 5x is a bit ridiculous. At one point my boyfriend just got up to order our drinks at the bar because it was a lot more efficient than waiting for Sierra to remember that she was our waitress.

The staff isnt very accommodating and the food took forever to come. Then when it did arrive it was cold… I came here before today and wasn’t impressed and now I am reminded why. Cold dry chicken strips, Cold Cheeseburger and cold fries, Yuck! I won’t be back smh

Unfortunate experience, this place feels like a waste of space. The servers are nice and friendly, the atmosphere is just ok. The food, however, is terrible. I’m sorry, but you can tell the food is frozen and mass produced. The fried pickles were waay too salty, the burger was a mess of bbq sauce, and the beer was not ice cold and somewhat flat. Based on location alone, Barwest will get a lot of business. Happy return customers? I doubt it.

Went here to try a few beers for sacramento beer week. Expensive beer — $ 10-​$ 12 beers are not my thing. There are so many bars out there that have reasonably priced beers that this would not be an option for me ever. Thanks but no thanks. I can try fabulous beers for a much more reasonable price then this. Silliness. Also the lights in this place were flicking on and off and making me feel like I was going to have a seizure soon. Complained about it– told they would adjust it and nothing happened. Will not be back. Ugh.

The employees here need to learn some professional manners.
I was there one night for about 20min, my first experience there, just to grab a drink with a friend while we waited for our table at Red Rabbit next door. We were sitting at the bar and next to us in the corner, an employee was sitting at the bar eating and drinking so heavily that she could barely sit still or stand up, and was taking OBVIOUS and obnoxious selfies with no shame, while the entire bar was watching her. The brunette was still wearing her uniform which is how I knew she was an employee. The girl even stood up at one point and completely fell backwards. The bartender also kept stealing her fries… another disgusting trait for the food industry. PLEASE DUDE, YES pour me another beer with your greasy fry hands.
Regardless of whether or not you are off your shift, you should never get shit-​faced at your place of work while STILL IN YOUR UNIFORM in front of your guests. That is incredibly pathetic and completely unprofessional. I didn’t even try the food but with workers like that, I really don’t care to. 2 stars for not having tried the food.
Consider re-​staffing.

Although ratings weren’t high, we stopped in for lunch while visiting someone in the hospital.
Amber was our Waitstaff (as well as Bartender it seems). She was very nice, courteous & pleasant.
We ordered a Philly Cheesesteak and Midtown Melt/​Patty Melt. Both came with fries that were about the best fries we’ve eaten anywhere. Crunchy & hot!
Philly Cheesesteak was flavorful & very tasty. Much like an original Philly but w/​the additional bell pepper flavors :)
Midtown/​Patty Melt was also very good and different than any we’ve had! Double-​stacked patties on the sandwich. A meat lovers dream!
I realize many Unilocal posts may be about the «Nitelife» (with over 13 TV screens of sports) but hope people might try just going for lunch?! It’s a short walk from the hospital and worth trying. For Sure!

Happy hour is M-​F 4−7pm. We, unfortunately, went here at 7:30pm last night with a group of about 14. The appetizers were pretty tasty and not too badly prices. We got the chicken nachos and the Chilli cheese fries.
We also had the large ($ 37) bar west punch fish bowl split between 5 people and it was pretty small. In comparison to other fish bowl places I’ve been, it was extremely sweet, the alcohol wasn’t very apparent, and sizing wasn’t very impressive.
Might come back again for some quick food and just a college-​type sporty bar environment, but not for the drinks.
The waitress, Katie, was very nice and accommodating. She also told us about «Social» the sister night club to bar west which was a lot of fun.

Ok so it’s a bar with the normal bar fare. My friends and I went to Barwest to watch a NFL playoff game and we had a pretty decent time. I could yell and high five and not feel like it was wrong. .. I saw someone refer to this bar as «Browest», but I prefer bros to hipsters any day. It had the feel of a sports bar, which works for me…
Even though the place was pretty busy, the staff was attentive. We sat at a booth and there were TVs everywhere the bar which was cool We were able to order drinks and food easily. We had hot wings, chicken strips and fried pickles. Complicated and impressive, no. .. but when you are watching a game and drinking it works.
Again it’s a bar. .. Not a restaurant or a club. .. A bar. ..

