[PLEASENOTE: The following review has been moved to the«Atelier 20» Unilocal business page since this business — «Atelier» — I have found out is a different business.] ************************************************* Awesome Gallery Experience During 2nd Saturday Art Walk SITREP Atelier 20 has recently moved to 20th Street between I & J Streets. It is a wonderful hybrid establishment that has vintage antique — and very unique — items, along with a great space for exhibited works of art. SETUP On this occasion I came to Atelier 20 at the invitation of my friend Brooke, one of the artists whose work was being exhibited during this most recent past 2nd Saturday Art Walk. The new gallery & store space is only a couple blocks north of the main energy of the Art Walk located at 20th& K Streets. STORELAYOUT There are a couple of smaller anterooms you are greeted in as you first walk in & wind through the gallery-store entrance & foyer area(s). This is where a lot of the featured artists works are presented and where they greet art-lovers with their questions. Then you walk into the large room, with high ceilings where most of the antique pieces are placed and viewed In between these two areas are the stairs that lead you to an 2nd level that appears as a balcony on the back perimeter over this larger room, and here more art pieces of the artists can be viewed. THELOWDOWN Atelier 20 has a great new space and a stylish new addition to the Midtown community of art galleries.

I love this store! They have the most unique handmade jewelry, and a very nice selection of cute little dresses and accessories. Everyone that works there is so nice! Sorry dude bros, this isn’t a place for you to go if you want to find a new, old«vintage» tee to put under your great grandpas blazer you just acquired.

This is the most unique clothing store in Sacramento, hands down(don’t believe what the haters said below– most of this stuff is local handmades, and the vintage is incredible and well-selected). In addition to(yes, mostly women’s clothes, though there’s a bit for children and men) the attire, there are neat curios, like a little organ, old sewing machine, amazing locally made jewelry, etc. to peruse as well. The owners are very dedicated to their community, as evidenced by their participation in local fashion events as well as hosting many of their own art and music events on premises. Kudos to creativity and heart, and I’ve found many a rad find to don, and, always complimented on those pieces, it feels great to boast, «I got it at Atelier!” — not Target, not Forever 21… BUYLOCAL!

Atelier is truly a gem. Beautiful vintage pieces, mostly mid-century but really a wide selection, at affordable and decent prices. This should be first on your list to get inspired for a wedding, party or other special occasion. Several dressing rooms with good mirrors. Staff is friendly and helpful but hands off, and there is never pressure to buy. They seem tolerant of people costume shopping as well as everyday-vintage wearers. It’s not a snobby atmosphere at all. It’s true the men’s selection is more limited but at least it can buy you some time if you manage to drag your man with you one day.

Really crappy. My wife and I spent a day shopping at Sac vintage stores last week and this was one of the worst. The store itself is disorganized and claustrophobic. There is one rack of clothing for men and I could tell it was all terrible without even flipping through the shirts. My wife almost found some interesting things but they were all in bizarre sizes. Even then the«good» things from this place were a stretch. It seemed like they tried to hang every single piece of old clothing they could find. The individual(in gender transition?) running the place was actually really nice. But it wasn’t enough. Seriously this place is not worth the trouble.

I had lots of luck finding clothes here. I came home with six items, which is phenomenal for someone as picky as me. The inside is very appealing. Love the décor, and the clothes are fairly well-organized. You will have to devote a lot of time when you come shopping here, as there are so many racks, trunks, and drawers to explore. The prices are very reasonable, I got some shirts that were $ 5 each, and a dress for $ 10. Some of the more intricately hand-crafted stuff went for higher, but even then I didn’t see anything over $ 50. A lot of the clothing had no price tags on them, which can be disconcerting. However when I brought them to the front, she priced them quickly and I had no problems purchasing them. The girl who worked that day was very friendly and helpful. I’ll definitely be going back.

This was my first trip to Atelier, what I really liked was the variety and the creative feeling that permeates the space. The staff were welcoming, friendly and more than willing to chat up the other local shops. I spotted some memorable pieces, an amazing victorian bodice that was shredded in a somehow gorgeous way, a dress made of two different 80s knit pieces that was adorable, a tee shirt shredded into a fine net, a nice selection of 40s to 60s vintage in candy colors, and even a couple of great plus sized vintage pieces ! 5 stars for community building spaces like this !

When we walked in here no one acknowledged us, the two guys were watching the Youtube video about Iron Man and Batman(best part of the experience), as for the clothes they were all just cheap, uninteresting, and un-innovative. The guys clothes were the worst, there was one Christian Dior shirt(handmade? Sacramento local?) and the rest just looked like cheap 50s style gas station shirts you would find at KMart. Aside from the Youtube video the most interesting thing there was the random sewing machine(I guess that’s where they get handmade from) on the counter.
