I love awesome video– been coming here for the past two years. So glad there’s still a place to go rent a movie. These other people don’t know what they are talking about when they say bad things about this place. The mural on the side of the building is really rad too. Really, I’m all about this place.

What’s so awesome about running off with my credit card? I just went in to open an account. The clerk was in conversation with someone, so I waited for a turn for her attention. When she realized that I wasn’t pulling a video off the shelf, she asked if she could help me, I told her about my desire to open an account and she requested my ID and a credit card. Then, without discontinuing her conversation with Customer 1, swiped my CC into an IPad and started typing away. Um, making an Amazon purchase or something from Ebay, maybe? I insisted that she return my ID and CC, which completely baffled her. I pointed out that I had no idea what she was doing with my information and she protested that«it was procedure». Well, of course it is, but the whole point is to communicate with the person you intend to transact business with. I am a reasonable person. I was completely willing to wait my turn, to complete whatever contract to open an account. But when someone starts in on my CC information on a piece of equipment that, for all I knew, was her personal device without discussion about what the process would entail, well, I’m outta there. If she had finished with Customer 1 before tackling Customer 2, if she had explained what she’d be doing with my information, if only a lot of things, this would be a different review. She was just plain awful.

Okay I gotta be honest. This place actually kinda sucks. And since I so far have a monopoly on the rating I’m gonna keep it at three stars just because other people might like it and I don’t wanna ruin it for them. The lady here doesn’t seem to like us. She makes conversation with literally everyone in here but us. It’s because this one Christmas I bought a DVD from here and the DVD wasn’t even in the box, and she claimed there was no way that was possible, so my recipient sent in a letter to her inbox and ever since then she’s been holding a grudge. Her prices for rentals are stupid. Three bucks per night for some old DVD and about four or five for new ones. Man I have Netflix and Redbox ain’t no way those prices are competitive. I guess because it’s quaint and people like customer service(hah, not here) it stays open. Or because they feel bad she’s the only video rental left in the entire city. Shit I could buy these movies for three bucks at Tower(I refuse to call it Dimple. It’s Tower). Well maybe not three but enough that my viewing numbers will exceed the price I have to pay for a single view from here. Or however you phrase the viewing to price ratio. Whatever. I say just let the in person rental industry die already.