Every year I’ve been able to strategically avoid this spot on the St. Patrick’s day pub crawl and for good reason. Appropriately nicknamed Bro West, it’s a shame that it’s sandwiched next to some quality spots on J.
I met a group of coworkers for dinner last weekend and despite my cries, we ended up here when the wait next door was too long. We walked right in and got a table for 8 (not a good sign). Occupancy was generously 30%. We were finally able to order our drinks after 20 minutes of trying to identify our server: one soda, two glasses of wine, two mixed drinks and water. Fast forward to 30 minutes later– still feeling parched and starting to realize this is not going to end well.
It was equally as tedious to gain the attention of a server and place an order for food. We were irritated but still patient. What sealed the deal on our frustration was probably the physical fight that broke out next to us and spilled into our space. The bouncers were quick to respond but by that point, we were done. Regretfully, I can’t remember the name of the woman who was brought in for damage control but note to management: Keep Her! I respect the fact that the manager came over to apologize and adjust our bill (some food never arrived) but I’d rather pay full price for quality service.
This might be the spot to watch MMA with a pitcher of PBR so if that’s your thing bring backup and patience.

I have fun at this place the few times that I’ve been here. I had my birthday here a few years ago and it was a blast. Everyone loved the jello shooters and the fish bowls. We mainly come here on Thursdays for the fishbowls then hit up faces afterwards. Definitely recommend everyone trying the fishbowls. It’s worth it.

A half star cuz the sweet chili chicken wings were good too but not super duper awesome.
A star cuz the layout of the restaurant was simple & good. Nice cushiony bar stools & made for great convo & eye contact w friends.
A half star cuz the lady waitstaff/​slash/​cashier ran my card quick even though the place was semi packed.
A half star cuz the waitstaff was nice, but the food took like a half hour or so! They did deduct a lil cuz it took so long to get to me.
Please, have more servers. I mean, just cuz the lady waitstaff was eye watchingly shaped like a coca cola bottle n was kinda hot, doesn’t make up for the slow food! C’mon!
I would def come back for those lemon pepper wings, yum!

I must have been completely wasted the first time I came here. But the next time it was a sobering experience.
Love the bartender they have. I would give him 5 stars alone, very hard worker and great personality. My husband and I appreciate having good relationships with bartenders but unfortunately he’s so busy because he’s the only one serving the whole place. I used to bartend an they should definitely have another bartender on weekends when you know it going to be busy,
The food sucks. The wings are almost burnt. Way too crunchy. I couldn’t finish half and so we left and ate at the mexican place next door. My brother and friend stayed behind to finish the fish bowl they ordered. Probably made of cheap alcohol and cheap mixes because they both had horrible hangovers the next day.
We actually came back the next day for my husbands boss Bday celebration. The staff was so retarded they took 15 mins to get our order and they brought drinks only two at a time with 10 mins in between each round? What the hell? My friends orders the same drink but all three came out in different consistency.
I can go on and on how much this place sucks. We left and went next door to the mexican place again!!! I will probably never be back. Red rabbit is right next door as well. Wouldn’t waste my money here sorry

Where do I begin? I’ll keep this short and simple and cut right to the chase. Terrible customer service all around. The dude checking our ID looked like you couldn’t pay him to smile. The ONE server that seemed to be working the floor was no where to be found for most of the night. Even when we asked someone to come wipe down a booth, they never did come. When a bunch of my other friends were at the bar ordering drinks, and one of my boys asked for some more coke for his chaser, the bartender gave him this disgusted look like he didn’t want to give him none, but finally reluctantly gave him a ‘splash’ of more coke.
One star for overall service and experience. I tacked on another star because the music was decent.
